I've seen three episodes and I've wanted to punch Kinsey and Tyler, their mom and dad don't even feel like parents for some reason, and the mom just gets on my nerves, Echo I want dead... The ghost guys is pretty cool, though, but I wonder how long that will last.

I’ve read the whole saga. I actually think Joe Hill put a little bit of himself into each of the Locke siblings. The Keys connect the kids to their dad and his mysterious past. It’s similar to how fantasy/horror stories are something that Joe and his brother share with their dad.
Not a lot of people realize that Kinsey, took out her fear in the early part of the season, it made her think and act the way she is, hence she is very impulsive when it comes to decision making, engaging in dangerous activities without considering possible consequences.
@@tearkey1624 fear is probably one of our most important decision making tools. Its the most primal. Man would never have evolved if we didn't have survival instincts. If a child doesn't learn they should be scared of touching fire, they can never be trusted to cook. Without fear you probably lack proper motivation for self-preservation ngl, you might aswell not have a brain.

It already got renewed not only for season 2 but also season 3. It was a major hit and the views have been tremendous that Netflix jumped ahead and already tapped in for 2 more seasons. Shooting for season 2 begin this past September and runs through March. So, sometime next year season 2 will be released . Prob this spring. May or so. Season 2 will experiment with new keys/magic and demons. Cant wait!

This was actually a pretty good series. It actually has a kinda dark twist to it and at times is pretty violent. So this really isn't for young kids, especially with some of the sex scenes in it.
Fraser Roch love dark horror and this was just trash tbh. Lost interest half way through and finished it just because I started it. It’s like they couldn’t choose between a teen horror or adult. That fact makes it lack severity
Either adaptation or not, in tv industry all new shows categorised as original shows. Also except old movies and series, Disney+ has nothing new to offer besides more Marvel and more Star Wars material. Not everybody craving for these IPs. The Mandalorian's first season is done, what is new next for months to come? Most people prefer more mature style movies & shows like Netflix or Amazon Prime or HBO offers. With a huge library of new material always growing, of couse it has wins and misses. For myself, I will never consider leaving Netflix for Disney+. Maybe in the future I will also subscribe HBO and Amazon, but never Disney+. And I know lots of people are thinking the same. What these three streaming services offer are leagues better than what Disney offers.
Just finished watching the series! In the first 3 episodes, the acting really wasn’t that good and wasn’t executed that well. As i continued watching the acting got better and better and the plot became more complex and interesting. There were a few scenes where the characters choices were really annoying, but the ending left me SHOOK. I ended up loving it!!
i wouldn't say it was the acting, i just thought some of the writing was cliche in the first couple episodes. interesting and rly good stuff still happened but there were just some cliche high school moments and cliche dialogue which bogged down my enjoyment of the first few episodes slightly. but that stuff slowly went away and by the last like.. 5 episodes? it was amazing
This show is just amazing! You just want to life with them , to be a part of their exciting adventures . It’s so mysterious and captivating. I finished it in like 2 days and i totally recommand it. I really ship Tyler & Kelsey they’re my favs. Hope season 2 is coming soon i cant wait to see how it goes

@@prestontucker6579 Because the theme of this story is very similar to that of Narnia: empty, big, spooky house with secrets; kids arriving in, exploring; strange things starts happening; mistery, etc. Narnia is not the only such story, of course (Spiderwick Chronichles are similar), but it is on of the most popular, so that's why many people mentions it.
I'd say it's more like Spiderwick Chronicles (family moving to ancestral home after a tragic event but the house contains its own supernatural secrets) with Lovecraftian influences meets IT (the main threat is a personification of childhood trauma that was put into motion long ago but has since hibernated until circumstances were just right to become active again).
Ok so I have been seeing a lot of comments saying "the characters in here are so dumb and like why can't they use the keys to defeat dodge?!?!" I feel like they're supposed to be dumb so there's a lot more mystery and thrills in the show But if they use the keys and are a lot more smarter then the series would be just a movie then if there were like "oh! Let's use the keys against our enemy! How simple" and like the people that we are were gonna ask for more movies and we dont like that we have to watch the movies at one at a time so it's a series so they dont have to make a 1 hour movie and we have a lot more episodes to watch before we finish the whole thing and ask for more movies.(You can comment if you dislike of how I think)
Dylan Lin in the beginning I thought it was horror and it would totally be like haunting of hill house and then I was kind of disappointed when it got more upbeat
I never read the comics, but I like this one. I can't stand watching pure horror movies, but I like the fantasy part of Locke and Key. I am just a kid inside. I never liked Narnia and I read them. Took me days to finish 1 episode of Hill house. Haha

