Strong vouch for Gunfire Reborn - excellent game and well-supported by the devs. My favourite roguelike of all-time though is Dead Cells - easily one of the best ever.
Great list. As someone who plays a lot of roguelikes it was refreshing to see a list that isn't just Hades/Dead Cells/Enter the Gungeon/Slay the Spire. I love all of those games but they have been talked about to death at this point. I actually found a few on here I hadn't heard of. Picked up Death Must Die a while back but waiting for the 1.0 release before I fully jump in.
THANK YOU for making Astral Ascent the first showcased. That game is a masterpiece. But its and absolute tragedy that Oblivion Override and Balatro weren't in here. But great list tho. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, like someone already said, it's so nice to see a video about roguelites that finally shows some lesser known ones amidst the more famous ones. I am at that phase where it's super hard for me to find an interesting new roguelite to waste tens or hundreds of hours with, you might have helped me a bit. Greetings from Finland!
For me, i would say : - Hades I & II - Have a Nice Death - Cult of the Lamb - West of Death - Rotwood - The Land Beneath Us - Neon Echo - One more Gate a Wakfu Legend - The Rogue Prince of Persia
About 9 of these games i go back to, especially with friends (if available in them) Can DEFINITELY recommend Gunfire Reborn, Roboquest, and Cult of the Lamb ❤️
Add this point we should all agree that roguelite is not a genre of gameplay anymore, but rather a type of game loop structure. You can literally attach any gameplay style to a roguelite system.
Very interesting list! I'd like to add some other gems: - Dead Cells - Brotato - Balatro - Have a Nice Death - Roboquest - The Rogue Prince of Persia I like so much the last one: you shouldn't judge a book by its cover! I'd suggest you to check it out. Next week a big update should be released. It can be a good moment to start playing it! If anyone is interest in it or some other roguelikes, I'm uploading some videos here on my channel :)
Balatro... which likely has been rising in interest after this video. Slay the Spire is another... RogueLITE, to me, indicates like a Rogue game with some elements. RogueLIKE means more. Balatro, after I picked up after reading a bunch of critical buzz, has had me busy for hours on my Switch. Rogue meets video poker.
HERE ARE SOME AMAZING GAMES HE MISSED PEOPLE THAT ARE TOP TIER..... PLEASE TRY THESE IF YOU LIKE ROGUELIKES/LITES. ----- RETURNAL, RISK OF RAIN 2, CURSE OF THE DEAD GODS, DARKEST DUNGEON, BINDING OF ISAAC, SLAY THE SPIRE, ENTER THE GUNGEON, NOITA, SIFU!!!!!!
It’s hard for me to agree that slay the spire belongs on this list. I love those types of card games but the progression system is purple based on unlocking more options and feels very different from the more power based progression of most rougelites
Some really interesting picks(and pickaxe), deep rock galactic and the plane game really look cool! My personal recommendation would be crab champion ❤️ love this game For robo quest and gunfire reborn I have 100 And 200 h played on them and I can safely say it was a great pick

So farm it seems like a pretier , yet way morep disfuncrional game , pacing feels way worse than the original , weapons are really odd and realistically speaking dont differ nearly enough In Hades 1 different weapons made you feel like you are playing a different game , so far in hades 2 every single run feels the same . That is perfectly fine as the most important months of development are ahead. Hades 2 is a perfectly prepared meal that needs more time in the oven to cook properly , if you like raw food thats your problem, but please dont go around telling people the meal is ready to be served. It is not.
Nova drift? Blazeblue entropy? Synthetik legion? Dead cells? Risk of rain all 3 games? Ziggurat 2? IMO :some games from your list... must be replased with some thing from my questions. Cuz they just...better.
With over 60 hours in both, i kind of agree tbh. Hades 2 has better gameplay, a richer world and more engaging boss fights. The only criterions where i felt they were on equal footing was the voice acting and somehow the graphics (Hades 1 is still breahtakingly beautiful)
