I know! It is just that first round that is tricky! Have you tried the ch 2 method to start a circle? That's what I use; I think it's simpler than the magic ring: ruclips.net/video/ylpyaD2NQNw/видео.html

Honestly, thought it was going to be a make-up compact and puff. All you would need to do is choose a silvery wool for the mirror part and a fluffy type one for the puff! Now I suddenly want to go see someone make a whole make-up bag of crocheted beauty products!
