Mrekk was definitely not at fault here. He said he didn't want to join tournaments because time zone difference in Australia makes it hard when also dealing with school and other life stuff. Blame mrekk is not right, but blame the staff of the tournament for breaking their own rules is reasonable. Don't blame anyone just because he overslept, its a normal thing to make mistakes
The rule about an ff after 15 mins is not a universal tourney rule its entirely dependant on the tourney itself. Also it is an automatic ff after 10 mins in corsace
It’s also a tournament run for fun playing for peanut shells, accomodate the best players in the world especially when the guy waiting has agreed to it like what are these takes screw the dam rules if there’s a chance you could get the arguably two best tourney players to vs by waiting another ten minutes what is the point of following rules like that.

Mrekk didn't tell them to let him play still and he didn't ask to get better treatment than other players again it was on the tournament team. I don't understand how people don't see that?
ok. to the people blaming mrekk for this, he is a little at fault but most of the blame goes to the corsace people for waiting a little longer for mrekk to show up instead of ffing the match outright.
I mean its a really hyped up match and I can understand why they would want to push it through. Probably didn't see the after effects tho like fking up the schedule
Just came home from work and got chewed out and threatened to be fired by my boss's boss because my boss was late today lmao That's all to say that showing up 30m late for a tournament in a video game is no big deal 💀
I think the Mrekk situation is a huge mix of a whole lot of problems: Poor scheduling on both the players parts to schedule a match for 4 in the morning for a literal child. Poor scheduling from the tournament for allowing that to happen in the first place. The match should have been auto FF'd or rescheduled for later in the day to allow for the Forum vs Enri match to be streamed live, considering it was the winners finals. (osu's golden boy does not deserve special treatment and the tournament rules should be applicable to every single individual in the tournament considering it's what they signed up for) Overall it just seems like Australia for online tournament play is just unironically bad spawnpoint
Okay, so the game for mrekk was at 10pm local time not 4am. Secondly, in a osu tournament where people are playing for peanut shells and fun, why would you bother with punctuation rules when the two best tourney players could play each other, you say “golden boy does not deserve special treatment” and to a degree you are right, however even if this was flipped and malis ended up being late, mrekk would have agreed to wait and the same outcome would have happened, at the end of the day they should have just had another stream for enri forum or started the stream at 2-3 which is where it was when the game finished, while trying to accomodate the most anticipated game of the tournament.
@@lilguycjd Firstly, fair enough, i was wrong and was going off what my friend said when we spoke about it last night lmao. Secondly, that's literally my point, the match should have been rescheduled or FF'd, preferably rescheduled because it's a match everyone wants to see. Thirdly, I understand that what I said was "golden boy does not deserve special treatment" what I realistically should have prefaced it with is that noone deserves special treatment, the rules are there so people get to enjoy playing the matches and so people get to enjoy watching the matches. If there is discussion amongst the players and the producers/owners of the tournamnent to wait for another player then that is 100% fine, and the person who shows up late should be penalised for their tardiness to a match *they* scheduled for. My main issue is mostly with the fact that people not adhering to the rules made the match eat into the time that was scheduled for another match I was personally really hoping to catch live on Corsace in Forum vs Enri because Forum is my favourite player in the game and I want to see him playing the game (and hopefully succeeding) This is another problem moreso I guess with Corsace who do not have multiple streams and instead have their schedule one match after the other (which unfortunately leads to situations like this) All things considered the whole thing stinks because if it wasn't Maliszewski and Mrekk and was instead say the match that happened on Saturday in Criller vs mcy4 and let's say mcy4 was late by 40 minutes, the match would have been auto ff'd at 15 minutes because those are the rules that Corsace outlined from the very beginning, this would more than likely be the case because Criller and mcy4 while insanely good tournament players are not seen on the same level as Maliszewski and Mrekk who get preferential treatment because like you said "they are the best tournament players" One last thing because I just forgot about it, while they may be playing for peanut shells and fun, most of that "fun" is going towards entertaining the viewers, the time limit for showing up late becoming an FF (or once again prefereably a reschedule) is there so the viewers (and casters and production and streamers and referees and everyone else on the staffing team) aren't sat there, like we were on Sunday, waiting for 40 minutes for a match that is inevitably going to be subpar because one player is going to be coming on with 0 warmup and a penalty against them for showing up late. (edit): another thing that I really need to tack on because I just went back and read your comment again, is that Forum and Enri's match should not have been sidelined onto another stream anyway considering it literally was the main event of the day (winners finals) This is especially true because both Forum and Enri were actually present before the match was meant to start (and actually even stayed in Corsace chat to talk to viewers when their match was restreamed hours later)
that's actually such an insanely stupid controversy its hilarious. 1: unfortunate that he slept in, shit happens sometimes. he's in Australia. no one is really at fault besides mrekk, and even then not really and im sure he recognizes this. its just an unfortunate situation. 2: tournament organizers should've handled this way better. should've let Malis decide if he wanted to play mrekk or not. I understand where everyones coming from about the rules, but this is a highly touted matchup between 2 of the best players in the entire world. nobody wants a match like that to end to ff. it should've been completely up to Malis whether he wanted to wait for mrekk or not. and lastly, relating back to what I just said, if the organizers wanted to have the control, they either should have just straight up waited and started the match normally, or dq'd him. one or the other. not this half measure bullshit punishment. overall, I don't think anyone is at fault, I think the people witch-hunting mrekk are simply just braindead Redditors, so I wouldn't pay them too much mind, and the overarching point being that the situation itself was just an unfortunate one that could've been handled a lot better
what makes this controversy even dumber is the fact that they did leave it up to malis, he was the one who chose to wait for mrekk, when he couldve taken the w and left, i guess people missed this.
Bro, if mrekk didn't care at all, he wouldn't even enter the match. He could literally just stream, made the same amount of money, and don't give a fuck. He still asking is it still possible for him to play, he still play even when underperforming, and the reason why is because he respects his opponent. Even if we tried to blame someone, it should've been corcase closed people who allowed it to happen, and even that is still far stretch. They could asked maliszewski to wait and he agreed, and he might asked that personally himseld
I understand mrekk how he slept in but can u really blame him. The match started at prob 11 at night for him and all he wants to do is sleep people kind of over react but i can understand why

