I don’t believe it being “too graphic” to be the issue. The game is rated 18 for a reason and has plenty of gory executions, some of which could rival the MK series. (not in sheer gore but in brutality at-least) I believe it to be a time/money saving method, since a real destroyed head would be pretty detailed and would mean unique models for each character (characters with masks, helmets and beards etc) broken jaws, missing eyeballs, disfigured faces/helmets would most likely be a lot of work.

to be fair with half these executions, imagine fighting on the front, you glance over at tommy your friend in arms, and you see jorm shove her hammer into their torso. The intimidation tactics are real.
One execution I've always wanted to see for Jorm is repeated body shots. Like, the victim fights back with a punch to the jaw, and Jorm retaliates by sweeping the leg with the hammar. They try to reach up to the Jorm, but the Jorm stomps once to plant their foot on the forearm, pinning it before heaving 3 furious downward swings into the body and head.
Imagine an execution where jorm does a golf swing, making contact with the enemies shin, knocking them to their knee. Then jorm winds up the hammer and brings it straight down onto the kneecap. Finally as the opponent falls, jorm winds up once more and crushes the skull.
Huh…was expecting it to be a bit higher. Also, I’m rather surprised Jorm didn’t already have any execution where she either throws the hammer and destroy the opponent’s head or an overhead slam to the opponent’s head…with the correct portion of the hammer and without the need to jump of course. Nevertheless, I can’t wait to see Jiang Jun’s executions. I have a feeling that his executions will mostly be good on all factors….with the exception of maybe 3 of them. Actually, is the Guan Dao good for thrusting? I mean, some of his current executions revolve around him thrusting it.
Minutes 1 for any time someone gets punched. It is literally one of the riskiest things one can do in a fight; boxers wrap their knuckles to protect their hands, not to protect their faces.
For the lethality of "Swing for it" definitely wouldn't kill in my eyes. The dude literally screams as he's flung away. He wouldn't be able to get up anytime soon, but he'd to live with a concussion and a possibly broken knee.
I think Hammerhead deserved the 4 for cool factor for how _disgusting_ it is. It's one of, if not the most gnarly executions in the game, hurts to look at
Im pretty sure the handle goes through the eye in Hamarr and Anvil. Also, Jorm's default weapon skin has a spiked pommel, and if you compare the thickness of the forehead to the thickness of the orbital, the forehead is 8-12mm thick, and the orbital bone is 0.4mm thick. Even if it didn't penetrate the bone, it'd likely be enough to crack the bone and cause bleeding, or at the very least cause a concussion.
Also I think executions like hammerhead are victims of the limitations of the game’s systems. If they could animate the skull actually being crushed and split by the weight of the hammer with the sides of the head slumping out of the way as she shoves the shaft into the throat, this would be perfectly convincing as an execution. Unfortunately, it wasn’t feasible to realistically animate anything more than clean decapitations and dismemberments of the arms. You can dock points on the executions for that, but I’m sure that if the animators had the capability then they would have made these executions more convincing.
The execution at 12:30 I feel the ranking was a little too generous and high. If we assume the hammer pomme is going through the forehead, granted the lethality could be a 4 since we did see an impalement but I feel that should warrant only a 2-0 realism rank, I don’t claim to be a weapons expert but you cannot tell me that pommel has a chance to impale. 3 is high in my opinion. (It is unfair to factor the possibility of a sharp pommel, no weapon is ever tested on the basis of weapon customisation and this is no exception, even jorms default pommel is rounded and not pointy/bladed) P.S I am not at all hating on this video or any other graded executions video. I love this series and can’t wait for more episodes, I just wanted to voice my opinion on this execution.
@@Juntou No it bloody isn’t. It’s the most rounded thing I’ve ever seen. You must be referring to the itty bitty little studs around the pommel. When I said spiked or bladed, I meant that the pommel itself was sharp (which it really isn’t) making your comment pointless… Another funny thing is Jorm only has about 2-3 pommels that are actually sharpish and could potentially pull this execution off. Again these execution ratings do NOT take weapon variations into account as that would make for an unfair rating.
