We all knew Europe would be better considering how much longer they’ve been doing it, but hats off to MLS for stepping up at a fast pace
Let's see where MLS fans will be in 10 years :)
Thanks for your comment!
So US doing basketball longwr...but still shit
I think the US is learning its about intimidating not cheerleading. A few decades and they they will hopefully step it up. Europe was a slam dunk with the Ultra's.
@@vcrossCelticfc england should learn usa fan
Doesn’t matter that they have been doing this stuff for a longer time really, the fans in Europe are just more dedicated and have a bigger love for the club and etc, pyro and diffrent chants is going on in every game but I don’t see that in the states
As a brazilian, whenever I try to describe to my colleagues the difference between an american fan and a south american/european fan, I use two brazilian words: " Fã" and "Torcedor".
A "fã" likes to watch his team, buys jerseys, go to the stadium and make his club rich, but if his club loses a match, they might be a little upset, but their day goes on. It's just another thing they enjoy, just like a good movie or a good video game from their beloved franchises. A "fã" from a club is as much a fan as a Star wars fan which lots of action figures in their cabinet, knowing all catchphrases from the movie, etc... A "torcedor" is almost like a tribesman. if their team loses, it's like their own tribe got ransacked, they won't just become upset, they whole week is ruined. If their team is relegated, they'll cry as if it's a funeral of their own parent.
When people say that an european or a south american treats a match like war, they ain't kidding. Our chants aren't mere songs for cheering our team or get some fun, they are war songs in a tribal manner. That's why, at least in Brazil, you NEVER change what club you are a "torcedor". Doing it is literal backstabbing your origins. Your club is as much part of your whole identity as a human being as race or a surname. You don't support your team because it pleases you, most of the time it doesn't, you do out of love, just like you love your own relatives.
Here in Brazil, there are many "fãs" of european clubs, telling "meu barça" or "meu real" or "meu city".They enjoy the brand, likes seeing these clubs' high quality football, even have an affinity for the club's overall vibe and culture, and might even harbor a playful rivalry, but They weren't bawling when barça was demolished by Bayern, nor when Real got eliminated by City this year.
They ain't going from Rio to Guayaquil in Equator, spending 2x their own monthly salary to travel by plane, just to be there and see his team winning Libertadores. They ain't selling their possessions , pretty much ruining their finances for years, living in debt in a third-world country, because they need to see "Timão" on the other side of the globe in Japan because it's their team's only chance of "winning the whole world", and being even more proud that Corinthians "ganhou o mundo" than when they achieved their own goals in life like their first car, their own house or a great job. They ain't crossing a large city like Salvador by foot, a city larger than most american cities, every weekend because they need to see Bahia play. They ain't a " torcedor", let alone a "torcedor fanático".
There might be american "torcedores" somewhere, whom literally understand these tribalistic impulses their club brings towards them. I've yet to talk with one.
Wow a great comment, I learned something new and it was powerful. Indeed there are different kinds of fans in every country I believe. Diehards and just entertainment fans. One suffer more due to a loss than others. One care more about the money, some more about the history. Some countries Show their love and passion for a team than other countries. And i think that is the most beautiful thing about our sport. It's all the same but so different at the same time.
Love and greetings my mate!
