Professional sports don't really get like this in the US. This has usually been left to college (American) football. Which is the oldest established sport league in the country. Check out the SEC games and traditions to see engaged crowds. That said, American sports have always provided an atmosphere that is suitable for everyone of any age, and I don't see MLS being any different as it grows. It will never have quite the same atmosphere/edge as some European and South American teams that are mostly attended solely by adult men.

As a former ultra from the Balkans, it makes me happy to see the US slowly catching up. It's not perfect by any means but I'm glad to see love for the clubs. Express yourselves through it. Don't be afraid to go political, loud and explosive.

i've been a ATL united fan since we was announced ,watched the benz go up saw Josef first goal with the club first fusion goal dance with miggy first defeated club america in the campeones cup final watched us win the u.s open cup final supporter shield still in progress and now our first ever mls cup trophy
Am Euro ATL Hawks fan and accidentally run into this. As a guy that visited way too many games in European competitions and was a hooligan (like most teenagers, not exactly proud of any of it lol) turned casual supporter of an unnamed Euro club, this is pretty dam good, looks like a lots of fun but to some people commenting, this is not really European style at all, it's more of a South American style mashed with some local stuff I guess, some Italian fans have this sort of style. Pretty amazing tho, I'd gladly attend sometimes.
People keep trying to label Atlanta’s supporters culture as someone else’s, people need to understand that it’s gonna be an amalgamation of traits from different football cultures. Atlanta is a mixing pot of a city, with a small portion of its population originating in Georgia. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants from every Latin and South American country, not to mention European immigrants, has a large effect on the supporters culture
This is awesome in the fact that I am a Georgian starting to get into soccer. At the same time saddens me because first I am a huge hockey fan and this is what the city of Atlanta didn't capital on. Imagine a hockey game a crowd like this.
They still learn how to suport from our South America Barras and the European Ultras,but definitly Atlanta has made a turn point with the MLS ultras community,greetings from Brasil
