@@jason.bochniak you’re welcome and thank you for sharing these builds with us! They truly are next level! Have you ever considered doing a video on the FJ40 that I’ve spotted in a few videos? Really into my full size cars as well, especially Japanese ones so I would love to see more about it, especially because to me it looks like it’s been fully restored 👍👍
@@buildrestorecustomise2060 Thanks David, that means a lot! I only do this for the fun of sharing and hopefully helping others not make the mistakes I make! There’s no money earnt from it at all. I’ve been working on the FJ40 in the background for some time, that’s why the RC videos have been slow to come. I’ve learnt a lot recently getting back into full sized mechanical repairs and honestly did think about doing some videos, but I am not a mechanic. I guess changing radiators, clutch master & slave cylinders, bleeding brakes and all sorts of other stuff could have been good to video. Are you in Australia?
@@RCRetro Thanks Ari, It’s really detailed with the stainless tank, chrome and silver parts and the precision of the metal parts fitting is really impressive. Even the wheel chocks are made of rubber! I watched @emptypocketsrc build one which made me decide to get one with the Grand Hauler. The guy in California has another one for sale, it’s another Shell Tanker but a different livery design. Very cool and I haven’t seen many others come up.
Great Build... I've built a few of the Tankers myself over the years. You're right to say the SHELL livery is now discontinued for the Trailer kits (56303), It's now a Re-Release with Galant Eagle livery (56333). When you say you orientate the parts according to the manual, that's a good idea, but the bumper in the manual trailer lights manual is shown on the Box Trailer and it's totally different to the Tanker. I've got 4 sets of motorised legs on my trailers, and I've not put batteries in them for years, it's more a gimmic than a function. and the oil filled dampers are, in my opinion, a pointless TROP. absolutely no need for oil dampers on these 1/14 scale trucks. they look good though 👍
Very nice! That is the coolest trailer they offer! All the shiny makes me nervous, I know I would scratch it right away on something LOL! It looked great behind the Grand Hauler!
@@AddamsPlayground cheers! I took my time with it, there’s no where to hide, even when filming lol. Built most of it on a tool cabinet with wheels so I could spin it round to work on it without handling too much.
Yeah I finished the grand hauler as the Australian version with mfc and aluminum wheels, the tanker is texico with lights and going to install aluminum wheels soon
Nicely done. Who ever you are lol. First video I've seen of yours. Those Grand Haulers make the tankers look so short. I've only one truck a MAN TGX with a half built 3 axle flatbed. Watching the truck run at the end. It's a shame it's all remote apart from having to plug the lights in, which I didn't want. I'm going to install the same electric legs, but im going wireless on the trailer lights. As I already had a tamiya MFC-01 in the truck I found a Bluetooth module to connect. OB1 V4-MFC I think most people who go wireless just use a different system completely as it works out cheaper. Then buying the tamiya MFC, then tamiya trailer lights, then Bluetooth....
@@Hi_Doctor_Nick thanks. I bought everything pretty much all at once, was my first truck kit and knew nothing about them really. I saw the tanker come up for sale and bought that, then the truck and all the hop up parts so didn’t really know there were wireless options available from other manufacturers. It would be nice to be wireless but to be honest it doesn’t worry me. I guess with a wireless system you’d need to hide an extra battery somewhere underneath or inside the tank.
Servonaut AMO and Air-U will also give you compatible wireless connection via IR connection from the MFC-01 and 03, I've got them in 2 of my trailers 👍
@@TeriWilde I don't think I've seen that one of yours. Have you made a video on it? I'll be honest i haven't watched alot of your older ones, I've seen the last Scania you done, plus the TGX and trailer.
The tank came out very nicely. I just bought one and haven't started installing it yet, and please tell me the width of the SHELL sticker. Or tell me where you bought the sticker. I will follow your lead when I start building it. Thank you.👍👍👍
Thankyou. The stickers came with the kit, it is a discontinued Tamiya kit. There are some reproduction sets for sale on eBay but they are a different design.
All the air and electric lines goes from the truck to the trailer not from the trailer to the truck so if you want to do it right go from the truck to the trailer that you will be more accreate. The electric do not go though the tanker.
@@JosephDalton-d3w hi Joseph. Not sure what you mean? There’s only one cable going from the MFC in the truck to the trailer and it operates the lights. Thanks for watching!
Nice build. I just built my tanker and King Hauler. I put the Beier MSM-1 in my truck. Installing the lights next.
@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 thanks Robert. How are you finding the build? It’s very different to the buggies etc. what’s the Beier unit like?
It’s a great unit, very small and easy to mount and connect.
