Tim you nailed brother
re-watching some videos. Yeah, they dont want you taking the new bikes out on the road especially if they know you already ride a shadow. you won't want to spend thousands more for the same power you already have lol
That makes perfect sense. Mystery solved. Thank you!!
That guy Tim sounds like a butt, you should have taken the bike and got some 16 inch apes put on, ditched the windshield, cut out the baffles, rode up to his house and kissed his wife...that'll show him lmaoooooo
I love watching motor-vlogs, they get me through days when the weather or health keep me stuck inside lol
my cardiologist and oncologist support my riding 100% they both love how I show up for testing in a calm relaxed mood, my blood pressure is good, I dont flinch when they stick me, and I always have an upbeat attitude considering the circumstances , especially at the cancer center. My oncologist and the staff love me because I always bring others waiting a smile to their day.
That was Tim Ringing You at the End of the Vid wasnt it 😄
Actually Tim's wife lol
@@meandmyshadow7839 😄😄😄
Out on mine right now, pulled over for a visor clean and cig. Pirelli route, best tyres so far for it. Heavy lump and over all crap feel with Dunlops. Michelin confident grip bad wear patterns on front.
So you're saying Michelin are the best?
Grip Michelin commander is up there, touch more grip confidence on them but the bad wear makes them meh. Pirelli Route is holding well all round and by far the best so far. Dunlops are just bad, fast wear so not cheaper in long run. Makes the bike feel horrible heavy and chunky just a hell no from me on them.... Mentioned tyres because they make a 💯 difference going from Dunlops to Pirelli.
Yeah, send my thanks to that guy Tim! 😂 Love the bike!!! I have the Mustang seat too, and it is well worth it.
Lmao
Good talk.
Thanks
Glad you are back in the saddle! I chose the like button.
Thanks brother
Congratulations on 1k subscribers, btw!!!! Awesome achievement!!!
Great channel. Ditch the music.
Thank you for watching and for commenting. Quick question: Did you mean ditch the music completely or just change it up?
@@meandmyshadow7839 Oh good question! I think the music subtracts from the video. We want to hear the sound of the bike and you speaking. Just my opinion. Thanks!
@ccohen1965 Okay, that is helpful. Thank you.
I feel it depends on the topics, unless its a topic based on either a repair or some sort of drama base, people don't really care to click, unless your a Harley rider, then i feel people jump on it... I haven't been able to get out to much, lately it hasn't even been 10celsius out
10 Celsius is freaking cold man. I don't blame you as I would be hunkered down with a hot coffee and a fire. I guess that I'm screwed as I hardly ever do any repair videos and have no plans on buying an HD anytime soon.
@meandmyshadow7839 i braved the cold a week or 2 ago when it was around 15c but that was it. I can't afford a harley and I'm not to sold on them anyways so I'm with you!
@motoalley brrrrrr man, you are actually making me cold reading this lol
@meandmyshadow7839 🤣🤣 it was definitely a cold ride but eh no snow so gotta take advantage
@motoalley You are a braver man than I.
Lost my old man in my 30s, 15yr ago we weren't close at all but still a kick in the guts enjoy the time you have with your loved ones beyond that there is no preparation. Tried a windscreen on the shadow, ebay job, had to buy metal clamps the plastic ones failed instantly. Took her for a ride and got massive front end vibrations, felt like start of a death wobble. Bike 💯 without them. Turned for home and ripped them off asap. Windshields are just not for me, instantly was missing the wind. Really wanted to try to cut down bugs on visor though.
It sounds like you really gave it a good try with a windshield, and it just didn't work for you. I understand completely. I have friends that would never, and I mean, NEVER ride with a windshield. They say that's what the helmet visor is for. Lol
Welcome back buddy
Thank you sir. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
is there a reason I can only respond to a post and not just post on my own?
Thinking of you Tim. Take the time you need to be with your Dad. I spent the last three days of my Dad’s life by his side and I’m glad I had that time. Take care buddy
Thank you my friend
Prayers, Brother. I'm sorry to hear that.
