@@1homeboy815 40 bucks will buy a decent cb. Another 20 bucks will buy a decent antenna. An hour or less to put them in each rig. Depending on the terrain they could probably get 2 to 10 mile range. A bit more money and they could possibly double that range. Say 200 per rig? Handheld radios usually have limited range unless they are expensive high quality radios. Those usually require a license to use.

Don't work! Years ago I was towing my son home, with flashing lights on the roof and flags on the rope. Came to a roundabout, do they call them Circles in US? Anyway I had priority so off I went. A car then came on from another direction , straight bettween the two us, about 12 to 15 feet gap! I hit brakes Tom hit brakes. other car bounced back. Out get's driver, 'Oh I thought I had room to get bettween you'. REALLY? , by the way, is that Driving Instructors sign on the top of your car really yours?

Do you remember the old time standby that was used by EVERYONE, didn't need towers, only needed to be within range to work ! CB radio! Still works today.

I still use it......that was the first thing I put in my brand new 84 Yota 4wd pickup....was a CB radio. And then Lockers.
I have a Midland mobile GMRS that is going to supplement it soon.

Dont know how many times i have to say it. Here in Australia we put these in our normal cars and almost every 4x4 has them. CB, UHF, or some call them RADIO. They are the best thing any and every vehicle can have if they go out of town and especially out of phone service. Seriously Matt, it will make your job (plus Rudy's lol) so less stressful and easier you will be kicking yourself for why has it taken so long to get one in the first place. Plus they come in handy for traffic updates on the road and many other applications. But cant wait to see the Corvair doin recovery. ✌

A satellite communication device is very nice to have for back country travel in places with no cell phone service. They are a lot less expensive than they used to be. I got a Bivy Stick a couple of years ago.

I love the comment "His mom won't let him spend the night out here." Dad so would, but momma bear always protect their young!
