@Dan Benner Businesses shoudn't have to be open just to house them or anyone. So those employees don't get to go home in such bad weather but have to cater to the homeless? That's insane. Many homeless people are either druggies or alcoholics and most have been on the streets for a very long time...they know exactly where to go seek shelter.

No, I've been through it. Some of the coldest years on record were 1976-1978, 1982, 1985-1986 (the year the shuttle blew up because of cold weather in Florida), 1993, etc. After the Blizzard of 1978, Rhode Island was frozen solid for ten days. This is nothing new.

@@magallon643, Your reply is not totally correct or accurate. There is more going on than you are (apparently) are aware of. You should know, batteries store electrical energy chemically. Also factual is battery chemical reactions are affected by temperature. The batteries used by EV's are not typically "flooded lead acid batteries" because of their weight but they all have an "Anode", "Cathode" AND "Electrolyte". NO EV commercially manufactured today has a battery with a "solid state" electrolyte. Therefore your mistaken when you commented "they dont (have) any Fluids nothing freezes".
