Thanks doc , for putting up a video that lays before others your personal techniques and the methods you adopt to get closer to success and perfection ! Needs great generosity of mind to do it! Keep going .
I feel sad that my Aesthetic Training course is postponed due to the pandemic. So,to comfort myself i came to youtube watching a bunch of videos on veneer and maybe learn techniques as well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Dr. Stevenson! I am excited to add this service to my patients someday. May the universe bless you with bountiful gifts! And keep you healthy, too! Lord knows we need to stay healthy these days. ❤️
I have been looking for the best supervision for this particular series for yeeeears! Before watching the other videos I'm thanking you first to get to meet you and second for getting pretty much knowledge in a very simple academic way to comprehend it easily. I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Keep showing us more videos Doctor.
That was a detailed video on the vital preprep that was so enlightening. Those seemingly small steps one takes at the outset is what helps diminish the tensions at the later stages. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
Thank you, doctor, for this amazing series. The dynamic guide is such a good idea. We learnt to just cut the silicone into halfs to look at the reduction in occluso-gingival aspect. This guide makes it way better. I watch your videos avidly to then practice the tips and tricks in the sim lab. You have helped me immensely. I struggle with finishing the procedures on time. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can speed things up? Thank you again.
Thank you for watching - you have the best attitude! I have always been slower than others and I don't worry. Slower is better than faster with less refinement. You will speed up over time...years of practice.
Stevenson Dental Solutions are you teaching treatment planning of implants, placing implants, preserving gingiva for implant restorations, and restoring implants? if you have a class that incorporates all of aspects of implants treatment. I’d pay to learn from you. you have so much dental knowledge and are willing to share with the dental community. you’re so humble. mad ✊ respect!
@@nodnalneyugn8753 Tank you - we have an Implant-Restorative Course which focuses on the restorative phase, and will soon add the Surgical (later this year). Hope to see you then!
Thank you so much for your Tutorial. Helped me a lot for my appt earlier today. Watched last night and this morning. VERY GRATEFUL! Love the quality on your videos as well. Keep up the good work! Prep Guides worked perfectly, now I have the confidence to try more cases like this!
I like the procedure i think it is so good theoretically but clinically it is time consuming and it is difficult for upper teeth becuse u need indirect vision to check that
Thank you for the great video Dr Stevenson. I can't wait to use this method of lab putty prep for my next patient! It would also be interesting to see how you would prep your lab putty for lower anterior composite build ups canine to canine. A video on that would be super helpful!
I think this putty reduction guide is used when we want to maintain the current shape of the teeth but only want to change the texture or color. What if patient is not happy with the alignment or shape of the current teeth? Would you request the waxup from the lab and then make a putty reduction guide of the wax up instead? Could you make a separate video for this?
If you do your preparations over APT (aesthetic pre-evaluative temporaries) and placing depth cuts in APT indicate you do not actually need to grind tooth enamel, do you still required to prepare gingival and/or proximal margins? How wide? What bur tipe? How do you do no-prep veneers?
Hello Dr; I had veneer procedure done yesterday for 4 front tooth. And my dentist spilled mild gum on one of the veneers; now that veneer surface on the front is very rough to touch compare to other three veneers. What would you recommend for my case?
Use the wax-up or digital design to fabricate a stent with the proposed final contours and lengths. Add a temporary material to this stent and apply it to the patient to see the final proposed veneers. If the patient accepts this and it meets your functional and esthetic objectives, you may remove this, then acid etch and bond it to the teeth and start prepping in the mouth. Use the prep guide to check your progress. After the preps are completed, remove any remaining mock up material, create a finish line and take the impression.
I've actually read about making this index in a textbook, way before, i don't remember it now Can you please help me recollect the book. I think it was some QP book
Try again Doc. Condensation reaction silicones irreversibly cure leaving ethyl alcohol as a by-product and aren’t meant to polymerize intra-orally. The reaction and the by-product can lead to polymerization shrinkage, so this kind of material is generally packaged with a highly filled putty base and a lower viscosity catalyst activator. The highly filled putty base has less polymer and results in less polymerization shrinkage. Examples of this type of lab putty are Sil-Tech (Ivoclar Vivadent) and Lab-Putty (Coltene/Whaledent). Some users report skin irritation from the catalyst and recommend using gloves while mixing this type of lab-putty. Latex gloves have been implicated in interference of the setting reaction so a different glove material is suggested.
Stevenson Dental Solutions not a problem. Can I just say thank you for your excellent videos. Watched the veneer series and absolutely fantastic. I have major concerns with placing anything but a facial veneer as feel normal excursive and chewing motions of the lower mandible will displace it. Do you have any advice for this? Other than reducing the contact ?
Great question! Lengthening anterior teeth requires a thorough understanding of dynamic function: Pathways taken by the teeth during chewing AND parafunction: the forces and patterns of wear when the patient clenches or grinds. Before embarking on a veneer case, the Functional Diagnosis must be made, and then the planning may be made. Too much for RUclips - fortunately I teach this in my Anterior Veneer course. I will put out a video on the 5-step check that I teach some time in the future - this will help...
Stevenson Dental Solutions thank you. I actually travel to America quite a lot so may consider this if the dates line up. Thank you for your reply and look forward to the video

Wonderful Dr Stevenson! I loved how you sectioned the putty. I am looking forward to see how you do temps for provisionals and how you cement them.
Thank you Doc!

Thanx for sharing dr. How can i get preparation guide for full crown preparation (zircon or PFM).
The same technique, or use the T prep. Watch my video on this...
Stevenson Dental Solutions thanx for replaying dr. Your video helped me alote and now i like crown preparation by your videos. 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much dr
We are waiting the series

Thank you!

Correct. Excellence isn’t easy.
also i was tought in dental school that gloves interact with the polymerization process of the silicone
The powder in powdered gloves contained sulfur which interfered with the setting reaction. We use powder free Nitrile gloves.
Thank you for the great video Dr Stevenson. I can't wait to use this method of lab putty prep for my next patient!
It would also be interesting to see how you would prep your lab putty for lower anterior composite build ups canine to canine. A video on that would be super helpful!
Cool idea - it's in the queue Thank you
Can it be done by putting the putty on just anterior surface ? as it may be difficult to cut it precisely
Good stuff! Looking forward to the other parts. The doctors in my office are hoping to come out to CA for some CE in the future as well!
Awesome - thank you!
Haven't watched yet but do these veneers provide full tooth coverage?
Facial and incised and some of the lingual in some - depends on the type.
I think this putty reduction guide is used when we want to maintain the current shape of the teeth but only want to change the texture or color. What if patient is not happy with the alignment or shape of the current teeth? Would you request the waxup from the lab and then make a putty reduction guide of the wax up instead? You are correct. I use Digital Smile Design for this and print a model from a virtual wax-up. I plan on making a video of this soon. Thank you!

They may be polished with the correct ceramic polishers.
@@StevensonDentalSolutions ok thank you for your reply
now that prep should be done on cast after wax up or on patient direct teeth befor reduction ?i got confused

Does it constructed on natural teeth or the wax_up?
Wax-up
