Wow, I've been spending hours on the systems problems and you just made it clear in 2 minutes. Thank you!

This is an amazing series. The only thing I'd change is to not reveal the answers immediately. That's such a small criticism though. This might save my ass for the AP exam.

When treating systems as objects, can you explain why certain forces aren't considered when treating the system as a single object? I don't understand why tension is disregarded and would very much appreciate help because I am taking the late AP exam next thursday.

You can ignore internal forces since they exert equal and opposite (therefore cancelling) forces on the system. For example one tension tries to speed one of the masses up, and the other tries to slow the other one down, so they offset since they’re internal. Friction would be an example of a force that’s external to the boxes system.
