I first saw a preview of this version of Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) in a theater when a friend of mind invited to see a movie (I've forgotten which one). The preview displayed horses running through greenwood, and men fighting with bows and arrows, and both my friend and I kept looking at each other and asking "What movie is this?" Once we saw Russell Crowe rise from the ocean yelling, did we both stop talking and all attention was one the screen. We were hooked! We waited until we saw the name of the movie, then we both knew we were coming back to see it. Even in that small preview, this movie was amazing! I now own two versions (special editions or extended versions) of Robin Hood, the first with Errol Flynn and the second with Russell Crowe - both great actors in their own unique way. None of the other versions I've seen even come close. Thank You, ReanLouis2 for providing this lovely music. I have now ordered it. The only complaint I have is my favorite music from the movie, the one where everyone is celebrating the return of the young "Sir Robert Loxley", and Alan-a-Dale is singing while Little John and Friar Tuck trade bards, is the only one missing from this soundtrack. :( I really enjoy the legend of Robin Hood, as well as the music from this period. Thanks!

Real film connections there... I'm sure I've missed some others out. 👌 It's a shame this film has not spawned a sequel. The ending is a 'bit in the air', certainly in historical terms.
Listening to such music reminds me of how bad the modern warfare is (since it requires a lot of distance, and no more swords) and it makes me want to go back to the time people knew how to be real men.
If Russel Crowe hadn't played Maximus first, RobinHood character would have really suited him. But this movie gave a lot of Gladiator vibes with Crowe in the lead (and a similar look :))
