A Drawcia remix? For Halloween? Does that not go better than Peanut Butter and Jelly? Drawcia happens to be my favorite kirby final boss, and happens to have among my favorite kirby themes of all time. Besides nostalgia, there's something so eldritch to Drawcia that a surprisingly few other kirby villains posses. I mean, she turned the ENTIRE universe to paint, and transmuted kirby into a ball when they tried to fight back. In addition, while her first form isn't all to scary, her second SOUL form (the first soul form in the series mind you) hits a truly terrifying vein, as I feel she is one of, if not, the only villain aware of the 4th wall. Notice how she screams and fires projectiles at the screen? Notice how her model is the only 3D-2D hybrid model in the entire game? Notice how Kirby Canvas Curse is the only kirby game to have YOU be a part of the story, with the Rainbow Paintbrush being a gift at the beginning of the game? She's seen snippets of the higher dimension, and she's afraid, screaming and attempting to fight back like a cornered animal. She understands she will loose, but doesn't want to give up, trying to scare YOU away from the game, because that's the only way she could win, as killing kirby only resets the fight. Anyways, have a Sub, you deserve it for this amazing piece!
Woah, awesome work, Bardometer! This has such a chaotic and fittingly ominous vibe that's perfect for a Halloween release! I was really excited when I saw your Community post hinting at this remix. Although I haven't played Canvas Curse, I've listened to some of its OST, and this was easily one of my favorite tracks. The overall production here, in terms of both audio and visuals, is superb! I really enjoy that you included both the standard and Soul versions of Drawcia's theme, that transition between the two was really well executed, both visually and musically. The way the music decrescendos as the screen fades to black really creates this looming atmosphere of unprecedented danger! Your instrument choices are fantastic, and I especially like the use of tubular bells and what sounds like an electric guitar - it's quite an eclectic blend of instruments, but it works! And as another person mentioned, that organ is wild, especially with the crazy-fast runs - definitely final boss-worthy! Like your other videos, this must have been a real labor of love to produce, but I'm happy to see that this has already gotten a solid response. I hope it continues to gain traction! And I hope you enjoyed your Halloween celebrations, as well! It's the best favorite holiday to have, and this is certainly a fitting tribute! 🖌️
I love this remix, the bells and organs mix so well, the soul part of this remix is so perfect Drawcia is a severely overlooked and important character in kirby and its artistic direction, yet at the same time, a severely overrated and praised character in kirby lore. Personally, i love how drawcia led kirby in the direction it did, with darker aspects under the surface.
