Venture back in the day, defunct Highland electronics store, and yet Jewel-Osco even under many different ownership has survived, culture shock and I am only 39 here!
Trying to find a WGN Opry Christmas radio special. From around 1987 ish I played drums on it with the Cannons . Johny Cash was there too . We did three songs ..
Good luck running that down, Mark. Sounds very cool. Wish I could help you, but the only WGN recordings I have are broadcasts of WKRP IN CINCINNATI. You might try checking with RUclips user Fuzzy Memories, who runs the virtual Museum of Chicago Television (or something like that). He actively archives material from Chicago stations like WGN, so he may have some idea where to point you for the broadcast you're after.
Dominick’s was like a Harvey’s or Winn Dixie grocery store. My dads family side preferred Dominick’s versus Jewels due to cleanliness and organization.
Dominick's was the best grocery chain in Chicago until the ignorant kids of the founder sold it off to Safeway who bombed that chain to the point of Albertsons buying them.
Grew Up On WGN9! This Was The Ultimate Throwback! 📺💥
I love the 80's Subway sandwich commercials from the late 80's. Their sandwiches are really good. Thank you.
I miss the old days
Glad that Selective Service never caught on. I myself had to sign up when I was in high school.
Nice. I miss the old WGN. I have some WGN commercials from the 80s on my channel and about to transfer more from vhs soon.
WGN and TBS from the 80s are sorely missed.
Jim Law do u remember the incredible hulk reruns?
You can blame "SyndEx" for ruining WGN in the 90's.

Don't forget the other defunct businesses Fretter, Woolworth, Montgomery Ward, Cub Foods & Dominick's.

WGN might as well go back to showing stuff like this since they stopped showing CW programming in Chicago
You would think they would, but I guess the damage has been done.
Black Phoenix both WGN & TBS both had a much better variety of programming back in the 80s.
Dominick's must have been a local version of Walmart.
Dominick's was until a couple of years ago a local Chicago area grocery store chain. The last of the stores shut down in January 2014.
cobaltblue1975 ...Especially after M Jordan sued Dominick’s for using his image on a coupon without his permission. They lost BIG TIME!
