Love watching your channel for already 3 years now. You don’t know how much it changed my life once I saw it first time back then, and the things I did I thought I could never do because I got braver and inspired, thanks to you. It means really, a lot. Thanks Dries
Your comment just made my day, thank you so much!!!
Thank you. My biggest hurdle is not how to paint, what to paint, etc.; it's talking to people about my painting. It seems imperative to success to speak. Not a fan of it. Worried about expressing my POV, seeming pushy, being a con artist, blah blah blah. Been at this 40 years, pretty knowledgeable about how to paint but the relationship / talking part is beyond me! It is a sad fact this seems to be the reason I live near poverty in a world where many seem to be successful. (I know, just don't worry!) hard to do. Anyhow, thanks again. I listen while I paint and helps with the isolation.
Yes the talking part is indeed a pretty big one. Small steps I would say, keep some recent work on your phone, when a friend asks what have you been up to lately you can show some of your work on there and talk about it in a low level environment. Before you know it you take the next step and the next and the next step. Good luck.
😂a minute in and I love this already! I'm especially fond of the way you speak like you're about to solve a mystery!😂
hahah, thanks. That's a lovely message to read for sure
Your videos are fantastic. The amount I learn from them about how to do this thing (selling art) is amazing. I was on the brink of making some major mistakes until I started watching your material. Thank you!
What am I missing? He's teaching about social media, but has no followers? Kind of weird
Not art related but dude, if you like that guitar in the background take it off the top of the radiator! The heat will warp the neck
hahaha, I don't use that heather ever so I hope it's not going to be too much of a problem. But thanks for the advice!
Hello Dries, I’m an emerging artist from Netherlands and I’m trying to figure out what kind of insurers I need to have for my artwork. It’s so frustrating that I can’t find any normal information about it. Maybe you could make some kind of video about this subject also?…I think that would help many people
Good tips I myself see other artist who aren't even has good as but they're so confident in what they post I even encourage them keep practicing etc because in reality we all have to start from somewhere anyways good video my guy hope in I'll resort to selling too.
You got this I'm sure
Very inspirational! Thank you for this video🙏
I don't find these strategies work. Really over social media
Time is short...everyday is a new opportunity to grow. Thanks for sharing information to accomplish that.
It sure is!
Your videos are developing great and I am in the same journey as a confused artist
Awesome, thank you! Let's change the confusion then
U looks 👍👍 today than other days.😊. And conveyed a great 👍👍👍 idea too
Thank you 😊
I think this video makes me more clear about what I really want make use of ig; I do not really care about what others like my work or not; I do some simple marketing by hand but whatever the results. The fact is, I think the platform does have its rules which are limiting creators; I dislike seeing a creative and talented artist keep making the same kind of art just for "personal style/brand" while they could have done much more; art techniques and teaching are really valuable but just not for me to create; maybe if one day I like to share something about background making I will do that but just not for more likes or comments, etc. Nor do I care about how many dots on a blank canvas get how many millions of likes, since no matter what it still look just "okay" for me...sometimes I hope artists on ig could do something, use their own accounts and power to shift the rules, instead of just following them for "that's the rule"'s sake. Thanks to this video that I realized maybe what I want at first place is not just business, but something more about my personal beliefs about what art and art practices should be. ♥
Beautifully articulated. That giraffe 🦒 had me crackin' up. So true!
Thanks, I'm experimenting with some simple but meaningful/funny art. Feedback is always welcome :)
I don't think people wait at all until they're good enough, judging by a lot of the bad art on Instagram
Oversaturated by untalented artists
Priceless insights once again. Thank you!
Ayyyeeee loving the man bun Dries 💙 ... And the ambience, and the giraffe and yes of course the video as a whole ... Also, you play guitar? 👀
Yes I used to play a lot of guitar when I was younger, now I don't find time for it anymore...
What’s interesting is that even the top Instagram influencers have only about 10-20% of their followers actually interact with post. So don’t feel bad if you don’t have high interaction. 😊
Yes! I thought the same thing - "The works I am seeing all looks the same."
I'm self-taught and published everything without fear, because I'm unique😄 the way I draw, no one knows how to paint🤣👌 I'm so brave that I created a RUclips channel where I draw😄
Are you for real ? Bragging about yourself like that 😂 btw your ‘’artwork’’ look like abstract ‘’artists’’, that a 8 year old can do
@@McKurdi who are you? Van Gogh, Malevich, Kandinsky? I can't recognize it in the makeup. I'm not interested in the opinions of amateurs.
What do you think of using directed ads at targeting people like art collectors?
I would never have thought that anyone outside of Germany would know Mark Forster :D
Beautiful segment it has trying to progress on my art. Thank you
your info is precious, thank you
This was amazing honestly, thank you.
Dries my old friend...you look well...! How have you been?
Very insightful! Thank you!
This is gold content. Thank you.
Thanks so much for this video!
Earning money can ?
This hit me hard.I needed to hear this badly
You are very very welcome.
Good video👍🏾 and message.
Your camera angles are new....I think....Ive seen someone else do that...the front then the side....but they switched so fast it gave me a headache🤣
You mean the second camera angle, yes I'm not totally sure about it... what do you think? Does it give you somewhat of headache?
I also think the composition is not entirely good of the second one, my head is way too much on the left... I wasn't paying attention.
I think you transitioned well between the overhead perspective when you show your IG to the front then to the side angle...if you do it to much then it can be a lot...it was done really well between 1:54 and 4 minutes in when you gave yourself about 2 minutes before you switched...i think you spoke a little bit more between the switches. Everything looks really polished....unlike myself🤣 I cant get the wind to not blow my phone over or the dogs to be quiet😳🤪 you've come a long way.
hahaha so basically I was doing it really well when I was not doing it? haha, yes to be honest I don't know if I like that angle too much myself... I also don't really see it being used on RUclips (probably for a reason)
I whish I could get more feedback on it from people
@@driesketels very funny...I liked it ...but....less of it 😆 did that come out right 🤔🤣 Maybe you should do a video with your questions and then people could answer them in comment section or schedule a live with your questions if you had time....idk...Jim Morrison says People Are Strange🤔
Thanks for your feedback!
For the record, your unibrow looks good. That is not a common thing.
Wow you are so right!
Thanks!

I'm so old now I don't worry about uploading on Instagram..but I would like to sell more before I dielol
There are plenty of ways, Instagram is just one of them. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you.
Ick me either
Hello Dries, I would like to know what are masterminds on Instagram? I got a little confused with that.
Yeah,,, I don’t think I buy your formula-- you’re desperate to sell to the point that your spending way too much time figuring out how to “post” 10 times a day or something…… so perhaps when it’s all over people will say He was a famous poster-- my point is Artists, and I’m using that designation in a very specific sense, are in the main concerned with their art--or should be anyway.
a famous poster... I'll take it.
I like the titles but your anxious fast manner of talking triggers my ptsd and causes me too much anxiety to get all the way through any of your videos.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing well. You can always go in the settings and make the video go slower if you want to. Perhaps this might be a solution.
@@driesketels 🙂
christ get to the point
I would probably watch some of these if he could just speak in a normal voice. The way it is now is unwatchable
Could you be more specific? Would love to improve,... are you talking about the background music, the editing, or the intonation of the voice?
MY Paint brush up to you and ART @journeyofaconfusedartist
You are very very kind. Wish you the best.
