There's literally zero crime rate during his fight, there's no people on the malls, busy highways are empty. Everyone would shout, scream in front of their televions. Manny Pacquiao is one of the most unorthodox boxers that I've ever seen who's also in the goat conversation. If you look at somebody who has perfect boxing technique like Floyd Mayweather or Pernell Whitaker or Terence Crawford Or Marvin Hagler And then you watch Manny Pacquiao fight you would think that there is no way this guy can keep getting away with this at such a high level but time after time again he's proved that he is just simply blessed with gifts that others don't have

    • @One.Zero.One101
      @One.Zero.One101 2 месяца назад +17

      I think Manny has great technique, people overlook his technique because it looks chaotic but his moves are actually very calculated.
      1. In a 5-punch combo, the first two punches are actually setups to misdirect the opponent's gloves. What he's really looking to land is punches 3-5.
      2. The difference with Mayweather is Mayweather counters AFTER the opponent punches. Manny "counters" BEFORE the opponent punches. You can see him anticipate as the opponent loads up, and then Manny beats him to the punch. He has one of the best timings with this technique, the other one I can think of is Crawford.

    • @kawaiiafangirl
      @kawaiiafangirl 7 месяцев назад +17

      not to mention stamina. He also had larger calves than most people do proportionally which experts also pointed out a lot. I actually think that Pacquiao's footwork improved more so towards the late 2000s and that he got by in the late 90s to mid-2000s simply through his unusual punching angles, volume punching, stamina, and speed (not to mention his Southpaw advantage) while strong calves are said to help w/ punching power.
      I think late 2000s Pacquiao was peak Pacquiao bc he mastered his footwork, was a bit greater as a defender (simply bc of age and bc he was facing naturally larger opponents), and had a developed right hand by that point.

    As a Filipino, I respect Barrera. Barrera was arguably Pacquiao's greatest victory and turned him to a star in the sport of boxing overnight. That Featherweight/ Super Featherweight division from 2002 - 2008 was stacked and imo, was similar to the 4 Kings era of the 80s.
    I do however, think that while Barrera was no longer at his prime, he did find a second wind in the early 2000s. His Ls against Junior Jones and his war against Morales in 2000 forced him to adopt a more boxing-oriented style and became great w/ his jab (as evidence against Johnny Tapia). He still possessed a lethal left hook to the body and was always willing to exchange in a brawl like most Mexican greats. Many felt like he should have won against Morales in 2000 while some felt like he should've lost against him in 2002 (although it was also another close bout).
    Apart from Morales and Tapia, he had victories against Naseem Hamed and Kevin Kelly, and also had a good bounce-back victory against Paulie Ayala after his loss against Pacquiao.

    Pacquiao is, by far, the best boxer to come out of Asia. In fact, he's one of the greatest ever in history. Japan's inoue is trying to follow in his footsteps - with 4 division championships under his belt, he's already halfway there. We'll see where he ends up in the annals of history once his career is over.