@@holdencross6126 Even if you don’t consider it being sharp, I’ve always assumed that the pommel is going through the eye and not the forehead. In that case it would absolutely be lethal. Even if you don’t wanna give Jorm that, the character is also a demigod or some shit so he’d absolutely have the strength to at least cause some sort of concussion or brain damage from striking the forehead in such a way.
The hammer teleports into position on Bait 'n Nail. It's where it "actually" is right up till the blood spatter effect when it comes through the neck, at which point you see it just *pop* and even then it has to swivel around a bit within the character model to be through the throat. It's animated so noticeably and sloppily it bugs me. That plus it's ridiculous...
Isn't there a video of that one Olympian dude jumping over 6+ft hurtles like they're nothing? Jorm could totally do that jump. Especially with the windup of the hammers momentum.
For the second excution jorm jumps about the same height as the warden if he is standing bent over, I can defenitly jump that high and I'm defenitly not the only one. For the excution where he takes of the head have you ever seen what happens to a head analoge when you hit it hard enough with a weapon like a goedendag which would be of the same lenght? It blows the head up shooting chunks everywhere. That would probably be to hard to animate though. I have seen first hand what happens when you fall onto a not point tree branche atteched to a tree. It will go into your body. Falling into a smalle steel pommel is going to end up stabing true your neck no question. Although it's increadable hard to get it to happen I give you that. Also hammer and nail you can actuely stab true the eye and then true the smalle amount of bone on the inside of the eye socket directly into the brain.
Well I’m glad you’re a good jumper. And a goedendag blowing up a head? No…no I don’t believe that for a second. I’ll need video evidence of it literally exploding a head into nothing.

The second execution.. I’m my opinion I feel as though the weight of the hammer would help propel you into the air especially since she spun it, could’ve used the momentum to help her jump higher. ( may sound stupid since I know nothing about this type of stuff)
Yeah it didn’t look like she jumped that high in the air, but the weight of that hammer would definitely boost it with the right momentum for her to get some height
Overall Agreed with most of the scoring. One part id disagree on though is the swing for it. i understand that follow through is important but when you strike a massive solid object(body with full plate) with another massive solid object(sledgehammer) at some point it becomes remarkably harder to follow through like if you strike a hammer and an anvil there is rebound or a gong and a mallet still rebound. still agree the distance is a little absurd so the ranking is perfect.
10:30 I'm a little confused. How does a % chance of something happening apply to realism? If it is a possibility, doesn't that make it even more realistic? Like Berserker execution where he throws his axe but the handle hits the face instead. Genuine curiosity, not arguing
I still find it weird that Jörmungander uses a hammer like Thor's hammer and all these other things associated with Thor but is named after the creature that killed him (the Giant World Serpent/Son of Loki) and has a move called "Twilight of the Gods" which was the event in which Asgard falls and the majority of the Norse Pantheon dies. Can't tell if Jörm is a religious zealot or a doomsday cultist.
I don't think hammers can really decapitate through the neck at all without placing the victim against some kind of edge behind. Hammers at peak efficiency even, would sorta "smear" the head, if they catch the jaw they can basically remove a lot of the face or otherwise flatten it, but as far as dismemberment maybe they could dislodge the skull in its entirety and then send it away from the body by sheer force making the flesh simply tear off, the head would barely be intact though.
So Raven, you often says that if we want to see you play a game you don't own we need to buy for you (or pay for it)... If I would like you to play a mod for a game and pay the game would you then want to play the mod? (It is a mod for Mount & Blade: Warband called Perisno) Can't pay of the game this month but I just want to know so I can plan after it.
Tbh in for honor lore isn’t jormungandr the human version of Thor in the game ? So TECHNICALLY in the for honor universe this could be realistic (the lightning one) if gods are a thing. Idk maybe a stretch
In the lore, Jormungandr are humans born with odd skin deformaties that make them appear to have scaled skin, so many were exhiled to Storr Stronghold where they formed a cult, believing that they were the children of the Great Snake Jormungandr. They worship Jormungandr, and believe that in the first Battle of Ragnarok, Jormungandr devoured Thor and thus inherited his hammer. So the Jormungandr wield hammers in honor of their god.