How come Kinsey and Bode don't use the Music box key when Sam (the murderer) breaks into their house? Instead Bode uses the Ghost key. And do what? Nothing. I guess that's why Rendel was afraid to reveal the keys to such bright kids😅😜
And why did ellie take the crown key with her to get the crown from her house. When the kids know lucas cannot take the keys from them. Not once in 10 episodes did the kids use the keys to fight back. All stupidity in the plot.
They would have been better of not having the music box key... As the audience has been treated like idiots thinking we would suddenly forget it. I enjoyed the series, but there is definitely some lazy writing about it in a few spots. Something to build on and hopefully improve... as long as they don't treat their audience as idiots.

I think that guy who killed their dad had l all the keys once he barged into their house...Later dodge took all of them from his pocket after stabbing him...But when he held their mom at gun point they could have used that key itself instead of ghost key...
They needed to know his/her name to use the music box key. I’m pretty sure “Dodge” is not the actual name of the demon. It’s probably a name she stole from original owner of the female face he/she uses.

While dodge could not take the keys from locke's. Not once did the teenagers use any of the keys intelligently against the well lady. Silly people.

The comics literally starts by subverting that trope in a master stroke. The father had said in the first chapter of the comics that if something bad ever happens to them, the Keyhouse is supposed to be the place which can keep them safe. That's why the surviving Locke family moved across the state to live in the Keyhouse - running from gruesome incidents - initiating the thrilling journey of the three Locke siblings, the reality-bending keys of the Keyhouse, and some dark entities intertwined with the history of Locke and keys.
They had 1. A character called Dodge 2. The ability to get inside people's heads and yet they didn't make ONE 'let's get the heck out of dodge' joke. Very disappointing.
@Brion I wouldn't fear this time. I think this will be one season and no more. As a fan of the comic, I saw scenes from almost all parts of the story including the ending. The comic isn't endless and it is a self contained story. Nowhere else to go.

Just watched season 3, one of the best shoes I've watched and I want more shows like this. Definitely gonna miss this a lot. The plots, story and direction all were splendid! Guys, I would love to get your recommendation if you know shows like this

I agree. The dark tone of the comics is part of what made them so good. It felt like more was at stake than your average YA fantasy. I hope the tone of the show doesn't ruin the story. Fingers crossed.

yeah i agree i mean why didn't she just leave the key with the kids and go for the crown since the possibility of dodge being at ellie's was higher. it was just to keep the plot going i guess. but it could have been executed in a less stupid way
I went through the last 4 episodes with my fists clenched out of frustration bc they never not for a second thought of using the key that controls actions to go against dodge. They just used it for a stupid prank one episode and byee
I’m not usually into this types of shows but I absolutely love this one! Got sucked in right from episode 1. Binged watched the whole season in a weekend or something like that. Not really hard to do tho when there’s only 10 episode seasons 😞 Anyway, season 2 should be premiering March or so. Sometime in spring 2021. Production wraps this weekend and work for season 3 begins in January. Yes, Netflix already renewed this show for a third season. Cannot wait!
Same! I never got into stranger things but this one is fantastic. I didn’t know it was even renewed for a second season so I’m ecstatic to discover a third is secured. I’ll have to rewatch season 1 before season 2 comes. Great show! Bode is so cute! Such a talented kid. I didn’t really understand the season 1 finale all that much but it definitely had a cliffhanger too it. Thanks for this! I am looking forward to the return of the show.
it was an amazing show, but something I think could work out is to do a season or a spin off with Rendell and his friends story with the keys, I mean I feel that there could be so much more mystery to it.

