I just got married in Punta Cana on the beach in April and my "bride song" was Forever by the Beach Boys and the song when they present the Mr. & Mrs. was to Jack Johnson's Better Together. Back when “Save Sunset Beach” bumper-stickers used to be all over O’ahu, the thought of The North Shore being developed by some Disney-like touristy resort or something was a nightmare scenario. I am glad it’s still country. It has changed some, of course, but it’s still incredibly beautiful. I love Da North Shore. Great interview here! Very casual. Mahalo. 🤙🏻

I remember surfing a spot called gutters and Occy came out without a leash and he lost his board on his first wave swam a 1/4 mile in for his board and paddled back out and got the sickest barrel and became my favorite pro surfer

Occy always seems surprised that people idolized him, does he really realise he's a surfing legend, he seems like an everyday surfer on the land and occy the legend in the water. Love his interviews and obviously his surfing, I grew up watching green iguana and bunyip dreaming, power surfing never gets old
me: wears surf t-shirts and pattern shorts me: has a weird wild man bun/long hair me: wears sandals from march-october me: loves surfing, guitar, and uke me: adores old surf films by Bruce Brown, Jack McCoy, and of course Occy... everyone around me in chicago: "why do you look and act like such a dork?" i really need to move to hawaii...maybe i could make some friends like jack and occy -_-
