    Excellent video! I'm sticking with stock. My XKR gets loud enough for me. But really appreciate the effort you made, I now understand the system better.

    A treasure trove of Jaguar XK8 XKR information.? What are the over axle pipes dimensions, Length and width of pipes? You mentioned the oem ovrhds are 2" wide..

      @nayjag7610, the length of the overall axle pipes are 1.25m or 4ft. The diameters are external 2 1/4" or 55mm and internal 2" or 50mm.     I removed the rear and over axle sections and think in retrospect I should have just changed the over axle section. At between 1,500-2,000rpm under load there is a very noticeable boom in the car which is very annoying. The external noise level is bizarrely not excessive but does make a proper V 8 rumble. I am going to have rear sections fabricated with small silencers to hopefully eradicate the boom. So my advice to anyone would be to do stage 2 first.

      David, I agree completely. I had a similar experience. I originally replaced the over axle pipes with stage 2 when I dropped the rear suspension. I retained the original back boxes and this improved the sounds without being harsh. I have since added stage 1 as well. To honest I prefer the stage 2 only. It’s got a burble without being thuggish.
