To us black folks in the 80s, KC was the blackest white boy in disco we knew and loved.
this why we can't have nice things, u all make it about race always
Before I saw him perform, I assumed he WAS black. :D Imagine my shock. He made this melanin-deprived youngster proud.
@@duddy2003Florida!!!!!!
As a white boy in an inner city high school, I understand what you’re talking about.
This obsession for race tho, black or white disco was made and for everyone.
THAT HORN SECTION IS EVERYTHING THOUGH
Truth.
They couldn't fit all four. Stage size limits maybe.
Working hard too!
Tight ass band , right there with EW & F
Ditto! Them Boys were blowing!
This came on the store speakers at Home Depot tonight while I was shopping. I was dead tired, my ass was dragging, but as soon as these vibes hit my ears, I noticed the load on my tired old body began to lift, and pretty soon I was steppin' lively and gettin' down to the beat. I felt better! Thanks, KC!
I Feel You... Did the same thing when I went to HOME Depot!! The Music was 80's .. BEST TIMES..
Such an uplifting song!
Yes!!!!!
this is the way!
Totally get THAT…..same:))
This song is off the Chain still rocking in 2024
black musician and white musician together = masterpiece
Awesome, it's true.
whites and blacks together always will turn out great!
Bro what 😂😂😂
Race doesn't figure into making masterpieces, but it's great to see when different races enjoying doing things together.
LA LUZ ESTÁ EN LA OSCURIDAD MÁS INOSPITA
How is KC and the Sunshine Band NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? These guys had it going on, man. Positive, happy music, racial harmony, killer grooves and beats and talented AF musicians.
Because KC and the Sunshine Band are Disco/Funk not rock roll:
Disco/Funk never became popular enough or reached the same amount of international popularity as rock did for it to have its own Hal log fame.
Disco died pretty early, came in 1978 and died 1979.
I 👍 agree!
simple its not that good
@Polish Hero Welecki I would say five number one songs, several others in the top 10, and over 100 million albums sold would constitute being pretty darn popular. Disco did not start out in 1978. It was more like 1974. It was not dead by 1979. It lasted a couple more years. John Lennon was a fan.
👌🏽SMH
Real music, you hear this you just gotta dance dude 🤣
KC was an underappreciated musical genius .. He could write tunes with an incredible groove and Produce them brilliantly !!
The black friend you never knew u had !
Makes me want to dance! 'Do a little dance, Make a little love, Get Down Tonight' *'That's the Way, uhunh uhunh, I Like It, uhunh uhunh.........' Still stirs me up! KC the 'Boogie Man'
A kick-ass horn section, a smooth funk groove, charismatic singer, and those fantastic bell-bottoms! Pleeeeeeease, anyone, bring that back!
Boca linda do cantor , eu daria muitos beijos nele 🥰💋💋💋💋💋💋💋....
Oh man I miss bell bottoms!
You have to wonder how much caffeine those trumpet players had before performing....lol.
Good times!!
Yeah, I could, "resurrect" the day again 🕺💃 I guess, was going to nite clubs right up to age 58 (going on 61 now) but there, "came a time" (I thought it was, "comes a time" Neil Young = "no disco 📀 there!") when I had to, "hang up the 👟👟" bummer!! ps: KC and the 🌄 band were always, "right up there!!" Cheers 🎉
Music from this era is approaching 50 years old, and it's aged like a fine wine.
Disco sucked then and will always suck
Loved this song and disco as a pre-teen and I'm still listening and lovin' it.
The 70s will always feel like ~30 years ago for me. Crazy that it's 50 years ago, Jesus Christ.
Yep, still loving it in 2021..:)
That its music
Tambourines are in tons of songs, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone as happy to play that tambourine as the dude in the video.
Yeah, I was noticing that too….he seems like such a happy person in this video!☺️
Would love to see a movie documentary about these guys
YES!
The outfits they wore through the years should have their own hall of fame.
@ BC but damn he still looked fine! But that was a looong time ago! Wonder if KC visits? I'd get stuck in the past too if I used to look like him!🤣
All the groups back then was the same outfits has really nice The Delfonics Kool & the Gang Teddy Pendergrass all those old groups fabulous music maybe we would be all depressed right now if we had groups like that now we just have RUclips thank God for that God bless everybody

@@acosta12transfer2 really? Huh, I woulda never known. Even if they used auto tune they're still talented
I agree. Today's music sounds like shit!
I am 56 years old and immediately fell in love with Disco when it first came out in 1972. Today's music sounds outdated compared with that time period and it supposed to be the other way around.
I went to a racially divided high school outside of Philly and we had house parties where we ALL partied together. Good times in 74, 75 and 76. The athletes and cheerleaders were mixed and we had great beer parties. Miss Darby - Colwyn High.

Hello from Tyler Texas!
During the entire 1980s, nobody would ever admit liking this song. Today, it's a classic.
I did❤ I always hit the dance floor when Djs played any of his songs
70’s I still have the album & danced at the Disco & tore up that floor! haha 💃♥️♥️
I find it amazing how you begin to appreciate things, as you grow older, that you laughed at when young. Speaks loudly to maturity and wisdom
but that was 70's NOT 80's, disco era was 70's man !!

Music does NOT get any better than this - and never will!
The keyboards underneath, the cymbals on top then bass comes, drums and horns hit hard. Then it explodes.
Yeah great work
The 70's was the greatest decade in human music. If you want to argue you can talk to Marley, Bowie, Wonder, Reed, Waits, Cliff, DEVO, Talking Heads, CURTIS, Marvin Gaye, Zeppelin, Sabbath and the the b-52's. Forgot Kraftwerk and Can.

Dear Faith is so dearly right !!!
That kind of lazy, out of touch statement is all over the comments sections of RUclips, You just aren't looking in the right places. The standards of musicianship have never been higher. As an older musician myself, some of the young players scare the c**p out of me.
What’s being said quite justifiably is that the level of musicianship for similar types of musics is way down, because it’s being done with computers largely by non-musicians who don’t know how to construct full musical thoughts. Nothing to do with actual musicians today, a separate category that may or may not be any better than back in the day.
@@hardcorehouse Computer music is NOT better than back in the day. Computers have no soul. They don't use dynamics or tempo variation. All the human characteristics that make music soulful are lacking in computer generated music.
