Yes, the smithing stone 1, and it's soul-crushing when I saw it like I'm asking myself why the fuck I'm playing this DLC lmao

For the fact that someone may enter the DLC at level 70, the lower level smithing stones is not completely outside the realm of necessity. But it does become a little frustrating to battle the devil pelicans and receive a smithing stone 1. 😂 I am not finished exploring every area (just got all map fragments yesterday) so I don’t know if there are merchants, but so far I’ve noticed none and those would be very helpful to purchase items like the hefty cracked pots.

Oh yeah, can we get a blacksmith that’s Master Hewg level designed to smith the new weapons only? He can have a backstory and NPC line where the purpose of the scadutree fragments is explained better. I first thought they were completely consumable so I was leery about using them. Then I read about their purpose and how they stacked and it made fighting a few bosses better. I still saw HP reach zero several times but I lasted longer than before using them😂😂

yes the reused bosses is an issue but the reuse of the dancing lion was great because the one in the world has new various of moves which is the correct way to reuse a boss, but still mad about 2 of the furance guys that can't be tripped thats bs also how you deal with them is counter intuitive

I'm with you, the tree sentinels, tree spirits, and falling star beast, and tiba mariner can screw off.
I definitely would have like a few more new enemies and bosses tbh. Nothing to crazy, like 2 more mobs and 2 bosses to replace the ones from main game. I also wouldn't have minded fighting that Yoda like demi human again, he was fun, so like, they could done him. Or the hippo again but not in a closet this time wouldn't be bad.
See, I can get down with 1 or 2 rematch, but with ER we fight the same bosses sometime up to 10 times. And some of the different bosses are really not different enough, like draconic tree sentinels and regular, and putrid tree avatars and tree spirits vs regular one.

Everyone i talked to who thinks it's difficult are on NG+ half of whom forgot they were on NG+
The only enemies so far that i found obnoxious were messmer and bayle, because they are far too aggressive for my preferred playstyle

Only bosses I got mad at but ultimately like we're the scadtree avatar and the final. Scadutree avatar because he just kept coming back, lol. He got me good on the 3rd phase the first time because I started to kick back. When I got jumped, I was like, bruh wtf, is this boss glitched? Lol.
Final boss is just brutal. But in a good way, kind of. They may have overturned him just a bit. I can't imagine trying him on ng+3 or higher, lol.

I think the damage the bosses do is fine and I can tank about 5+ hits with phys dmg negation buffs and talismans. But I do agree the bosses have way too much HP. I haven't experienced the "bosses do so much combos and leave you little room to get hits in." But i did experience bosses being a bit more aggressive than usual.

I think damage negation talismans and phys are some of the most important things to use on your first playthrough.
I probably would have died on the final boss at least 50 more times had it not been for damage negation.

I have had zero problems with any boss so far in the dlc and have just arrived at the final area of it. I believe if it is too difficult it is because you do not understand how to negate damage or do not utilize dmg reduction properly. Hell you may even be using gear that causes you to take more dmg because you think it will help your build dmg the boss faster…. It’s not it’s prob killing you. As for the fact of lower level stones whatever really there are new weapons we want to try they are throwing you a bone.

I agree. Most people don't utilize damage negation.
As for smithing stones, in my opinion most people should have the bells to buy them anyways, the dlc should only give you ancient smithing and somber and alot of them for that matter. You should be able to try most weapons at level 10 and 25 and not 9 and 24.

While i do agree that seeing more tree sentinels, tree spirits, falingsrar beast and other old boses sucked, im not mad at a dancing lion rematch. 10 dancing lions would be too much, but 2 is fine. I woulda been happy to fight a second yoda demihuman, especially over reusing main game bosses.
After going through the forges, and having no boss, i now get why they reused so many bosses in base game. I do understand they can only do so much, but even just a couple new bosses instead would been nice, instead of bringing back old ones.

one minor correction. You said "everyone" wants a challenge. That's not entirely true. there are many people that genuinely prefer exploration and discovery more than challenge. I've never played dark souls game for that very reason. I only play Elden Ring due to the atmosphere and open world environment. I was genuinely hoping to play the DLC to get more powerful so I can finally beat the Elden Beast and Melania. But it turns out, most of the DLC bosses can wipe the floor with all the End Game bosses. At least they do in the bosses "vs" videos I've watched. Not being able to beat Melania or the Elden Beast was fine for me because I beat all the other bosses and experienced all the other content. But hitting the same wall at the second story boss in the DLC, Rellena, is just not fun for me personally.

The problem with the DLC is that people believed that it will bring something new, something refreshing but it was exactly the same thing. No matter how much the players are trying to fool themselves shouting on the roofs about their love and dedication for a ga me or another thez still are longing for something different. That's why most of the people are playing the games just once at most and, they uninstall it cos knowing how really enjoy experimenting with a game is a rare gift that few posses.

You have new mechanics, new weapons, sorceries, incantations and etc. Not to mention a huge map, bosses and enemies.