I like that at the end of the day we treat it as a game, because that's all it is. It's not life or death. It's not something worth losing your life over. I like that we don't have the extreme fanaticism that's present abroad, riots, or crushings. This isn't politics. It's not worth getting worked up over it. I get the feeling that some people won't be happy unless we acted like Liverpool fans.
@@gamingtheory6035 I mean, you might not need to riot over your team, but at least you ought to have some love, right? Nobody thinks american fans are cool because of this lack of passion ,with culminates with a lack of "inner culture", which means no memorable chants, no big things done by the fans such as great receptions, mobs of tens of thousands crossing the streets of another country while chanting songs, no mosaics, etc... Because no one is really into it, since these need most fans to think in a similar manner.
For example, let's say you are a San Francisco Giants fan and the next match is in San Francisco, and it's a really important one. If San Francisco was a Brazilian city,
I bet the golden gate would be full to the brim with "torcedores", receiving the team, chanting songs for the team, throwing fireworks, etc... I'd would be a little July 4th just for the Giants, when the Player's bus crossed the bridge. Who cares if people need the bridge to get to work, San Francisco Giants is more important than them, they have to wait. f they are a Giants' fan, it's justified. f they hate the Giants, fuck them haters, get bent and wait!
Here in Curitiba, where I live, my team Athletico won a national cup years ago. We received them at the airport, and the entire path from Airport to the stadium all the way to the other side of the city, which is almost as big as Chicago in population, in the middle of a Thursday Afternoon, was pretty much uncrossable. How many millions were lost due to pretty much stopping some of the most important streets in the city to receive a team? Who cares, we won the Copa do Brasil, that's what matters!
@@Bronze_Age_Sea_Person Wtf... You don't need to riot or create a disturbance in order to display love for your team. It's not a "lack of passion" to act like a civilized human being and keep things in perspective. We do have chants, receptions, mosaics, etc. You just haven't been paying attention. What we don't have is lowbrow football hooligan "culture" and weird, political extremist Ultras and the thuggish acts of violence associated with them. And we want to keep it that way. If you consider that garbage "culture," I don' know what to tell you. We already have enough problems in this country as it is.
a lot of people change citizenship, religion, ideological beliefs but never football clubs!
Thanks so much for being the one person that actually shows the REAL US fans and not the clips of bad US fans. We have some really strong fanbases (especially LAFC and Atlanta) in the MLS. Not saying we’re better, but I think that people need to stop comparing us to Europe, because we’re not trying to be better than them, we’re just trying to be the best in the US.
Very good comment and thank you so much for your kind words!
It is a good point that comparing them isnt maybe the fairest way(even tho I made that video). Its all about love for the club and for the beautiful sport we all love. It doesnt matter who is the best, we all should just enjoy it!
Greetings from germany!
Exactly! When will the Euro snobs learn that we are our own people with our own national character and identity? Stop comparing us to Europe and stop trying to force us to be like you. This is cultural imperialism.
Why? No one is stopping you to be loud and make choreography
@@milosstefanovic6603 so england fan suck
Real Footballfans in Europe knows that! I Love LAFC. (I'm from Frankfurt...)
The "fight and win" guy from seattle 😂 still a legend. But to be honestly.. the americans stepped up really nice and fast. Greez from europe
England also learn it fast and nice
Once a legend always a legend haha!

