Its a very high quality plastic called delrin. The protos were made almost entirely from it because it is strong and easy to machine. It is an excellent material, and will be used in the final product, but not to the same extent that it was in the protos. Steel will be doing most of the load bearing in the final hangars.
@crazykorean182 You're talking trucks, I'm taking setups. Nearly any truck can be set up to do DH and do it well. But it you set it up to carve, with soft cone bushings, short wheel base, and high angles, it probably won't be something you're wanting to take down hill.
@OtherPlanetsSkate Standard indy 169's on a earthwing superglider, basically big skateboard trucks. I've ridden with them dude haha. Then surf rodz which are meant to be carvy and are, but still can do sick downhil runs
@crazykorean182 Ok. So you mean stock indys. I still wouldn't say that's a carving setup, its still an intermediate setup. I mean, the comment I made was directed more towards the average youtuber riding originals and sidewinders.
@envythelost We don't think normal trucks can't do DH, We're saying that carving setups with normal trucks can't really do DH. And yeah, the board was 50* front 40* back, I just said it wrong. Or I actually measured wrong. If you measure from the horizontal, and the trucks are 40* and 50*, if you measure from the vertical its going to be 50* and *40.
i just needs more cuts to keep it fast and interesting. we have the ability to jam the camera in tight places on the sk8 lets get them in there are really let people tear them apart with thier eyes. up close and personal and demonstrate the importance of each simple component.
@OtherPlanetsSkate What material are the trucks made out of, it looks like plastic. Is that only for the prototypes or are you planning on using them for the final product too.
00:52 kingpin angle controls the pivot " constrain it's motion to the pivot axis. use top view of sk8 upside down while hanger jogs from edge to edge while being constraind by bracket + kingpin angle
Switch the trucks around. If you dont want the back wheel to drift or slip out from the board. If the front truck turns less than the back than the back will ALWAYS be able to turn the same amount or even more eliminating the skid and slip of the truck. If its the opposite the Front truck turns more than the back, there is a point where the back truck CAN NOT turn as much as the front leaving a area of slip and slide. Just my two cents. other than than great idea :)
6:49 deck height not compromised because of deck tip.. needs to be major advatage make this the pinnicle of our vid. if anyone watches this that simple fact should be what they walk away with.. need to use 2 bolt design and cam frofile "lifting and lowering" to demo correctly
00:31 "designated front and rear place camera in front of sk8 (about to be run over lean down and say f"ront" and cut to same shot config but from vantage or rear david turns to that end and says "rear" to physically establish Ff and Rr
7:23a little more history before giving away our latest design. i still have to sell the "older" design so lets not let all the cats out of the bag just yet...
hanger from bear has no base plate + confused go right ahead to instantly show similarities with single pivot proto to show the sims between them... mabey it needs wheels
2:09 provide stability that other trucks can not... like what!!! like deck tip, lower deck height, flat spot on cam that has greater surface area, asymetrical kingpin
3:57 another proto.. talk about the simple revolutionary concept of having 2 pivots. a little history would be good just to stimulate the transition into something completely different. a departure...
@OtherPlanetsSkate so am i, im saying standard indys, standard indys come with 92a yellow cones, and alot of times their swapped for softer one. my friends runningsurf rodz indeesz with 88a and 86a sabres, and that things more stable than my 50 calibers with 88a sabre boardside, 90a diving roadside barrels
2:16 introduce each truck before showing them all. it will present the information, it seems like there is one more inmortant than the other but for no reason. each truck is unque but why...
4:09 i"nstead there are 2"... 2 what actually show and display the simple workings of this design. describe it like you would to a child. this is our oppotunity to really establish the fundamental design principal. crtical

2:45 the bushings prevent this movement.... very good simple and to the point, i understand
@TheMuffledCracker
Look for a video called "SLC riding - Longboarding" by "gnarlongboarding.
Its an 8 min video of just riding.
6:13 will drop to center again over do it with montage and rapid cuts to show the importance and also how radically different it is from the bear
@crazykorean182
Ok.

