    I just started looking into researching this industry as I was laid off due to covid and I've only started watching your videos about a week ago and already feel so much more educated in such a short time because of you. I just wanted to say thank you for doing what your doing essentially giving back to ppl like me who are completely clueless when it comes to knowing what questions to ask etc. Keep up the great videos and may God Bless you and keep you safe out there.

    This is the most sensible video on the #1 RV transport topic that I've seen on RUclips. There are so many out there bashing the industry saying there is no money to be made. As Daniel has said, everybody's financial situation and life situation is different. It's simple common sense folks. If you have a high mortgage payment, big truck payment, credit card debt, loans, child or spousal support, etc. etc...........then no, RV transporting is most likely not going to support your financial needs.
    Very sound advice in this video folks, take notes! 👍🏼

      Yes! A CDL would definitely give you an advantage with $0.10 or more per mile. You would just need to evaluate how the case by case extra cost of wear and tear and extra fuel cost to see if it's worth it for you.

    The first first response to can I make any money is well what do you consider "making money". How much do you need to make to be happy with it?

    • @HighMileageHelper
      @HighMileageHelper  4 года назад

      Ictpilot Ictpilot exactly!! Having a load of debt with a big family plus being gone all the time would not cut it for me. I would be miserable not seeing my family and the pay probably wouldn’t be enough. Being single with no kids and somewhat small debts while only working 3-4 days a week allows me to spend even more time at home than most and I absolutely love it. There’s a threshold that everyone must consider what they are willing to do to “make money” and mine requires me to be home a lot more these days so I’ve likewise cutout more expenses to balance it out. Everyone has to decide what their lifestyle demands of them. Good point!!

    I live in the south. Takes 14-16hrs to make Kansas City. My thing is, i just need to clear $2200 a month as thats what my pervious job gave me a month. If i take insurance and the truck payment, thats $900 a month I require to make the same. My real downside is the 2 day trip alone to get north.
    I make the suggestion that noone works law enforcement or law enforcement dispatch as it doesn't pay worth squat. Especially with all the junk you and stress it puts on you. Its also pathetic that was the highest paying job in my area at 18.44hr working overnight 12hr shifts playing with peoples lives and hoping your choice was best otherwise being written up or sued.

    • @HighMileageHelper

      david Capeheart At Synergy it’s about 1/2 the miles. At other companies like Horizon, it’s probably a lot less. I still make more than enough to provide for what I need. Everyone’s budget is different, compare the numbers and see how it might work out for you. Hope that helps! Let me know!

    I asked this on another rv hauling channel and he didn't answer, so im looking into hauling rv's, i do have my CDL, so my question is there any reason that I should rather get a dually truck? I'm considering getting the 2021 gmc 3500HD single wheel drive, is there possible going to be rv's that I can't haul because I don't have a dually?

    Hey Daniel one more question with synergy is there ever an opportunity for backhauls thanks and God bless

    • @HighMileageHelper
      @HighMileageHelper  5 лет назад +3

      John Boyle Thanks John! Yes there is but they are very rare. I have taken 3 I think in 4years. They were all nightmares because they each had their own set of problems that I had to personally figure out before I could get them out on the road. Flat tire, bad electrical problem, 5th wheel wouldn’t go all the way up... I’m sure there are good ones out there but you wouldn’t know until you show up. Thankfully I had the tools and creativity to figure it out each time but it’s really a wild question if they will turn out well.
      At this point in my driving, it’s worth more to me to just go home or head to the next load and dead head back. The stress and possible problem I have to deal with is just not worth it to me. They do have them rarely but from what I see, Synergy seems to be slowly getting more backhauls. Currently, Synergy would not be the company to get hired onto for big purpose of getting backhauls on a regular basis. Just shooting straight with you. More often I hear or see Horizon guys with backhauls. Hope that helps sir!

    I don't have a truck (doubt my 1990 Chevy 1500 will cut it), doubt I'd get approved for a new one. The only thing I really have of value is my motorcycle. I'm going to sell it and try and get me a used truck to start with. My little brother owns monarchdiesel.com/ and is going to help me pick a decent one.
    I've done very little traveling. It is something I love though. Farthest north I've ever been is Denver CO or Little Rock Ar. Been as far west as S. Ca and east to Florida state line (yes I drove out of my way to the line just so i could take a pic and say i did it lol).