Haha yeah it is still a big difference!
But european fans are just something else!
Thank you for your comment! :)
Part of it has to do with the type of Americans that support Soccer and more specifically the type of Americans that want to be an "ultra" for an American MLS team. They are generally speaking not the blue collar worker from the steel mill or the coal factory. That type of fan generally supports American Football or Basketball.
@@loganleroy8622 ohh i dont doubt that for a second, it shows 🤣
But it's still respectable

Thanks for your comment mate!
It just would be unfair to pick the worst videos of MLS fans and compare them to europe's biggest fan bases. I try to show the best of every country and do my research.
Much love and thank you for watching!
As a Chicago fan, we still don’t know what the hell happened in Seattle and how the mental institute let that inmate escape.
Well...He just tried his best!
100000% agree. It’s Seattle everything there is wrong.
Great to see there is a evolving fan scene in the US.
Hope you keep it up, stay independent and don't stop.
Thank you so much!
My favorite part about that Seattle video is that they still do that chant to this day, and it cracks me up every time thinking about the video
Oh they still do it? Didnt know that haha!
@@FootballPassion999 yeah, but the new version is at least slightly less cringey. still cringey though.
I think everyone already knew that Euro fans would be #1. You almost didn't make fun of MLS so I guess that is a step in the right direction. Everyone always has to include that one crazy Seattle fan from like 10 years ago but hey, it is really funny tbh.
Yeah I saw a lot of comparison videos and it felt like everyone purposely chose bad videos of mls fans and that is just unfair. I tried to make a fair and even choice of videos, hopefully I did it good.
But yeah the seattle Fan HAS TO BE in it haha.
Thank you for your comment my friend!
I am a EPL lover but guys......even if this shots were from the best moments of the year its still impressive...🤯🤯🤯 trasformation that MLS did its just amazing 👏👏👏
here in Europe futbol it's like religion, but I'm very impressed from the MLS fans they did more than good 👍 👏
Yes soccer in usa more than religion, i think in Australia they don't care about soccer :)idk tho
Impressed that the MLS have stepped up their game.
I did already know about Portland Timbers and I have seen them outsing the Sounders fans away in Seattle, like when my club, the most champions of Sweden Malmö FF with 3500 away fans did outsing 36 500 Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge.
But Europe and the rest of the world is on another level, and then the crazy Greek fans were not even included in the video.
In my opinion YNWA sounds more powerful at Celtic Park then at Anfield.
Thanks for your comment!
I was surprised to when I made that video. MLS really stepped up their game. Good for them!
But ofc europe is still on a different Level. It is more than a game for us.
Yes I sadly had to left out a lot of great european countries, Clubs and fans because the video would simply be too long but I am already planning a part two and some other series. For example 2nd division football vs. US college football fans. There are just too many great clubs and die heart fans. So perfect for me haha, never running out of content!
Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss them!
To be fair brother, every club outsings the english. Malmö still good fans though
One of the most passionate fans i have ever seen are from Wydad Casablanca.
up the Timbers! and yes the Greek fans are insane, pity they were not included
Love Malmö but it's not hard to outsing Chelsea fans 😂😂😂
As someone who’s a die hard orlando city fan MLS atmospheres have been rocking for a while now. It took time but we are starting to grasp football culture. MLS is the 2nd highest attended sport in the USA. We’ve come a long way from fight and win. The majority of mls atmospheres are really good. It’ll only get better each year
Cool! I"ve only seen lame chants from the US so far, thanks for the vid. I'm really glad to see the passion
Thank you so much!
Fight and win kills me 😂
Legendary! 😂
This guy is legend
Really nice to see some progress in the movement in the USA! You might just start your journey on the Ultra way, but you should be aware not to make the mistakes we in Europe do from time to time... focus on being present and the performance of the terrace, and let the fights (on the streets) done by those who are really interested in and participating as their own wish! And for God's sake: never use any weapon!
wise words!
Finally! A European who shows actual footage of MLS Supporters. Many of us put in a Lot of time to create the Best Atmospheres possible. The Fans of Atlanta here took inspiration from the Bundesliga. Our diverse Fanbase in this League really created a Pallte to make many of these Atmosphere's a reality.
I'm glad to see that even the american supporters in MLS are getting a bit more "ultras". Welcome to the passion.
Glad that this shows the real US supporters and not the shitty ones. We have a long way to go, but the improvement over the past decade in our football culture is incredible, and many videos dont adequately highlight that.
Thank you!
I love Portland's fans! I think that they are the best in the MLS by far! My team (Galaxy) definitely has decent fans but Portland is great!
Yeah portland Fans really are great!
My favorites is Dortmund,Napoli,Milán,Barça,Sevilla,Liverpool,City and Saint Paulli
Europe is the best bro!
nice video anyway!!!