1:39 15' turning radius with what degree of deck tip?
@envythelost

5:13 angles right here control deck tip cut to huge cam profile outside of pocket to really show the workings
i just needs more cuts to keep it fast and interesting. we have the ability to jam the camera in tight places on the sk8 lets get them in there are really let people tear them apart with thier eyes. up close and personal and demonstrate the importance of each simple component.
hurry up and release these......I am absoluteley going to purchase a set.
@OtherPlanetsSkate

@105bentley
Just got my figures mixed up when reciting to the camera.
The board isn't actually set up hokey.
1:28 This truck cut to profille shot to show where to look on that sk8 to get that info
that is an awsome design. the explanations are very well done.
4:41 looks so cool to see cam inserted. butt needs close up of cam needs to be huge!!!

Just because they're riding indies doesn't mean they're running a carving setup.
00:31 "designated front and rear place camera in front of sk8 (about to be run over lean down and say f"ront" and cut to same shot config but from vantage or rear david turns to that end and says "rear" to physically establish Ff and Rr
Wow. These seem better then my custom built slants, where can I get a pair??
@kandem360
They're up for sale on our website Otherplanetskatedotcom.
@indebuilt
Yes, If they have generous wheel cut outs.
7:23a little more history before giving away our latest design. i still have to sell the "older" design so lets not let all the cats out of the bag just yet...
Turning radius for black board is ACTUALLY 19 feet.
Turning radius for new proto is ACTUALLY 8 feet.
6:55 show just howlow it is by rolling it directly under another sk8 like we used to do
00:47 we need a good way to demo that the rear turns less than front
hanger from bear has no base plate + confused go right ahead to instantly show similarities with single pivot proto to show the sims between them... mabey it needs wheels
2:09 provide stability that other trucks can not... like what!!! like deck tip, lower deck height, flat spot on cam that has greater surface area, asymetrical kingpin
how are speed wobbles on that thing?
3:25 " you can see that it's not quiete" forgett the details we sell other planet sk8 not bears...
1:07 extreme 30* i don't get it just say our sk8 turns less but has much more deck tip
FUN AND LOVE!
We should be enthusiastic, and not so serious. perhaps crack a joke.
i feel like you could make these simpler and remove some of the bulk. I like the idea though
don't you need the center of gravity to be at the lowest point when you are turning ? and not when u are moving straight?
4:26 too quick a jump to modern truck... needs more info on two bolt . the sled is going to be built like 2 bolt so lets make it important
3:57 another proto.. talk about the simple revolutionary concept of having 2 pivots. a little history would be good just to stimulate the transition into something completely different.
a departure...
4:42 instead of two bolts + cam but still don't understand 2 bolt
You're onto something
@OtherPlanetsSkate so am i, im saying standard indys, standard indys come with 92a yellow cones, and alot of times their swapped for softer one. my friends runningsurf rodz indeesz with 88a and 86a sabres, and that things more stable than my 50 calibers with 88a sabre boardside, 90a diving roadside barrels
4:28 show one demo with cam fixed and hanger wizzing all over the place
@1:00 demonstration for what "de-tuning' means.
2:01 turn radius is under 12' but need to know deck tip angle!!!
@OtherPlanetsSkate tell that to the earthwing crew bombing hills on indys
open with black sweep same direction that david enters
@SBunder
Made it.
2:16 introduce each truck before showing them all. it will present the information, it seems like there is one more inmortant than the other but for no reason. each truck is unque but why...
Can you send me some to try them out?
5:45 falls from center into turn. do montage liek paxtons big crash . lots of repeating demos over and over with diff speeds and camera angles
@noiztank3000
Don't know.
00:12 "i am showing you our trucks"= cut straight to close up truck use kosmo proto just to get attention
1:00 downhill specific has too much tech involved and an explanation doesn't inform audiance about our truck any more. "turns much less is plenty"
3:10 needs wheels and mounted to deck
Can we see these in action, at speed?
ruclips.net/p/PL5yZQb3nCI4SklvmD0wQ50QN85ODieO1M
Bunch in this playlist.
4:09 i"nstead there are 2"... 2 what actually show and display the simple workings of this design. describe it like you would to a child. this is our oppotunity to really establish the fundamental design principal. crtical
Demonstrate Kingpin angle w/ Diagrams.
can that truck even go downhill? looks way to soft.
you look pretty pissed off in ths but the trucks look sick
A more professional setting would help others take this more seriously. Right now, you're just a young guy in a garage with a taped up long board.
Completly re-do 2:10 - 5:27
Its too long, and too much Irrelivant info.
Also, Another person besides me should do it, to mix things up.
And behind my longboards... are some dead bodies in tracsh bags.
I don't know why but the way he speaks seems reminiscent of Obama speeches.
wouldnt trust these with my life