They don't ever want to push the boundaries when it comes to gore, sex, & violent scene's. & Most tv shows are catered to teens so of course it's going to have that to. If you really want to watch mature tv shows that are done right watch them in networks like HBO, Cinemax, EPIX or FX.

It already got renewed not only for season 2 but also season 3. It was a major hit and the views have been tremendous that Netflix jumped ahead and already tapped in for 2 more seasons.
Shooting for season 2 begin this past September and runs through March. So, sometime next year season 2 will be released . Prob this spring. May or so.

This was actually a pretty good series. It actually has a kinda dark twist to it and at times is pretty violent. So this really isn't for young kids, especially with some of the sex scenes in it.

Either adaptation or not, in tv industry all new shows categorised as original shows. Also except old movies and series, Disney+ has nothing new to offer besides more Marvel and more Star Wars material. Not everybody craving for these IPs. The Mandalorian's first season is done, what is new next for months to come? Most people prefer more mature style movies & shows like Netflix or Amazon Prime or HBO offers. With a huge library of new material always growing, of couse it has wins and misses. For myself, I will never consider leaving Netflix for Disney+. Maybe in the future I will also subscribe HBO and Amazon, but never Disney+. And I know lots of people are thinking the same. What these three streaming services offer are leagues better than what Disney offers.
Just finished watching the series! In the first 3 episodes, the acting really wasn’t that good and wasn’t executed that well. As i continued watching the acting got better and better and the plot became more complex and interesting. There were a few scenes where the characters choices were really annoying, but the ending left me SHOOK. I ended up loving it!!

i wouldn't say it was the acting, i just thought some of the writing was cliche in the first couple episodes. interesting and rly good stuff still happened but there were just some cliche high school moments and cliche dialogue which bogged down my enjoyment of the first few episodes slightly.
but that stuff slowly went away and by the last like.. 5 episodes? it was amazing

Narnia is not the only such story, of course (Spiderwick Chronichles are similar), but it is on of the most popular, so that's why many people mentions it.
I'd say it's more like Spiderwick Chronicles (family moving to ancestral home after a tragic event but the house contains its own supernatural secrets) with Lovecraftian influences meets IT (the main threat is a personification of childhood trauma that was put into motion long ago but has since hibernated until circumstances were just right to become active again).
Ok so I have been seeing a lot of comments saying "the characters in here are so dumb and like why can't they use the keys to defeat dodge?!?!"
I feel like they're supposed to be dumb so there's a lot more mystery and thrills in the show
But if they use the keys and are a lot more smarter then the series would be just a movie then if there were like "oh! Let's use the keys against our enemy! How simple" and like the people that we are were gonna ask for more movies and we dont like that we have to watch the movies at one at a time so it's a series so they dont have to make a 1 hour movie and we have a lot more episodes to watch before we finish the whole thing and ask for more movies.(You can comment if you dislike of how I think)

They would have been better of not having the music box key... As the audience has been treated like idiots thinking we would suddenly forget it. I enjoyed the series, but there is definitely some lazy writing about it in a few spots. Something to build on and hopefully improve... as long as they don't treat their audience as idiots.

@Brion I wouldn't fear this time. I think this will be one season and no more. As a fan of the comic, I saw scenes from almost all parts of the story including the ending. The comic isn't endless and it is a self contained story. Nowhere else to go.

I’m not usually into this types of shows but I absolutely love this one! Got sucked in right from episode 1. Binged watched the whole season in a weekend or something like that. Not really hard to do tho when there’s only 10 episode seasons 😞
Anyway, season 2 should be premiering March or so. Sometime in spring 2021. Production wraps this weekend and work for season 3 begins in January. Yes, Netflix already renewed this show for a third season. Cannot wait!

Of course it's not going to be a proper mature tv show, it's Netflix. They don't ever want to push the boundaries when it comes to gore, sex, & violent scene's. & Most tv shows are catered to teens so of course it's going to have that to. If you really want to watch mature tv shows that are done right watch them in networks like HBO, Cinemax, EPIX or FX.
Am I the only one thinking that sam becoming a ghost will be something useful in future seasons?