Usa is the best, europe so cool too but i hate england fan
i love to see how MLS are going up and are on right track ( even if they got far away from rest of the world ) and follow europe, south america and rest off world instead off follow rest off american sport :) love to going for a MLS game and see.. i travel arenas all around world ( over 300 arenas in 20 difrent contries in 3 continent so far ) :)
Oh wow that sounds amazing! Groundhopping is such a cool thing to do. What was your favorite country / Stadium you visitied so far? :)
Thank you for you comment!
I would love the see this energy of fan base also transfer to the NFL.
Its really interesting to see that in the MLS u can spot some cultural differences between states, like in the east part of america the tifos ar more similar to the european scenario and in the west coast its similar to the latin america torcidas...maybe because of the cultural enviroments that certain "races" are spread troughout the US
but yeah the US still have that family friendly vibe...its suposed for you to stand and defend something not just to sing some song u need to put passion in it
@@afonsofonseca5796 Part of that is how sports are viewed. Professional sports teams in the US can move around to new cities. They are only found in the largest cities. With the exception of Green Bay, Wisconsin (population of 330k), the next smallest city to host 1 professional team is Buffalo, New York at 1.1 million people. So it's about supporting the team not defending your city, because odds are most of the people traveling to the game are not from that city. I have to drive 3 hours to support my MLS, MLB, NBA, or NFL team.
If you want teams that can't move then you have to go to College Sports, but the people who go to college are not the working class people that make up the "ultras" of most European fan bases. Sporting events are about having a good time and promoting an exciting environment that is relatively family friendly. We don't need to pretend we're going to war. That's probably because if you want to go to war in the United States you can simply join the military, they've had a military engagement every decade since its creation.
I really enjoy the different cultural vibes! Thank you for your comment :)
as a turkish person who lives in seattle i love the sounders and turkiyes teams
The Americans are moving fast. For a moment I didn’t see no difference until that guy started screaming “ fight and win “😂.

Imagine being the player at one of these big games. It must stick with you for a lifetime.
That seattle souders guy still a legend 😅
He is haha!
I still remember the "fight and win" chant and I'm very pleasently surprised at how the Americans have stepped up their game!
The Us fans have definately stepped up, even the roman candles. Now we have to wait for the rivalries and ultras
Glad to see passionate American fans. MLS seems to have the best fans of all sports in North America. Only hockey really stands out.
Most Norrh American sports are sterilie. Zero atmosphere and zero passion.
Its kind of expected when your team is a franchise and can move to another city. This removes any sense of belonging or identity.
European fans have an identity with their clubs. They are born and bred to support their teams. They are passionate and will defend that passion. Few Americans understand this sense of passion.
That is totally on point! I never really understood why it is possible to move a Team to a different City in the US. That seems pretty wild for me haha!
Few european will understand that, england fan like suck it seem all of them know nothing about soccer
I would disagree with other sports not having passion especially with Americans and their college sports
Wow 50.000 views thank you so much!!!!
Passion win, i'm european and i'm proud this sport find news supporters ❤
it is very clear that they are going towards south america fanbases. the drums have bigger meaning than pyro and voices of fans. you can hear all different sounds of drums but very little of pyro and singing.
As an Atlanta Season Ticket Holder, I remember the Supporters Leadership wanting to have a Bundesliga Atmosphere since a lot of us watch it here. I love Schalke. Some of the most Loyal Fans I've ever met.
couple of years ago i watched a game of portland timbers and really enjoyed their atmosphere. Clubs with green colors cant go wrong lol.
Great that you enjoyed the atmosphere and thank you for your comment!
i think ppl don't realize the US have alot of restrictions on what supporters could exactly do during games. for example LAFC got fined 100k for having too many flares. nowhere near what Europe does but it shows what is rly holding us back
Well European teams also get fined. Think it's well below the 100k tag though
@@cryssarn it’s def not that much lol but Fs most of those countries put the sport 1st meanwhile here in US the NFL,NBA, and MLB are still bigger than MLS
It's Hilarious that LAFC got fined for that, but a lot of MLS Advertising has fans from Several Clubs Lighting it up. No Pyro. No Party.
1:05 is this sponsored by ESPN? This is something you would never see in Europe!

