I really like those tips for getting each stem to sound better to mitigate the few small negative effects of separating them. They did sound much better afterwards. Thanks!
I've never touched FL Studio until right this second, mate: this tutorial is incredible! You're so coherent and concise. I don't know nothing about anything but this video truly helped me out. Thank you so much!! I couldn't locate the button that plays the different stems but the fact that you left that in the video showed me how to do that. It's small things like that that truly make a tutorial like this phenomenal. Seriously, thank you, thank you! Now I'm on my way to make the mashups of my dreams! :D
@@FireWalkMusic yes I've been watching your tutorials from the beginning more or less. I wondered why I hadn't seen anything new from you recently and had to search for your channel and to my surprise I wasn't subscribed 😞 I had to mention it.
Wow this works better at isolation than using Adobe Audition for karaoke. With adobe audition it messes with the quality of the instrumental but, now that I have FL I'm def using this instead for my karaokes :D
Its a nice feature but I have only had good results pulling vocals off and drums. And with vocals if there are like ooohs and aahs they don't pull off to easy or not at all. But I just pulled a vocal off a 25 year old mix and I was pretty impressed
It's a bit hit or miss, as with all these AI stem separation tools. It depends on a lot of factors, like the sonic content in the song, as well as the audio-quality of the song itself. Low-bitrate mp3 files will almost always produce significantly worse results than a lossless format, like wav. The vocals can sometimes overpower other elements in the background. In some tracks where you have a lot of people singing simultaneously, and they are very up front, then there isn't a lot of information left from the original instruments in the background, so they will tend to drop in and out quite a bit when the vocal is removed. Audio compression can also play a role. If a track is extremely compressed, with a very restricted dynamic range, the result will also tend to be worse. Extreme auto-tuning and vocooded vocals will also tend to mess this up. However, if it is a well-balanced mix with instruments and a vocal that does not clash much, the mix isn't too busy, and the audio quality is optimal then it can produce some excellent and very usable results. :)
Indeed! It can be very useful on various samples too. Especially now that there is also fl cloud. You could just drag in a sample, split it into stems and extract just the atmospheric elements from it for example.
Not exactly, but you could try separating it into different stems first, and then use this technique it on the bass, vocal and instrument stems to get the notes: ruclips.net/video/pd-pCh8UjCk/видео.html

Nice feature but why the hell should we download it separately? And from where? It doesnt work on my computer at all. FL cant connect to internet regardless what I do, firewall settings, etc. Hope they fix it in the future. I have 21.2 btw
I have the same version (v21.2 build 3842) and I didn't have any problems. It downloaded it in about 5 seconds. To be fair though, I have a gigabit internet connection. What took a while was separating the song into stems.
I believe it's because the processing is partially happening in the cloud. When I split stems in FL it takes about 20 seconds. When I do it in Izotope RX, it happens locally on my computer only, and it will usually take 8-9 minutes to complete for a typical 3:30 minute song, so it is much slower. Verify that your image-line account settings are correct. If you can't make it work then I recommend that you contact image-line on the official forum, or submit a support ticket. They are usually pretty quick to reply.

@@FireWalkMusic Thank you for your reply, and one question more, I want to purchase a laptop for music and video production, should I go with gaming laptop like asus rog or normal laptop with same specs as gaming laptop like asus zenbook ?
@@PoshTajir Gaming laptops are usually pricier because they have a pretty beefy and expensive graphics cards, and you don't really need that for music production. I would go for one with the best CPU. A 3000 series GPU will be more than good enough. You don't need the newest 4000 series for music production. There are some plugins now that can take advantage of GPU acceleration but it's not many, and even older GPU's will provide more than enough power for that.
