When Im looking at cars to see if they are moving from an intersection or driveway, I watch the wheels. You can get a better sense of their movement, or lack of movement, by looking at the wheels of a vehicle.
I have owned Allstate, Jawa,Kawasaki, Harley Honda Kawasaki, and yamaha's. The two brands I had to spend the most repair money on for repairs was the 4 Harley's and the 5 yamaha's. Least repair money spent was Allstate moped the Jawa and the 5 Honda's and the 3 Kawasaki's Started with a 58 Allstate moped than I got a 150 yawa. Rode that from larchwood Iowa to Remer MN. And back when I was a teenager. Might have missed a few bikes. Can't remember. Lol
Rode today. No gloves no boots no jacket 🤣 today is maintenance day and I cleaned the chain and needed to dry it before chain wax application. Riding was all inside my estate, 18 mph maybe 22 or 25 mph tops. The only time I'll ride that way. I'm also listening intently to the bike noises trying to get ahead of new issues needing addressing before they get to become big issues. No traffic, just everyone hiding inside in the air conditioning but I'm still alert. Once that slow leisurely ride was done I lubed the chain and put the bike up for the day as is my daily commuter. Maybe tomorrow I'll do a chain gap measurement and adjustment. Small short bursts of maintenance on days off so it's never one big chore.
Been a bikie and a biker now just someone who loves to ride with me and the better half , we do short trips long trips all fairweather now , as for the worst motorcycles i have owned and that cost me the most and gave me the biggest pain in my arse money and breakdown wise was my beautiful Harleys . As for a bigger bike to do longer trips my 750 has done it all with no drama just as good as my former much larger bikes and easier to handle . So i guess im bias love my Shadow lol . And yes complacency is the biggest danger to our two wheel friends, as i tell any new riders expect the unexpected keep up the good work Tim .
Great comment and excellent point about smaller bikes doing big rides. Unfortunately, Harley seems to be the winner as far as breakdowns and overall costs for repair. To me, this is sad but not unexpected.
@@meandmyshadow7839 I use my X4 almost exclusively either in 360 or single lens mode. The audio can be tricky but I like the ability to change angles……….
I am not a biker... not yet a motorcyclist either. Finally got most of what I want on my bike except crash bars with highway pegs and I be done. I have rode in parking lots working on my starts and stops. I am having lots of trouble getting past the fact the bike weighs 500 plus pounds.. Just nervous about dropping the bike or stalling. My hubby says just get on road and ride. 🤯
He is correct. But stay in the neighborhood until you are more comfortable. You will know when you are ready. Practice is great, but at some point, you just have to go for it.
us humans are fickled lol. Had a Harley, spent more time at a rally looking at the Hondas, went back to Hondas , spend more time looking at Harleys lmaoo
I am a motorcyclist who cosplays as a biker. It is a side effect of watching Sons of Anarchy too many times! On another note, is you like SoA you will like Mayans MC.
@@meandmyshadow7839 Lol! That one was fun but I wish the lighting/editing was better. I've been wanting to do something similar with one of those shows but can't find a good clip that would work.
i've never considered myself as a biker but a motorcycle rider,or enthusiast.wind in your face bugs in your teeth and hair that is a mess{ ha ha }.biker to me meant belonging to a gang or club and i don't like having a leader,i'm fine being alone riding.by the way enjoy your videos i even watch them more than once
Okay, first of all, thanks for your viewership and liking the videos that much. Honestly, no one, not even me, has ever commented that they watch the kids more than once!!! Second, I agree with you. Motorcyclist, not biker.
I always say I'm not a biker I just ride a motorcycle like you. These guys will all the money spent on Harley stuff and tattoos and all the other garb has it ever impressed me. Guess they think it really makes them something more special than the rest of us. To me it doesn't. Just me I guess.
Not just you, I tend to agree. I'm not faulting those who may need that type of identity. However, I personally have never felt the need. Great comment!!!!
I am a new rider and bought a new 2023 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT on July 20, 2024! I love it
Welcome to the motorcycle riding community!!! Congratulations on your new bike. The rebel 1100 is an awesome bike!!!! Great choice!!!

Excellent comment and point!!!! I know this but forgot to say it in the video. Thank you for the contribution and also for watching, of course!!!
Goodbye to GoPro?! I know no such thing!!! 😉 Camera and view look great. Congratulations on the climb to 2k bud.
Thanks man !!!! I'm really enjoying the results!!!!!
Always be aware and give yourself time by not speeding. That's my motto. :-) I"ve been riding 12 years. No accidents/incidents.
Thanks for the really great advice. Speed does kill. People hate to hear this, but the speed limit is there for a good reason. Great comment!!!

Dang, that's a lot of bikes!!!!! I'm jealous, but it's good to know that Honda falls into the least repair category!!!

Way to pace yourself on the maintenance, especially in this heat. It sounds like you take awesome care of your motorcycles, and that is awesome.

For a bigger bike, I recommend a VTX1300 or 1800. They are basically larger Shadows.
Those are excellent recommendations!!! I really love the 1800. I have test ridden both, and the power, compared to the 750, is amazing!!!

Me as well!!!! The biker table definitely doesn't fit me.

Awesome!!! Me too!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment!!!!
I've always called myself a motorcycle enthusiast, never a biker.
I feel the term biker has got a bad rap from way back.
Agreed!!!! There is definitely a stigma attached to calling yourself a biker. I prefer motorcycle enthusiast myself.
