    I have a feeling people who have not started to even plant are the ones complaining about how long the video is also at least you are actually learning something aside from spending money on nonsense. I am a beginner and love what they do. I felled in love with growing my own plants due to the corona-virus so... I guess thank you? And thank you for this awesome videos, I sincerely enjoy it.

    I like this system of propagating garlic. We have planted garlic directly into our garden but that has not been successful. The drought & water restrictions affecting our part of Australia killed the crop. However, this system allows the plant to develop strong roots & stems ready for planting into a large pot or a garden that can be watered. There is no such thing as too much garlic.

      all the garlic died. Garlic needs to be planted outdoor and grow outdoor. The shock of the transplant from indoor to full sun will kill all the plants. This channel is a scam, I'm shocked how many people support it.

    • @garliclovers1416
      @garliclovers1416 4 года назад +11

      @@Altairw its sad you make that comment. I did this last year in southern Australia and the garlic did grow. Have you tried it out for yourself.?
      I have had workmen two weeks ago trample my newly growing garlic and snapping off green shoots. I thought I had lost it all but now new shoots are coming up from those plants. Hard neck garlic. Tough plants it seems to me.

    • @tanyawales5445
      @tanyawales5445 4 года назад +3

      @@Altairw Was it significantly colder outside than inside when you planted your transplants? Did you place your garlic in front of sunny window or give it artificial light while it was growing in water so it was making it's own food and not using up all the bulb reserves? You might need to harden off the garlic plants first by placing them in the sun outside during the day when there is no frost and then taking them indoors at night for a week or two first . In a warm weather area that probably wouldn't be necessary.

      I AGREE COLLEEN. This gives a head start to fall or spring planting. In fact I cant grow garlic in spring theres not enough time in my season but this might just solve that. Last year it got too cold (ground froze October) too early, so I have no garlic this year.
      I also agree with Michael, Jay has no soul, lol, made me laugh.

    You have great looking soil, obviously a lot of compost mixed in. My thought would be that the bulbs were planted too close together for growing to their maximum size. This is not meant as a criticism, just an observation because I believe you could grow very large bulbs in that rich soil.

      He may not have a garden. If planted normally in small pot like that it may dry out and not set roots. I think its a great way to get a head start. For me a fall planter, I have stuff growing in the containers like beans tomatoes etc til frost. As soon as frost happens I can stick these in. Or I could wait til spring and do this because they are already growing.

    I don't mean to be contrary, but what is the point of doing this? It looks like a tonne of extra work, extra not needed steps, in growing garlic. I watched it through incase the point was to grow them maybe hydroponically all the way through, but no you planted them in dirt at the end anyway. For anyone interested in growing garlic, you do not need all these steps. Just get a nice fresh healthy bulb of garlic, carefully seperate the cloves and plant the cloves into some nice fertile soil. Water and they will grow. In 5 to 6 months depending on the time of the year they will be ready to harvest. Easy, and no need for water bottles, knives, space to store them, nothing. And no the cloves do not need to be previously sprouted to perform well.

      I for one would prefer to see that I have healthy garlic that will sprout instead of searching for it in the dirt and maybe it didn't sprout, or an animal dug it up, or it rotted in the dirt. Plus, This is an interesting way to take care of the extra garlic I get when I buy from a store that sells multiple in a bag. They always dry out before I can use them. I could do this and either plant the bulbs after they sprout, or use the sprouted garlic greens right in the kitchen. It's not really that much extra work to put it in a bottle and top off the water daily. I'm sure more work is refreshing the water. But people are doing fun weird things like growing onions on their window sill. Some people like to know for sure that their seed will sprout. How frustrating it is to get a bag of bulbs and plant them and None of them sprout. That's a really downer, and it's happened to me, so I know the sadness. LOL
