Not that bad of a driver jp. Now the dirtiest driver in btcc has to be anthony whinging arse cheating reid, and to date jake Hill is coming through the ranks just ask matt neal about oulton park a few years back.
If only F1 was about talent instead of how much money you are bringing Edited to add.. actually those offs he had on earlier laps would have possibly killed him in real life but certainly would have killed the car and would have stopped him getting to the faster lap. Would like to see Plato on iracing
Coulthard was a decent bloke when I met him, bumped into him at Brands Hatch in 2019. He was there doing demo runs in a Red Bull F1 car between DTM races.
I remember as a kid going to an open day and getting to have a go on one of these sims.... I say have a go but I basically got about 5m before putting it in to the wall.
I don’t think JP should feel bitter about his experience/test drive with Frank Williams back and in the day, (Late brake show with Jonny interview). P.s it doesn’t come across as he is bitter. I certainly don’t think I’d love him as much as i do if he’d become an f1 driver.
Whilst not cheap, a direct drive wheel with some he pedals and vr is within reach of a dedicated hobbiest, motion is also available, although that's the point where the cost starts to stack up, but not entirely out of reach...
These kinds of simulators aren't about graphical accuracy, they focus more on true physics. How the car handles in this simulator is near identical to how the real car will behave
He’s actually one of the nicest people I’ve met, like a lot of racing drivers he has a persona when he’s on TV but I met him a few years ago at Knockhill and he was lovely
I have said this many times in the past: Jason Plato is the best British Driver never to drive in F1. He was another Mansell in the making.👍🏻
No, he was better than that.
Only if they fitted big rubber bumpers to F1 cars, he's the dirtiest driver I've ever seen.

Except Plato is much more likeable than Moaning Mansell
This just shows what a phenomenal driver JP is! 🔥🙌👑

We need to see DC in a BTCC car
or reversely how DC wasn't really a great driver
@@tonsterdang or DC wasn't taking it as seriously as JP
Amazing how much tech has improved again in the last 10 years
Both phenomenal drivers ... But I'll beat either back from Tesco to the Pub for last orders in Tier 2 in a Clio 182 Cup

Great guys, two of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.
I think DC will be the CEO of the FiA one day
He’s well thought of surely.
What will AC do then?
@@djremotion2 Soundcheck
He was one hell of a driver. Balls of steel in Touring Car.
That's why I love F1 cars

yeah didn't match the names and place in my mind either, hope the physics were on higher level ;)
I'll stick to my G29 and F12020 on the PS4 :)
Two of my favourite people in one video!!👍

And it's of the course the same year that JP won his second BTCC title
I am sure DC could go quicker with his experience but you have to wonder if JP'S career went down the F1 route how he would of got on.
he ran outta money in f3 unfortunately
would of been up there with the best

BTCC misses you Jason.
That simulator looks amazing! Should the euro millions come in this week, I'll have to have one installed in the garage! 🤣
If you won the Euro, wouldn't you rather just buy/build a racecar and take it to the track in real life? 😅
@Just DoIt I didn't mean F1, just a competitive track day car. You can take a hot hatch to a track and get a decent thrill
@@baker6928
With a Euromillions win both a simulator and track car could be had.
@@bighands69 I'm not saying that with a euro millions win that's ALL I would do. I'm not that thick! 🤣

Story of DCs career. Fine racing driver but when the chips were down he never could really cut it.
That is a simulator not real life racing.
He came within 1 point of winning the F1 championship, he was top notch.
@@liverpoolscottish6430never did mate
Dougray Scott seems to have had a bit of a career change
Well done Jason !
Mean while Plato would have bankrupt RedBull with the number of crashes.
Except...most winning driver in BTCC history.
It just proves what we all knew all along... That Plato sweats harder than Coulthard.
Don't forget JP killed himself 4 times before he set that lap 🤣
DC may have done the same.
In a real race with real forces and danger DC would destroy JP>
Coulthard made a career out of nearly killing himself every other weekend.
Jason “push to pass” Plato
Push the other car
Not a button
where’s the funny 😐
Alternative universe where JP went to open wheelers
he did race in lower open wheel formulas before getting in to touring cars
He outrun him by 1.3 sec. 2 b sure...but he died 4 times finding the limits of the track...

Is that engineer to Plato's left one of the baddies from the Mission Impossible movies?

I wonder if anybodies ever shown this to Sir Frank?
He died in 1996 and had more to do with Jet Engines than racing drivers.

Very impressive JP........ 🤔
Surely not as 'classic' as the time they all drove a Beetle around a corner on a test track? Talk about epic! (It very much wasn't that!)
DC's claim to fame is he finished 2nd to Michael Scumacher.
'an F'? 😂😂😂
Its like that
They really do have such poor graphics. I know it’s more focused on car feel but it must take the realism out of it to an extent.
4:16.
Plato so far up himself it's hard to watch. But that goes for alot of racing drivers.
