It's uncanny, he's perfect, he doesn't age, his concept & musicality is perfect. There's no post-bop pianist like Herbie. If i were a music student I'd study his every move/groove.
I absolutely love Herbie! I had front row center seats at his UNC Greensboro concert. It was Feb 12th 2019 and I took the opportunity to yell, HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERBIE.( I knew his birthdate, I just wanted to be the first person to wish him happy birthday for 2019)He responded that guy just wished me Happy birthday...probably because his actual birthday isn't until April 12th. At the end of the concert he reached down and shook hands with some of us and my wife took a picture as he shook my hand. That picture sits above my piano! I touched THE GREATEST PIANIST OF MY GENERATION!

Caught you guys Xmas 1989 at the Blue Note NYC. You guys put a fog of music out into the room that enveloped everybody and made us feel weightless, every little moment had significance and meaning, there were moments of space, moments of density, it all flowed like a gentle wave calmly carrying you along and witnessing the most magnificent scenery. I’ll never forget those gigs.
These magnificent musicians are further expanding the musical constructs developed in the Miles Davis Bands that they were integral partici😊pants.we are given a map of some of the most advance music being played. Universe travelers will stop and contemplate the genius of this achievement. Miles continues to smile and take delight in the brilliance of these musician.
