How to Add a Throttle to an Electric Bike: Step-by-Step Tutorial

Welcome to this video where we're going to be adding a throttle onto this TDR brand electric bike that currently doesn't have one.
We'll be taking you through the process step by step, so whether you're an experienced bike mechanic or a beginner, you'll be able to follow along easily.
We'll be using three parts to install the throttle, and we'll show you how to run the cable down the frame, tie it to the necessary cables, and fit it into the controller.
Finally, we'll change the settings on the LCD panel to get the throttle working perfectly.

Some controllers don’t have a throttle connections , you have to buy a new controller that has throttle connection if that’s the case

I can't remove the screws from the control unit compartment, I even tried with an electric screwdriver

Hi great video! I was just wondering, when you connect the throttle and it starts working, does the pedal assist still work or is it just the throttle?

Will this work on any e-bike e. g. Yamaha "with" assisted electric bike? Where did you get the control unit on the handle bars? Thanks when you have time.

can you just switch the pedal assist wire and plug in the throttle instead ?
