A giant lysimeter system has been installed in a date plot at the Southern Arava Research and Development Station in order to study the relationships between the crops, land and water. The lysimeter, a unique tool to measure water and salt balances, was built thanks to the support of the Asch family of Philadelphia, friends of JNF USA.
I love Arava , AICAT
The best tasting dades I ever had are from Israel. Great to see them develop the land.
Good luck
You people are awesome , a friend from India.
great work
I love Israel
THAT IS GREAT!!! COULD YOU GROW OTHER CROPS IN THE MIDDLE ROWS THAT HAVE NO TREES? EVEN KNOWING THE LIFTS HAVE TO GET IN TO HARVEST THE DATES, COULDNT THE LAYOUT BE FIGURED FOR LETS SAY OTHER TREES FRUIT TREES NUT TREES GRAPES ETC...??? JUST ASKING OLD ONE LEGGED JOSEPH T RETIRED NAVY
This was 3 years ago. Have they expanded the date trees?
I Love Israil
God bless you israilians ,Long live Israil ,
I’m surprised that the more advanced GROASIS water box is not being used. ?
I love Israel i wish I will visit israel one day
I love in thar desert ..
But we have water ..
Thanks to canal which takes water from himalaya to western india desert ..
I will plant dates ..
And figs
Growing in sahara my experience is just a litle ground cover leaves and other organic material saves me a lot of water and I awoid salt building up in the soil.
What is the distance/spacing between each tree?
Can you explain again ..? How do you get water in this desert to grow dates tree ..?
Can we get tissues of the Megdol type?
Why don't you farm and plant dates all the way to the border with Jordan?
This in which country i like this
what do they do with the leaves they cut from the date treas - do they leave them on the ground below as mulch?
Good question. Like chop, and drop mulch. Sometimes they leave them hanging down on the trees as protection.
Is this 18by 4 fit size possible
GREAT ISRAEL
Hi .
Yeah , my encouragement for your efforts but you should make the soil green under the plam trees like we do here in the oasis of Tunisia ...
Meaning growing grass and vegetation under the trees , plant vegetables and this creates a micro-climate that lower temperatures and retains water-vapor that helps the vegetables and trees ... and the cycle repeats it self and self sustain ...
You should do it ...
Also if you can , try to avoid pumping nearby fossil water resources for your oasis , that would be a trap that depletes the ressources in addition to making the soil saltier , a huge mistake we made since the 60s in our oasis here in Tunisia ...
They take the water from more than 1 km under the surface
Farming in Stolen Lands
You can't steal what was originally yours.
@@standunitedorfall1863 well then romans will come one day and ask for their land
Is there a thing called Israel 🤔!!!
Stupid question. But then you don't believe that the God of the Bible exists, and gave that Land to them.
Religion of conquest never ever stole anything? Just an ugly vicious rumor. POScake.
Farming in a land stolen from native people.
NO! Learn world history. That whole area was divided by the world community many decades ago. Israel for the Jews, and Jordan for the arabs. It is YOU who are greedy, and want what isn't yours. You can't have it!!!
@@standunitedorfall1863 calm down Shlomo ne need to impolite. Despite your attempt to twist history, fact are fact😉
Don't be a Dumbass.
@@standunitedorfall1863GREAT, THE LAND BE BELONGS ISRAELIS
Palistine is not in Europe.
its palestine land....
Nope. There is no such thing as palestine. That name was given to Israel by the Romans over 2,000 yrs ago. That is NOT it's true name. The arabs were given jordan. Go there.