Thank you
It's always very sad and painfull to lose a loved one. Prayers, toutes mes condoléances as we say in France.
Much appreciated, thank you
Great video. Our happy place is where we make it. We need to be more focused on simplicity of life. Slow down and enjoy. Off topic: I am 6', 230 with a 32" inseam and 65 years of age. Would I 'fit' a Shadow ACE, Spirit or Aero?
Sorry for the late reply, as I just saw this comment. The best advice I can give as far as fitting the Shadow is to actually try one out. A lot of dealerships will allow you to sit on the bikes and also do a test ride. I don't believe that you are too tall for one. However, everyone is different in their comfort.
Spend time with your dad and family! You only get one chance to do that because they can be gone in a heartbeat!
Thank you. Perfect advice
Had a friend lose a parent at the end of last year and they just started teaching out to the world in the last few weeks. But they’re doing better. It’s going to be hard and I’m sorry for you loss. Take your time processing, recovering and healing. Wishing you all the best.
Thank you
Good luck and live your best life. That's all I can say
Appreciate you, many thanks
Prayers for you and your family. 🙏🙏
Thank you
From a man who lost his hero when he was very young, enjoy dad while he is here! Take care friend. Craig
Thank you Craig
Hi Tim, I’m sorry to hear about your dads condition. It’s tough I lost my mother to lung cancer in 2011. Take care and surround yourself with family and pray to help you all through the process. I recently put my Heritage (Ginger) in winter storage. The long cold Buffalo winter is coming but I still have my Honda Shadow (Marianne) and it looks like I may still have a week or two to ride before the snow starts falling . Go Bills!!!
Thanks my friend
So sorry, praying for you and your family
Thank you
You seem like an awesome guy. You are lucky to have a Dad that was and is there for you.
Yes, I'm truly blessed and do my best to never forget that. Thanks for the kind words.
It's very hard time. I went through the same experience with my Hero in 2021 exactly this month. Stay strong and keep his hand till the end. The time will heal your wounds. Prayers and love.
Thank you so much
You mentioned you felt privileged to know this man and I bet he would say he was proud of you and it is a privilege to have you as a son. I am extremely sorry for the circumstances but happy you have had so much time to make memories to this point. You seem like a great guy and I'm sure that is a reflection on who he is. Take your time. RUclips and us clowns will be here whenever you post. 💪
Thanks man!!
talk to him like normal, talk about the good times, im sorry that he and yall are going through this. Sending prayers and love brother.
Thank you brother!!!
You will see him again. I am not a very religion-oriented person but I do feel there is more than just here. The last thing any father would want is for his children to hurt, head up and carry on his legacy.
Great comment and very comforting. Thank you
Tough Vid to Make..Love an Strength Buddy x
Thank you
Praying for you and your family. I'm at the point where we are beginning to see signs with my dad, so I kinda get where you are now. Stay strong.
Thank you brother!!!
I lost my 85-year-old father a little over three years ago to covid. He was my best friend, mentor and hero. It stings as much today as it did the day he died. I visited he and my mom several times a week, and he always had a big smile when I walked in the door. We were huge baseball fans, and ardent supporters of our local minor league team. We'd attend 2-3 games a week; he'd buy the peanuts and I'd spring for the sodas. Since he passed away, I've been to maybe 2-3 games. It's just not the same without him there. I no longer have the heart to go. I am truly sorry about your father. Losing a parent is tough. Prayers to you and your family.
Thank you for sharing this.
My dad died 13 years ago at the age of 58 from colon cancer. It never gets easier but you learn to live without them each day. Spend as much time as you can with your dad because it will mean the most to both of you. Prayers. Love you and your channel.
@@jacksonmale Thank you for the comment. It means a lot to me.
Recently lost my dad. Was 89. There is a whole in my heart that will forever be there. Stay strong brother. If h aven only had visiting hours 😢
Thank you
Tim, you've had a gift I was never able to get-a dad who took the time to teach hou how to be a man/dad/person & mentor to people-other than hour own kids! 👍🏍️🐻🐻❄️Doug
Thank you
Prayers buddy 🙏
Thanks
Sorry to hear praying for you dad and your family.
