Why I stopped using Uber and Uber Eats. I was a platinum member and I keep getting coupons and discounts to come back. No, pay your people and I'll consider.

My gosh. I feel for these guys. Its honest work and its important. My father was killed a drunk driver and the accessibility for people to make safe decisions really means a lot to me. I've never had a hard time getting a ride and always always had polite drivers. I don't need uber much but it's a wonderful thing.

Therea a reason ride shares dont work in most countries. Here in europe you have to be registed properly as a licensed taxi before you can drive for them. Theres lots of regulation needed and when you have it then..

That's absolutely horrible business practices for these shoddy companies . The country should boycott them .

I drove Yellow Cab for 5 years. This was before Uber came into town. As a female I can relate to the dangers of this job. I had a lot of friends who went to Uber when they started, but, the cities allowed this company to run and operate without being regulated. I think the people are learning a lesson as to why ride share or Taxi should be on a equal playing field. The drivers and the passengers deserve to be respected, and the drivers deserve to earn a decent wage. If Uber wants to leave them let them.

Open source versions of Uber/Lyft software can be found completely for free online. This type of software is practically part of learning how to code these days. Let the companies go! Someone would replace them in a matter of months, if not sooner!

If ride share is sooooo easy to set up where is the competition?? Any competition loooonngg ago could have been there offering better driver incentives.

@@comicbookchris3509 Ride share software is, in fact, being used in related industries. In fact cab companies use it now. The point here is that, if Uber and Lyft leave, that will leave a gap that could be easily filled. Perhaps not as profitable, since they would need to provide better benefits to their drivers. Uber and Lyft treating their drivers like crap allows them to keep their rates lower.

Is it capitalism allows one to multiply their wealth based on an idea that they had. We would hope than the idea was so magnificent that you could share your wealth with others.. instead the corporations capitalize and work even harder at not being fair to the detriment of the people that help to get them there in the first place. Sad state of affairs.

Ultimately the consumer will decide whether they are going to pay or not. It will be interesting to see how this plays out but people are already eating more at home and staying home or buying old cars. These drivers better make sure if they want to die on that hill.

    Disgusting
