Imagine that some people who are new-ish to the sport only knows him as the "referee guy". He's 4x WSM!! I love these mini documentaries, keep them coming.
As someone who always rooted for the biggest guy growing up, Magnus was the guy who opened my eyes and my mind to the joys of rooting for the "underdog".
Got to meet and hang out with Magnus last year in FL. One experience I will never forget, such a great person and was so welcoming. Felt like hanging out with a guy you knew for years. Such a great person, and ambassador for the sport. Also excited for his influence in the world of Adaptive Strongman.
I REMEMBER WATCHING ALL THESE STRONGMEN ,,MAGNUS VERMAGNUSSEN ,JEFF CAPES,BILL KAZMEIER, HUGO GERARD ,,GARRETT BADNHORST,,JON PAUL SIGMASON ,MAGNUS SAMUELSON ,,THE LIST GOES ON
Brilliant video, how can you not love Maggy? He was brought in as an alternate and won his first WSM then took it a further 4 times, absolutely incredible. The guy just seems so humble and down to earth and has a great sense of humour. What I also loved is that he showed that you don't need to be 6` 8" and 30 stone to win WSM!
I was a huge Jon pall fan when I started rewatching the old wsm comps, and I remember when I first saw Magnus I thought he was no Jon pall. He won his first one and I thought he's got nothing on Jon pall. But with each comp I started to really enjoy him not just as an athlete but I loved his contrasting personality compared to Jon pall. He never took my favourite spot from Jon pall but he's in my top four
One of the most flawless strongmen i have ever seen , Mitch Hooper could follow him , it was a pleasure watching this man , people talk about best ever , he has to be in the argument ,, just for his IQ in competition 💯💯
Magnus always speaks with so much humility. You can see why people know him as the ref guy and forget he's a 4x winner. It's incredible how much he does for the sport.
Won WSM his debut year! Even Mitch didn't do that. Another excellent piece in your Strongman Legends series, love these historical bits especially. I think I've learned more about this sport from your work than from anyone else alive.
Watching the farm work clips bring back a lot of memories. I'm 61 now and every time I lift a log or a sandbag it reminds me of loading hay or feedbags as a child. Farm and ranch work definitely builds a solid foundation for strength with so many movement patterns that are used in competition. Really enjoying the bio series. I remember watching all these competitions. Thanks 👍
Well done for winning 4 wsm shows it’s good to see that there is a lot of d strongman still part of all this I don’t think it wood as big if it wasn’t for the old strongman doing what they are doing keep up all the good work and thanks to big loz and liz for doing all us do for the sport
Great Video Loz! Thank you for bringing me back to my Teenage Years. I started watching Strong Man when i was 14 , when MvM came in. Such a great Man, and still with that Smile.
Really enjoyed this one , Mangus was great 4 wins and 2 seconds at worlds amazing. A really funny interesting guy and that 437.5kg on the smith squat machine alot of top guys would struggle with that now and that was 30 years ago. Great video LOZ and LIZ.
Great video! Thank you for these chances for me to learn about this sport as a new fan. A thought for a video: As someone who's only seen about a year's worth of Strongman since getting into it, I have no idea what sort of progression there's been in the numbers people are lifting in these competitions. Have they all increased? Are there any that have plateaued? It might be a fun stat video for Liz.
Great video thank you. It’s an If question? If he’d if won a 5th WSM do you think he’d be thought of in a much higher regard than he is currently? Feel he’s underrated
Someone asked if Tom wins another wsm title does he overtake magnus and I think he has a long way to go before his career is on the same level as Maggie. Winning wsm as a reserve will likely never be repeated again. And one of only 2 EVER to win 3 in a row!
Magnús Ver Magnússon is an absolute legend of the strongman. Pure talent, dedication, passion and always great sportsmanship. PS Nathan Jones was always a big bully child. Still is probably. Samuelsson taught him a lesson.
I always assumed that there was some roving team of assassins that would find and kill anyone with the audacity to be named something like 'Magnus ver Magnusson.' And of course, Magnus must have crushed all their skulls with his bare hands when they came for him. I also assume that Horst Baddenhorst must have also had a similar experience.
Sometimes I find myself a little annoyed that people seem to overlook Magnus. Maybe it's not a popular opinión but he is at Shaw, Mariusz and Jon's level. If he didn't screwed that Husafell carry to ad a 5th WSM I'm sure people would argue him being at least top 3 ever.
ahh finally. you also have to think that Iceland aint not all sunshine and calm weather , it take a certain type of person to live in iceland and that is why vikings were tough and why iceland has so many strong men as the mother nature breed you into not being a quiter or weakling.
He was my first WSM winner, then two years later Magnus Samuelsson. As a kid I thought in order to be strong you had to be named Magnus
Of course. They are the greatest.
Ditto and Maggie is soo good they named him twice
A LOT OF STRONGMAN KINDA OVER LOOK MAGNUS BUT HE SHOULDNT BE OVER LOOKED.
Maybe not a requirement, but it doesn't hurt!
Ok, noted. Next training session: 3 sets of rooster teasing, 2 sets of fighting a ram.
I tease my rooster almost daily.
Imagine that some people who are new-ish to the sport only knows him as the "referee guy". He's 4x WSM!!
I love these mini documentaries, keep them coming.
he looks great for 61 years old
How can you not love this guy. He's always smiling and laughing. I feel like he brightens the room.
M v M a true Strongman. He has done a lot to help the development of Strongman as a sport. Still doing a lot.
As someone who always rooted for the biggest guy growing up, Magnus was the guy who opened my eyes and my mind to the joys of rooting for the "underdog".
I respect him so much for what he's doing for disabled strongman. What a guy!
Magnus was and still is a great champion

Those were the days eh?
An amazingly well made video 📹👏🏼
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
Seems like a lovely guy, fantastic to hear his story in his own words. Great work Liz!