2:43 some american fans are latinos that sing in spanish, which makes this vid more believable bc otherwise i cannot imagine american people doing this
Well, glad that this video is believable haha!
American Soccer is a mix of Latin American and European culture. Depending on which clubs you're at in the United States, you'll find some clubs include more chants in Spanish, but don't think that it's only the ones fluent in Spanish that sing. Anyone can learn a song in any language especially if it's to support the team you love.
Bro they are American, even though they speak Spanish, they still live here
@@cu11en76 i know, but culturewise it's either europeans or latinos that support this sport over there. When i say support i mean to feel the teams, not just go to the stadium in a weekend to watch a game

It´s nice to see you having something going on in MLS ( like the Timbers ). But let´s face it, you dont have it in you. I mean the great grandad and the heritage 100 years back. No offense, keep it up!
Well I am actually from europe so I totally agree with you but it is still cool tl see, that the US is "learning". Thank you for your comment! :)
I know who has the worst. England. They literally just sit there and when their team scores they mock the fans from the other team. Seriously their entire football culture is just about mocking others.
the cheering of fans in the mls can only be compared to children in kindergarten
Well, I've heard worse comparisons haha
Can’t believe an Old Firm game wasn’t highlighted, way better than Liverpool,s bland “You’ll never walk alone”
Maybe in the next video :)
What game was the Red Star Belgrade clip from? I want to see a longer clip of it. It’s awesome.

Yeap like san Lorenzo fans or boca from argentina then brazil, uruguay also have mad, passionate ultras
Usa is america
What, Canada?
Two factors here. The most popular sport in the US is a sit-down legs-up hot-dog-in-hand boring show that is baseball. On top of that you have nearly ALL fans driving themselves in their individual cars for a watered-down family show, with the exception of a handful of stadiums within the city grid (Boston, MSG). You will never ever have the ultras atmosphere at a Patriots game if the stadium is in the middle of the f*cking nowhere.
Seattle guy solos every competition XD
FC Cincinnati, great song... and respect for this video. Greetings from Europe.
I'm glad to see you closing the gap USA but i think europe is still better and more passion, but you will get there, keep it up football is great game😊

MLS atmospheres are better than the premier league atmospheres
Thanks for this fair presentation of US football fans. This is actually representative of the fans instead of those cherrypicked videos containing only the worst examples in order to make the US look bad.
It should always be a fair competition. Of course US fans dont come close compared to European fans but they are not as bad as everyone thinks!
@@FootballPassion999 You're the most sane guy ever
@@flaya11 Thank you!
Our soccer teams have learnd from the best. Its a copy from europe. But i cant feel the passion.
The problem is American chants are awful. When I went to South Africa for the World Cup, it was same with the South African fans, no humour in the chants. English chants are inventive, sometimes dark and humorous. My fave two chants are by West Ham fans, though i am a Spurs fan. The Di Canio and Van Persie chants.
America stepped up their game. But I am still missing a real edge, that defined aggresion you feel smashing you in the head when a European side opens up chanting. Just shouting ''FIGHT AND WIN'''in a microphone is not really the way to go. Not to mention the chants with ''we salute you'' are quite cringe. Its a real U.S thing so I will expect and see them taking that way of chanting as their own way of football culture. Patriotism is a American thing but it does not really.. set your side appart as a city surrounded by utter darkness and your club being the social light in the mists.
All the other side in the U.S is needing to sing is '' You damn fools, its the same country as us '' and you are gone. Make chants of drinking all the wine like San Lorenzo in a U.S sense, or Death Chants like you get in Greece or the Balkans or go deeply into the city you live in. Chant about its history, no allegiance to the stars and stripes. Nationality should not matter. Only the club.
Once the U.S do that. I'll say they found the stairway to heaven.
But sofar. C+ for putting in and the effort. But they are not there yet.
Very interesting and good comment. You have said things correctly. The passion from european Fans comes from the love to their club and the history of their city. You can feel the energy once a chant starts and every sord is screamed out louder than the last one.
US fans did their research and improved. A lot to be fair. But the real "problem" for now is that their clubs mostly don't have a big history. So therefor the passion comes from imitating other fanbases like european fans for example. They are improving but they are not there yet. It will be interesting to see where MLS fans will be in 10 or maybe 20 years.
Thanks for you comment!
No, we don't need your aggressive types of chants that insult other players and teams, it's just a game, it's supposed to be a fun experience for everyone.