Thank you
😞
Thank you
Tim, "happy time" is what you make it! Yes, the older one gets the "nap zone" is a major happy place! Doug ❤️👍
Thanks for the comment!!!
I can't really remember the last time I rode solo been a lot of years , my better half is always on the back no matter where we go she loves it as much as I do .
That is awesome.
At 64, I ride every chance I get. It's my therapy for my PTSD.
Yep. Wind therapy is the best.
I like mine because it's very pretty, *but* there is a long list of little things not so great about this bike that add up. The foot pegs are far far too far forward making it uncomfortable bike to sit on; the keys dangle off the side instead of square of the middle of the front forks, requiring you to take the key off your keychain and put it back on every time; it's a heavy bike, and you feel like you're riding atop a freight train; lot of chrome on the bike so you're always polishing the silverware and high maintenance; no 5th gear indicator light which i find immensely annoying; there is a factory recall on the vacuum fuel petcock - mine bought used was toast and would cause the bike to never crank after you had cranked it up for 5 minutes; the battery seems undersized for it; the ignition key and front fork key locks seem to jam up a lot and not want to release your key; there is only one safe angle to shoot the gasoline in the tank, and if you don't get it right, you'll get sprayed back; initially, all the safety killswitches really annoyed and perplexed me until I figured them out; a lot of the parts on the bike are... ughhh plastic... like the fenders... and engine covers... i mean, really?; the battery is buried under the seat, not where you can get to it if you need to charge it or jump it off; I think the tires are tubed tires, which means if you get a puncture on the road, your screwed; the swing arm shelf in front of the rear tire is a landing pad for all the worlds sand, dirt and mud, because they did not extend the front of the rear fender far enough; the fuel petcock switch is buried between the cyldiners and too far forward so when you run out on a tank, and you are scrambling to find it to switch to reserve, you're poking your hands right into hot cyldiners and it's not where it's suppose to be. I could go on an on, but these are off the top of my head. It's a pretty bike, but then most are... and I like the shaft drive... but... it's not perfect. Honda made a lot of bad decisions throwing out things they use to do right, for doing things wrong, to copy the look of a Harley... basically. Probably the top 3 things that annoy me the most on every single ride (and I'm a zero car 100% motorcycle daily driver) are the foot pegs being far too forward, the side key location, the lack of an 5th gear overdrive light. You literally have to remind yourself not to leave the key hanging out the side in the bike when you park it. And I'm always wanting to shift up from 5th gear from the sound of the engine, only there's nothing above it. And the footpegs being nowhere under where I want to rest my feet... bu there being dead air there instead... is kind of distressing.
All very valid truth. I guess it's not perfect for everyone however those top 3 things that you listed don't really bother me. You are definitely not alone in your complaint about the food pegs either. Have you considered floorboards?
I have the 600 and it's a beast
Heck yeah, it is!!!!
Lol I'm on break watching your video right now 😅😂
Lmao see I knew it!!!!
@meandmyshadow7839 🤣🤣
No doubt time seems to be moving faster and faster the older I get. The shame is when you are working, you're losing that "happy time." Obviously, work is important for more reasons than just a paycheck, but that just means you have to soak up and not take for granted the "happy times" when able. OK, I'm done with quotes. Nice message!
Same here bud, wife and bike. No kids so I can have a bike. 😂 I do enjoy my work but nothing beats a day off!
Lol, quote away, my friend. Congratulations on the 1k subscriber milestone!!!
My happy place is my cats and wife
Absolutely!!!! Family is priority number one. For me, that includes pets as well.
I have put my bike up for the winter I only ride in spring and summer
I'm lucky where I live. We don't have that issue. However, I miss the change of seasons.
I’m actually looking at a 2012 Honda shadow spirit 750 with 10267 miles it will be my first bike this video was very helpful thank you for taking the time to share and upload this video
@jackwelborn1863 Congratulations, and I'm happy to hear you are starting out on a Shadow. They are probably the best bikes to begin with (and keep riding if you're like me, lol). Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions I can help you with!!