This is very well done Liz. This could be a documentary on Netflix or Amazon. RUclips's algorithm is clueless at times.
Thank you! I’m very critical of my work but this is one of my favourites 🥹🫶🏼
Another excellent entry in your Strongman Legends series
Has always been my favorite Strongman💪
What a great human! He seems so personable.
Absolute legend who keeps on giving for the sake of the sport. That throwing event in the '96 WSM looked like fun btw
This was very well done.. Magnus will always be my all-time favorite strongman.

Buetifully edited Liz FANTASTIC
Magnus always speaks with so much humility. You can see why people know him as the ref guy and forget he's a 4x winner. It's incredible how much he does for the sport.
Still in great shape!
Magnus' legacy has and will continue to shape the sport for the better. Thank you Magnus.

A story worth telling. A true champion 👍💪👍☀️☀️
This series is fantastic and this episode is really nicely done. Great work Liz
Such a great mini documentary! Magnus is incredible
MvM was the winner of my first ever discovery of World’s Strongest Man. Thank you for this. So glad he’s around and involved in the sport.
Well done guy's! Thanks for the history on Magnus.
The MVM Classic is my favorite show to watch
Please keep doing these!

Just shows that strongman might be the best training for real life.
Fantastic. My favorite growing up, and I think it’s a shame that he doesn’t get mentioned along with Pudz, Z, and Shaw
He was my first strongman ever to watch and never missed one since thanks for this Loz
That was bloody good Liz!!! Keep it up and thank you
"I don't know what those Icelanders be eating" I love that quote. I laugh every time
Absolute legend. He's done an incredible amount of good for the sport and continues to do so.
Legendary competitor, legendary champions, legendary referee. If there is ever a strongman hall of fame he needs to be the first entry.
Another great strongman biography! Thank you Liz!
Following John Paul was a rough act but Magnus did it in an even tougher period. A great Athlete
Tough act.
He is still my favourite strongman to this day.
This brings back so many memories of broadcast TV channels in the US syndicating old World's Strongest Man competitions at odd hours of the week.
Great tribute from a great strongman couple to a great strongman founder!
This is awesome! Loving all the old footage!
Great video. Magnus is a great ambassador for the sport, a great referee and a living legend!
Great content Loz !! Memory lane for sure !! Iceland for sure produces some special Strength Athletes ❤
Absolute legend, loved watching him compete.
This shows why Magnus is a f***ing LEGEND! 👏👏👏

Beloved and admired 🫡
Worth the wait!
Anyone Else remember watching this guy on eurosport as a kid?
such a great guy and amazing strongman.

Great content!!💪🏻
I use to stay up late to watch this man compete. Truly a Man amongst Men
Magnus is a Nice Gentleman , Very Classy man, Thanks from this Persian Freedom lover kid, Free Iran # Mahsa Amini , Long Live Democratic Iran -- NCRI
Fantastic athlete
Loved waching him back in the 90s one off my 2 faveret strong men!! the other was geff capes.
Everyone loves Maggy!
3:06 Watch out! My man is launching cannon balls!
Imagine the damage if someone did this on the current setup
Only knew it Magnus Ver as a referee so really interesting to see his past, great video 🎉
Brilliant video!
I found this video finally! yay
i still loved watching curl winch! no idea if that is a great test of strength but i did love it
Love MVM. He seems like such a nice, genuine guy. ❤️And, of course, an incredible strongman.
Ah great video!
Magnus was my first role model as ideal combination of strength and athleticism. Now he is my role model for aging well ;)
Great video! Thank you for these chances for me to learn about this sport as a new fan.

pretty sure they have a video about this. Look for a video of theirs with the title "worlds strongest man too light" or something like that
@@cisrael468 ah OK cool, thanks!
Here's the video :) ruclips.net/video/2B6OTFE-BFw/видео.html
@@BigLozOfficial thanks!
As always and with just a very few exceptions the very best are just so modest
THE BEST!
Definitely not the biggest physically but the biggest heart and god damn strong! My absolute favorite all time high ❤❤❤
True legend 🙌
Good, man
Great video thank you.
It’s an If question? If he’d if won a 5th WSM do you think he’d be thought of in a much higher regard than he is currently? Feel he’s underrated
how would magnus ... at his prime... do against the current WSmen?
Could you do one on Gérard badenhorst sorry if I've butchered his name.he had a long career and was a character
Someone asked if Tom wins another wsm title does he overtake magnus and I think he has a long way to go before his career is on the same level as Maggie.
Winning wsm as a reserve will likely never be repeated again. And one of only 2 EVER to win 3 in a row!
9:20 WSM politics and injuries aside these two guys combined would have likely had a dozen or so WSM titles between them.
All those nights with Magnus paid off Liz! 😂
Magnús Ver Magnússon is an absolute legend of the strongman. Pure talent, dedication, passion and always great sportsmanship.
PS Nathan Jones was always a big bully child. Still is probably. Samuelsson taught him a lesson.
Hey guys, are the Sunday night live streams all going to be members only from now on?
Hi, no the lives will be back to public from this Sunday onwards.
@BigLozOfficial cheers guys, also great vid on Magnus
Goat
Video request: growth of the sport in the disabled community, possibly narrated by Magnus ver, with video footage of impressive lifts.

And then in later life he name came known as Sexy Magnus!!
💪💪💪
❤
ahh finally.

People focus on how Magnus could've won in 92, but it was Jamie Reeves who should've won. He was screwed on the overheads and the front hold.
Yet, for some, him being the judge of Thor's 501Kg deadlift still isn't good enough.