Raven, knock it off with being dramatic about the speech mistakes. I make those ALL THE TIME and you don't see me abusing part of the soundtrack from Hellsing Ultimate in tandem with Shakespeare!
If the Knight gets lifted off the ground from a swing, that means the same amount of force is slamming Jorm into the ground: no. Absolutely not realistic. Looks great, but just no.
I am still seeing him not addressing the fact that The heroes are not Normal Humans if you are judging them off of what you think a normal human can do then some of the heroes are going to be unfairly handicapped because of the fact that they are not meant to be done normal humans
The criteria “Realism” was created because I am grading them all based on what is realistically possible. Seeing as these warriors are based on real world warriors and cultures, I’d say it makes perfect sense to consider the realistic applicability of these executions. I am aware these heroes pull off superhuman feats. But I’m not comparing them to what is superhuman. I am comparing them to what is human. And that factors in.
Calling this now, she's going to have the lowest score. Raven hates Vikings and she's unrealistic. Cool factor isn't going to save her low Realism scores.
@Raven Knight I came to the conclusion from watching you. You're apparently not aware of it, and perhaps hate is a strong word, but Vikings clearly exist on the opposite end of the spectrum to the Chinese heroes
@@dr.calibrations7984 Hahahaha! XD I adore Shaman, I have been begging for Valkyrie to show her face, I find Highlander to be incredibly cool, and Raider is one of the best vanguards in the game. I admit they aren’t my favorite faction…but I fail to see how my feelings towards Vikings would impact the score here. That’s a little insulting to believe I would skew the score out of personal dislike for a faction. I try to be as objective as possible in these videos.
@Raven Knight okay, why is a lightning strike less realistic than moving faster than sound? How is smashing a head with your bare hands more realistic than smashing a head with a hammer? How is disarming yourself as seem in hammerhead less efficient than sitting down? I have had this inkling for a while but held my tongue because I forsaw this exact reaction, I wasn't attempting to insult, I apologize for my inability to articulate myself as such but if it's going to end up in some huge fight forget I said anything. I quite like this channel and I'd rather not end up in some huge text battle with the channel owner
I don't want a fight either...so let's not fight. I'm going to answer your questions and I'm going to be 100% honest. How you feel about it is your choice. The truth is that I did not start using the '0' score until recently. Lark recommended I start giving certain scores 0 rather than 1 because some of them are just too unrealistic. The reason why some scores might have gotten 1 instead of 0 in the past is only because I hadn't thought to use 0 at the time. That's the reason. But as far as bias goes, I'd like to remind you that, before Jormungandr, the lowest scores in the series were Orochi and Shinobi, with Shugoki tied with Raider and Shaman. If I prefered the samurai, why would I allow three samurai to sit on the lowest bracket? I work very hard to keep personal bias out of these videos. I check with my brother to double check my rationale and grades. I confer with friends of mine on the matter. We may disagree on certain aspects of an execution, but I've never given a score based on my preference for a faction...THAT is why I felt insulted. If I'm being honest, there were moments I felt too generous to Jormungandr, particularly when I called some of her executions cool (like Hammerhead) when I personally don't think they're all that great. I tried hard to consider what the rest of the community thought about the execution rather than my own personal feelings on the matter, so the accusation of bias stings me. But what makes me sad is when you said: "I foresaw this very reaction," the implication being that you expected me to get defensive and argue. It's very unforunate you have such a low opinion of me as this. I won't criticize you for it. We're all entitled to our opinions, and I'm sure yours is not without cause. Therefore, I can only assume the problem is with me. For that I apologize. Fear not, I have no intention of arguing with you. I will not respond again. Think of me what you will. But I value my integrity. That is why I responded...not to fight you. Farewell.

I don’t hate Vikings…dunno where that came from. XD
Farewell.

Behold!
The All knowing fool!
It's bought not buyed!
How dare you to apologise for your mistake! 🤣
Forgive me for my foolish comment
jorm probably has the worst executions in the game tbh