My main issue is mostly with the fact that people not adhering to the rules made the match eat into the time that was scheduled for another match I was personally really hoping to catch live on Corsace in Forum vs Enri because Forum is my favourite player in the game and I want to see him playing the game (and hopefully succeeding)
This is another problem moreso I guess with Corsace who do not have multiple streams and instead have their schedule one match after the other (which unfortunately leads to situations like this)
All things considered the whole thing stinks because if it wasn't Maliszewski and Mrekk and was instead say the match that happened on Saturday in Criller vs mcy4 and let's say mcy4 was late by 40 minutes, the match would have been auto ff'd at 15 minutes because those are the rules that Corsace outlined from the very beginning, this would more than likely be the case because Criller and mcy4 while insanely good tournament players are not seen on the same level as Maliszewski and Mrekk who get preferential treatment because like you said "they are the best tournament players"
One last thing because I just forgot about it, while they may be playing for peanut shells and fun, most of that "fun" is going towards entertaining the viewers, the time limit for showing up late becoming an FF (or once again prefereably a reschedule) is there so the viewers (and casters and production and streamers and referees and everyone else on the staffing team) aren't sat there, like we were on Sunday, waiting for 40 minutes for a match that is inevitably going to be subpar because one player is going to be coming on with 0 warmup and a penalty against them for showing up late.
(edit): another thing that I really need to tack on because I just went back and read your comment again, is that Forum and Enri's match should not have been sidelined onto another stream anyway considering it literally was the main event of the day (winners finals)
This is especially true because both Forum and Enri were actually present before the match was meant to start (and actually even stayed in Corsace chat to talk to viewers when their match was restreamed hours later)
I don't get why bonk doesn't get the TD mod applied
that's actually such an insanely stupid controversy its hilarious. I understand where everyones coming from about the rules, but this is a highly touted matchup between 2 of the best players in the entire world. nobody wants a match like that to end to ff. it should've been completely up to Malis whether he wanted to wait for mrekk or not. and lastly, relating back to what I just said, if the organizers wanted to have the control, they either should have just straight up waited and started the match normally, or dq'd him. one or the other. not this half measure bullshit punishment. overall, I don't think anyone is at fault, I think the people witch-hunting mrekk are simply just braindead Redditors, so I wouldn't pay them too much mind, and the overarching point being that the situation itself was just an unfortunate one that could've been handled a lot better
what makes this controversy even dumber is the fact that they did leave it up to malis, he was the one who chose to wait for mrekk, when he couldve taken the w and left, i guess people missed this.
oh i see, tournament things... skip lol
While you are somewhat right, he can't just ignore that and act carelessly, that would damage his reputation
Yo stew are we not gonna talk about the mrekk 11star S rank?
Mali my goat he rekted em rekk by giving him sleep medicines
whats the skin pls
LET THE MAN SLEEP FFS
I understand mrekk how he slept in but can u really blame him. The match started at prob 11 at night for him and all he wants to do is sleep people kind of over react but i can understand why
In Australia the time was 10pm when the match was supposed to start

the mrekk controversy is actual bullshit, how can you blame him for over sleeping, bro already streams at 2am because of europe and us, like you haven't overslept ever
…… special treatment not nice
@@ReimeiNoRaimei staff's fault not mrekk's
@@osuplaeyurreallygood tbf the staff handling was very bad, I think they are to blame, not Mrekk (still disrespectful from him…)
Why does he stream osu at 2am 💀
He really should prioritize his own health rather than silly circle clicking game streams, maybe then he wouldn't oversleep some of the most anticipated matches that people literally mark their calendars to see (i can only imagine the stress and frustration of the tourney staff just sitting and praying for Mrekk to just show up already, just so that the match wouldn't have to be canceled)