@@FootballPassion999 The passion definitely went up especially with the new additions of teams like Cincinnati, Charlotte, Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte and LA FC. I live in North Texas. The closest team is Dallas FC. Even though the team plays quite well there is unfortunately little support.

Todo lindo peroo..... La mejor hinchada de futbol es la Argentina!!!! Pasion y aguante a nuestros clubes !!!
With all the South American immigrants and increasing popularity it's just a matter of time MLS will stand out in the USA and will come close to moments of Europe's atmosphere. It will never reach the same level, because in Europe it's not only sport but also the pride of your city. In the USA a club can move to another city, such can never happen in the EU.
To be honest, The US is catching up. Great job!
Bless them, they're trying , but MLS fans are still really lightweight. There's no conviction or passion in their singing. Still just seems like American fans imitating European ones. I think it may be the culture as football, and sports in general, are just something to be consumed in US culture but it's part of someone's identity in Europe and other places around the world.
No offence but Greek Super League Ultras are out of this world. Wanna see a true comparison? I suggest watching them.
The thing is mls ultras just look like they cant be ultras or hooligans

Of course they are not but you have to say that the US fans did step up their game!

Its getting better now in mls, thats true.
But you destroy it with marching bands or cheerleaders. Don't do that. And also let the supporters organise the singing, not the speaker or music from the stadion. That's realy bad!
And its true, football is passion, emotion, and sometimes war.
youre right with everything you've said! Thank you for your comment. :)
Marching bands and cheerleaders are the stupidest thing ever.
Put American soccer beside European soccer, it's the same to put American beisebol beside European... For now there's no comparison, but American soccer and its fans are being really good, it will take a few more years to be like Europe
American soccer fan is better than england fan
Positively impressed by the US, they’ll figure it out soon enough. But Europe still is much better yet
The US Boys get better and better love it...and the LA Galaxy Beat& Babes nice a little bit like Adam bears love it...Pyro is no Crime
Hey what about the Minnesota United wonderwall win song or the believe chant in salt lake or the doop in Philly and show a better version of seattles fans.
No worries, there will be a video with more mls fan videos soon!
European soccer supporting groups are always gonna be #1 yes as a Galaxy fan it sucks to say it but Real Madrid fans cheer no matter what and all MLS groups stop cheering as soon as they start losing. Europeans cheer no matter what even in other divisions
Il miglior gruppo ultras non è quello con più persone o bandiere o sciarpe…. La mentalità ed i fatti sono determinanti
What about south american football fans (hinchas )specially Argentina? Those guys run circles around half of Europe fans.....
Already in the making :)
Europe Fans ate the best because in MLS don't exist the Ultras Mentality as in Europe does
MLS is such minor than NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, but MLS fans are more passionate than others.
hansa rostock best fans ever
Solide Nummer auch beim Auswärtsspiel bei meinem HSV, Hammer Fans!
@@FootballPassion999 danke schön. also die schalparade im ostseestadion geht kaum besser . alles für den norden :-)
i hate how everyone uses that shitty sounders chant as the main chant that the sounders use honestly. i wish that people would use some of our better examples, such as the call and repeat or literally any other chant.
Will definitely use a different video for the next compilation but you have to be honest..this dude is a legend and has more tradition than all Redbull teams combined! Haha
Atmospheres at MLS matches are solid; I’ve been going to FC Cincy games from the start and it’s heading in the right direction. Would prefer a MLS match over an EPL atmosphere any day, but you are pulling from Germany, Italy, Turkey, and Serbia where they have perfected it lol. You left out the Tifo signage from the MLS as well which is pretty comparable. Obviously though, the Europeans are better but MLS isn’t bad by any stretch.
