The song and the video have multiple meanings. Betrayal by someone that is trusted. Don't judge people by their looks. The bikers are angels bringing justice to a priest who has forsaken his calling and became a serial killer of those he decided were sinners. All women. It is a very deep song. One has to find their own deep meaning in it
Been a huge fan of Within Temptation for well over a decade. Love that you did a reaction video to them. I love how open you are to so many music genres. Keep up the good work Sushi!
If you listen to *what* that beautiful voice is singing, the imagery makes perfect sense.

I thought you would enjoy this, the video is she is an angel that is put out to trap the demon and destroy him, he is a serial killer. Very good band and a very original concept video.

Within temptation is amazing been a huge fan of them since there 2nd album Mother Earth my bestfriend of 20 some years she got me into them so this band always makes me think about her It has that special connection to me because of that there live shows are phenomenal I got to see them back in 07 or 08 one of the best concerts I ever seen they never disappoint either you deff need to react to them again some other good ones by them are Ice Queen, Memories, Whar Have You Done , Frozen , Faster , The Whole World Is Watching , And We Run , way to many to name but definitely react to them again you need to react to more Hard Rock and Heavy metal music more :)

They are a Dutch symphonic metal band that started the same time as Nightwish 1996. They are considered one of the pioneers of female fronted metal bands. The lead vocalist is Sharon den Adel who founded the band together with her partner Robert Westerholt. She applied, and was admitted, to the conservatory for opera training but did not like it so she changed over to the arts-academy within her first semester. There she studied clothing design and management and completed it successfully. She has mainly used these skills in designing outfits used on stage. They have had a rather successful run in clubs for couple of years where their performances were constantly sold out. Because of that they got invited to the biggest festival in the Netherlands "Pink Pop". Even though they had a very early start the concert was a huge success. They released their single "Ice Queen"shortly after expecting it to be very successful but it did not do much until somewhere in December that year a dj played it on the radio. Suddenly the song shot up in the charts and even took the number 1 spot. Now other countries started to pay attention. They received their first foreign festival invitation from Argentina. All expenses paid but they were not getting paid for the concert itself. At this time they all still had day-time jobs so they needed to take vacations days to go. They went over there and considered the concert a success judging from the audience respons. The record company also arranged a signing session in the biggest cd/record store in Buenos Aires, on their way over there the band members were speculating about the number of people to expect or if anybody would even show-up. They got their answer when they arrived at the store. The store was filled to the brim and there were still hundreds people standing outside waiting to get in and even the band itself had problems to get through. When they asked the shop owner how come that so many people showed up he looked surprised and said "Haven't they told you guys that Ice Queen had lead the charts for weeks?".
Sharon is at her best live. The best concerts of the band are 2 shows they did, being supported by a full symphonic orchestra and choir. The most famous one is with Metropole Orchestra in Rotterdam called the Black symphony. I love witin temptation ! Especially their song "Forgiven" . I heard it a hundred times and it still moves me.
3:30 you just described everyone's reaction to symphonic metal it will be heavy drums guitar and bass the artists all look like vikings you're expecting all hell to break loose on stage then the vocalist walks out on stage she's a goddess and she has the voice of an angel.

Sharon Den Adel is one of the Dutch metal maidens.
You need to do a reaction of a live performance. Like most symphonic metal bands live is usually better than the music video.

Sorry to tell you this but "Our Solemn Hour" is not the opening track from "The black symphony" concert although that would not be a bad choice. This is the song they start with after the break. Yes, this genre is called Symphonic Metal. Or Opera Metal some call it. It kind of goes with how you used to tell dark lullabies in a beautiful voice with a hard lesson to learn. If you do more Within Temptation I suggest "Stand My Ground" or "All I need".

This is awesome! I haven't seen hardly any reactions to them. My favorite song of theirs is Memory. They also did a song with Xzibit and it's pretty good.

Video Explanation: you're supposed to see Sharon as a victim for the whole video until the end when it's revealed that she and the band are avenging angels who punish wrong doers, and they (and Sharon) had the upper hand the whole time. In short, it's a fake out. We think we see a kidnapping/murder, but it's revealed to have been part of their plan to trap this guy.
Every time I'm watching this song, it matches in my head with a scene from a book I've read. The book's title is "Thief of souls" by Aneta Jadowska. I don't think it was translated to English.
There is a scene there where main heroine, the witch, is improsoned in murderer's lair. The guy has obsession and wants to, well, prove his love, then to avenge rejection. She's running out of options. Her doom seems certain. Her power weakens and her fall means many more people will die. She tried calling for help but will her friends find her in time?
Then Joshua the angel arrives in full power mode. And that changes everything. The murderer suddenly has zero chances to survive. Even worse because this angel is both main heroine's friend and is duty-bound to protect her. So he's very, VERY angry when he sees her hurt. And he has everything he needs to squash the guy like a bug. Which he does with cruel, cold smile on his face.
This song matches this scene perfectly.😎

It could be that the killer is not an actual priest, but has disguised himself as one in order to gain the trust of his victims.
You're getting closer to Nightwish and Epica, though they're a bit more metal than this.
Also, metal lyrics are more poetic, more abstract, than rap lyrics. Like Master Of Puppets by Metallica being about addiction, you need to really pay attention to catch the meanings sometimes.

The visual aspect in their videos seem to have a habit of being, for lack of a better word, heavy. Watch their video for their song Frozen. Had another dark feel to it
