Years ago I made one work by just shorting the axle tubes . Unless you absolutely love the wheels don’t advise . Shit ton of work and a few trashed cut parts that wouldn’t fit . But it still rolls around NJ to this day somewhere up there
I'm wanting to run the torque thrust 2s 22x9 22x11 265 30 up front 295 30 in the back 4 7 drop will it clear or need to be trimmed an rolled a lot? And am I going to run into problems wanting to drive it a lot? It's also a step side.
At the time this video was made, they did fit with minimal issues. We trimmed the fender lips for extra clearance. The front did stick out beyond the fender because we used regular drop spindles. We’ve redone this since going back to stock spindles and drop shortened control arms and springs.
I have 15" stock steelis, and now it rubbed the back airbag and popped it twice, in the same month i dont know wats wrong tires are 275/50/15 so they are pretty thick tires.any suggestions??
The airbag sits pretty close to were you weld yours in the rear on the brown obs truk u build on ur vids i watched everyone trying to figure out my issue please help
On my bagged laying frame hard af 91’ stepside Silverado I run 22x10” with a +30mm offset never had a problem. Back in the day I used to see guys modify either adding an inch to the fender etc…looks like shit!
Sure. The 88-98 trucks were an updated to a whole different platform from the c-10 you have. Your truck was the last c-10. Then, in 99, when Chevy updated the sheet metal again, everyone in the truck game started calling them “new body style” or NBS. So anything before 99 was called an “old body style” or OBS. When they updated them again in 2007, they started calling those “new new body style”, or NNBS. Which is sorta silly haha But the OBS name stuck.
You can lay out a stepside just as ez. the width of both beds at the wheels are the same. but if your wheels are to tall you will have to raise the fenders on the stepside
I seriously don't understand RUclips, i hate trucks that are low like that. And no i don't go out of my way to hate on them, thats your choice to like them and im not gonna interfere. I will admit it looks nice but i prefer functionality over form. I havent even searched rims or tires or even suspension so im at a loss
I got a 98 obs c1500 with a static drop 22x10 concave all 4 wheels with 2.5 inch lip. I love it. 😎
They tuck fine on my bagged obs!!!🤷🏽♂️
Im going 22s with low profile im taking a gamble wish me luck!!!!what tire is the skinniest i can get????

what about the front ? tire size
What about bagging a 92 suburban with 24s on it will it tuck them
Yup sure will, lot of floor to cut in the back to lay tho

We had to trim the lips in the rear and front on these. So I’m sure you will have to do the same
What ended up happening? Just got a set

Put a pair of hugh TUBs and stuff 28"s in that fender!!
Not the look or build we are going for on this one
I’m planning on a set of 20 x 8 set of those exact wheels on my 03 S10
What’s the name of those wheels?
US Mags Bullet in gunmetal
@@CarportCustoms thank you
But an ‘03 S10 is worth less than the wheel set you’re considering.
If bagged what size u recommend for no axle shortning but its body dropped 1993 chevrolet suburban lays frame but 8 dont know what rims to get
just need to make sure the offset and backspacing is right
open eyes vide 👏
22x10.5” will tuck. Check out my videos of my obs.
Jst cut rear end guy in its good what u mean lol my shiiii tucks on 26”s on a 96 obs stepside

Man that looks so freaking ugly idk why anyone would want that garbage on any vehicle much less a truck.
295/30 or 295/25 which will look better?
And what tire size are the front?
Thinking about getting 245/30 in the front
A shorty rear end should do even with a 12” upset
So that fitment would work fine bagged on a regular shortbox. Gotcha
Yea with a lil work
Would that be the same clearance as a fleet side im looking at ordering the same wheels for my obs 4/8 drop
yes
Thanks for the information
i got the same wheels but in 10.5 inch i believe but i only paid 1685
The airbag sits pretty close to were you weld yours in the rear on the brown obs truk u build on ur vids i watched everyone trying to figure out my issue please help
Seems to me the wheels and tires are too wide. Send me a pic
Ok were could i send u a pik would gladly love ur help and wisdom

Is that’s a performance contractors shirt 😳
Sure is. That’s my 8-5 job. Been with them 14 yrs
How can you end it without a full body shot with the wheels! 😂
It used 2 have 22s and they fit perfectly and layed frame but i cant remember the dimensions of tire or wheel size
our tire height will lay frame. its the offset and width of the wheels that are the problem
What size are the rear tires on those? 295?
295/30 on the rear
DAMN THERE NICE TOO 😍
C notched?
Under bed cnotch
Iv always been confused why they call this a OBS I have a 83 C10 and Iv never understood the " old body style" saying. Can someone educate me on this

The 88-98 trucks really started the truck customizing craze, so those style trucks where the “starting point” for the whole truck game.
What's the tire size on the rear?
295/30
Who cares?
@@briankissel7661 maybe someone running a 22x11 on the rear of a lowered obs? Just a guess.
So use a regular bud I Sean so many step sides not Abel to lay frame

I have the same shirt i work for Performance Contractors Inc.
As the wheel goes up it goes in so it would clear.
No sir no negative camber here
Nice 👍👍🇲🇽🇲🇽

Lmao dude said "its on a static drop 4/6"🤣 far from static my guy
Any drop not done with hydros or air is a static drop.
First question should be why do I have a stepside?
Because they are the sexiest
So you can step on the sides, duh!
right lol
IMO lowering trucks is one of the stupidest things ever.
Well that’s your opinion, glade we do what the customer wants at Carport Customs.
Freakin clown car wheels. Anything over 18" is out of proportion on that truck.
We always down to clown
Thats just boring
Ruin a good truck
Please explain how it is ruined
@@CarportCustoms because it can no longer be used as a truck.
What “old body style” is that.
No more rim than tire means you aint doing truck things just get the fucking Cadillac
