Seriously, how is it these HOAs can just randomly destroy peoples property without any agencies giving any approval? The victims should be awarded MUCH more than they get.

Here in the US we have a federal law called RICO. The racketeering and organized crimes law. I don't understand why the HOA which in most cases is corrupt can't be prosecuted using that law.

    • @bergmanoswell879
      @bergmanoswell879 Год назад

They can't. But courts are adversarial in many countries around the world, and if someone goes to the court and presents their side, but the other side either never shows up or shows up but doesn't refute anything, the court assumes the only one giving testimony is right, and rules accordingly. This is why only a true idiot ignores a court summons.
Plus, bad people like HOAs seem to irresistibly attract are usually liars - they see nothing wrong with lying in court if it gets them what they want.
What gets me though is that argument that people close to but outside of an HOA can be annexed without their consent by the HOA is literally insane - if it had any validity at all, there would be no such thing as non-HOA land, because anyone adjacent to their border would be annexed, and then a larger ring of properties would be adjacent, and after annexing that larger ring, then a still larger ring would be adjacent, etc. In very short order, literally as fast as the HOA leadership could file paperwork, the entire country would be inside of their HOA's borders.

Not knowing if this was outside the US, or even which state if within hard to know how he could have handled this, but if she acted as an agent of the HOA, every member could be liable. Dissolving the HOA might not he enough, and insurance for them would likely be voided by criminal actions. Perhaps it was all he could get, but like you I would have sued everyone and everything.

Meals, one bowl of watered down rice soup in a bowl, only meal of the day. You want a blanket to sleep on, and a thin foam mattress, you worked in the prison workshop all day. Want to actually have a meal that was identifiable, you worked harder. Want to have a shower, or soap, you were worked even more harder. Okay first of all I don't think somebody would be considered a “ honorary hoa member” without signing any legal forms. also in my book If taxes are still being paid on the property then it's not legally abandoned no matter how long it's been!
also how did that Karen think she was going to get away with it? I mean I hear a lot of people saying that Asians are very smart but apparently she was from the very very rare breed that has their heads so far in the clouds that they don't even realize their bumping against airplanes.
I'm personally glad that that Karen went to prison. and she cannot legally blame anybody else because she did do that so in the end she's the only one to blame.
and the hoa being disbanded is the cherry on top of this delicious cake of Justice! I mean it's important that you remember that no matter what you do there will always be consequences to your actions.
So to every Karen that is an hoa leader heed my advice: “ if people do not want to be part of your hoa leave them alone!!! it will seriously help you in the long run.”

    Precious antiques
    Valuable Paperwork
    Irretrievable work stored on computers
    Furniture
    And so much more
    Then there’s the building itself
That woman should be made to not only pay out to rebuild the house fully to its Original specs but to be made to pay for everything that was lost and destroyed and foot the costs for all legal fees and costs for recovering destroyed data etc
Just paying for the house to be replaced and hotel bills in FULL is not enough
And the HOA should also be held liable for allowing this to have happened
There should be a law that EACH AND EVERY MEMBER of the HOAs be held fully and complexly responsible for the misbehaviour of their Comittee members
That way they will know that they have to act responsibly and properly knowing that they will also be held responsible not only for themselves but the entire HOA community members as well

The HOA stories are fascinating but are, like the other non-HOA stories are only about the bad ones or things that have gone wrong. I personally know of good ones with decades of history. My friend lives in one of these where they have only fined and gone after two homeowners EVER and it was for blatantly aggregious things. They have a strong "Volunteer" base within the neighborhood to help seniors or neighbors that are sick and down on their luck with yard upkeep help and even meals. Dues are ridiculously low ($25 when she moved in and 22 years later raised to $30 - with no change in the last 15 years) as a result. They use that to supply multiple dumpsters brought in for Spring and Fall cleanup and also seasonal street decorations and neighborhood parties, and covering entrance area maintenance and lights. Homes in that neighborhood are highly sought after as a result. So, they aren't ALL bad, though it would be beneficial if there were a way to differentiate between good ones and bad ones provided in Real Estate Listings for obvious reasons.

Hey, as a long time viewer just wanted to say I prefer the way you did videos before with the more static images of space and everything. Having an animated opening of an angry person or something was fine but with things jumping around so much I find it harder to focus on reading/listening to the actual stories. I know I'm probably in the minority on this feeling or the odd one out but thought I'd say something in the chance you might see this Ripe.

You know the kindergarten teacher with a malicious compliance story I got a malicious compliance story for you I used to work on the docks in San Francisco and this is a 45 ft container and I'm unloading coffee sacks out of it and you know they have that landing gear underneath about maybe 20 ft back well I told the forklift driver you can't drive in the truck to pick up the bags when you get near the end because you might crush the landing gear or you might tip the container over well this guy didn't believe me and I said look let me put some pallets underneath the front of the truck because once the bags get heavy in the front and there's no bags in the back to keep it level the container is going to tip up and he said bull crap he wouldn't let me put pallets underneath it so he drove in there to pick up a pallet and he tipped the whole container up on end and the forklift got ruined the truck got ruined a whole bunch of coffee bags got ruined and they tried to hold me responsible and I said no I told the driver to let me put pallets under there and he wouldn't let me they fired the forklift driver and I got to keep my job and after that nobody argued with me on the docks about how to do the job anymore seeing as I had 25 years experience and these were 25 year old kids driving forklifts yuck yuck yuck😅
