Nice, I’ve been kayaking, rafting and river guiding for 34 years. This is one of the first videos I’ve seen in a very long time. Where I can say with appreciation. That I’ve watched a group of people who know how to handle their Oar Frame Boats. Well done guys and gals.
Thank you for your post....quite enjoyable. Can you clue me in on what company/individual flew you and your gear in to Shearer airstrip? What town/airstrip did they fly you out of?...Thx...🐕
What date did y'all launch? We launched at Paradise on Aug 5th. It was 0.4" at the Paradise gauge. The second day, there was an earthquake-driven mudslide upriver and the river turned to a silt so thick you couldn't see your paddle blade in the water. We were in OC-1s and IKs.
Shearer on the 3rd. Our last night there were some pretty good storms and lots of rain but the mudslide hadn’t made it to us for our last few miles out. Our drive out, we saw something also blew out just above Selway Falls. The Middle Fork and Main Salmon had some pretty good blow outs that same night.
That's Aug 3rd? What a great trip. Would you say any of those rapids, at that water level, were real Class IV, or are they less at low water? What was the toughest rapid?

Your son in law should always wear his life jacket! I an sure he doesn't want to make your girl a widow!
