Beautifully done! This is one of the most impressive videos I've seen of the Weminuche. The camera work was great and I liked the captions and titles compared to a lot of the chattering you hear on some videos. I've hiked/backpacked other parts of the Weminuche and in other parts of Colorado, but this wilderness area is by far one of the most gorgeous in the state. Videos like this help me plan future trips out. Thanks for letting us share your experience.

Thanks. My pleasure. I get a lot of pleasure reliving these experiences and the process of generating photo and video documentation. I'm not as much a fan of the more common talkative/social experience focused videos either, but can still enjoy them as long as there's some focus on the scenery, and I realize for many people it's the social or emotional reactions that are more interesting than the natural environment. No doubt many find my videos understandably boring without any social drama interest. All good/To each their own. :)

Awesome video. That place was beautiful!! There was just so many amazing features everywhere. You did an amazing job on the video. Was there spots where you could shorten the trip to 4 days. I’m from Kentucky and I’ve got 4 days to backpack around somewhere in Colorado and that place looks beautiful. I’ll take any advice you got. Thanks again.

It would be fairly easy for many people to do this loop in 4 days. Our group enjoyed a very relaxed pace with lot's of time in camp and on side hikes. A 2-3 day out and back into Chicago Basin is very common as well.

Rolling Tree thanks so much. We’ve got it down to this one and one at Northern Indian Peeks Loop. We just don’t know which one to choose yet. Thanks for your advice 👍

Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery. Is the trail well-marked, or are there Cairns to follow?

@@vincentdc211 The trail is generally very well traveled and clear with the exception of the last 1/4 mile or so after the catwalk on the side hike to Eolus, where multiple routes to the peak split with a corresponding and potentially confusing array of cairns, as often seems typical for scrambling routes anywhere.

First day hike is limited because the train doesn't get you to Elk Creek until noon and camping opportunities past the first four miles are limited. You could hike to the morrain on day one. On day two, a strong hiker could then start early, hike over both the divide and hunchback pass, then traverse all the way to Johnson Creek--not recommended but could be done. Day 3 could include another 3,700 foot climb into the Chicago Basin, with day four a few hours down to the train. Not recommended, but could be done if you are in top notch condition and accustomed to pushing when exhausted.

nice country...fyi, Vallecito is misspelled in your video as Valecito, but no wonder because the map you had in the video had it misspelled too ;)
