What helped so much with the konmari method is that you now see how much duplicaded stuff you have in your home. That you don’t see as quickly when you do room by room
Sparking joy doesn't do much for me either. Do I like it, and will I use it? Is maybe the same, but it's been with me for years now, and it helps me. Peter was my biggest help to not continue down the 'stuff' road. I just brought it to a halt one day, when I was packing to move. Most got donated. From that point on, I've never looked at things the same way. Thank you, Peter for changing my life.
Same here. I'm packing to move and committing to touch every item and task and get rid of things that won't help provide the life i love. I love both methods and what they've each done for me personally.
Bravo I’m right there with you. The photos over 100 years has come in my possession I feel like things were dumped on me lol. Time to come out from being the designated family historian
Peter is great. I resonate with him. I’m more practical like him. Marie Kondo makes me want to run. She has helped so many. Stuff doesn’t give me joy it’s more a responsibility and need that motivates me. Thank you for having Peter. He’s so knowledgeable goes deeper than just a touchy feely place
Better late than never, Shannon. I always say that you could be in a better 'place' to fully use this motivation. I decluttered an awful lot before a house move using the KonMari approach. But I've kept decluttering over the 3.5 years since! We're nicely 'essential' now but it does take time to 'grow into less'. Every step brings joy. Blessings to you Shannon. G Ire
I loved the kon Mari method because it made you see how much you really have of each category and deal with it quickly. I'll have to admit some items you keep dont exactly spark Joy like a whisk or drinking glasses so you just have to ask does this work for me and my family and do we actually use it.
Joy joy joy. Need function. Peter has it right. A big difference instead of how do you want this room to look vs what do you want from this space Key goal
America is 6%of the worlds population and had 40% of the total deaths from covid 😢 stop the over consumption of terrible food and too much stuff. You are enough !

Peter always makes me excited about cleaning up. Thanks

I. Learned a long time ago that you can't have enough of the things that you don't need. Shopping is only a temporary fix.
🤦🏾♀️ Ugh I wish I had found this when it was originally posted. I need to do this. Thank You

Does it sparks joy doesn't work for my brother he said everything sparks joy because he likes it that why he brought it 😂.
Good for your brother!
Dana K White and her method is the one for him! G Ire
@@SF-ru3lpyup container method for sure

Peter is right about the plastic storage boxes. Then he talks about filling bags but hope they are recycled bags.
I don't believe we were created for "stuff " to bring us joy.
❤😊

America does not have 50 percent of the world’s population!
US has 4% of world population and 90% of the items in self-storage units that doesn’t fit in our homes!
I'd put Europeans in with that percentage. We're similar in matters of consumption, I think. G Ire
I think he accidentally reversed the numbers of population and stuff.
Right, I think he switched the percentages.
