    Nitro at Great Adventure shocked me. I was pissed when we hit the break run pretty hard, but then there was some great ejector in the back row when we took off again. The only time I will ever praise a mid course break run. But man I hate Batwing. Love the B+M flyers like Tatsu though

    The random crazy airtime on the second to last drop on jackrabbit, a coaster with only a seat belt is the most random awesome moment I've ever seen on a coaster

  • @Aerolandaircraft

    I've not ridden a lot of coasters, but my first ride on an Intamin Accelerator shocked me to my core. I'd only done a Mack LSM and a tyre driven launch and those were fun but nothing crazy, so I think a hydraulic launch would feel the same way. By chance, my sister and I get assigned the front row, but I'm not scared, just excited. I've watched the POVs and (thought) I knew what to expect. Then the ride takes off, and god it's unbelievable. I don't remember anything from my first ride but the emotions I felt going through that launch were so intense I'll never forget it. It's been almost two years and fifteen rides since riding Superman Escape for the first time, but it still is my favourite coaster ever.

    • @CoasterDash
      @CoasterDash  Месяц назад +1

      That’s awesome! I can totally see how a hydraulic launch could be at the top of someone’s list.

    A genuinely shocking moment on a coaster that not many people have experienced is the second drop on wild mouse at my home park idlewild. It's the most terrifying head chopper on any coaster I've ridden, and I've ridden phantom's revenge over a hundred times. Diving under thunderbolt on phantom has absolutely nothing on that. I am pretty sure I can touch the track above but I don't want to risk getting injured, especially since I'm tall and have long arms.

    So many great picks on this list, many of which I’m super excited to experience again 😄 What shocked me most about Pantheon initially, other than the backwards airtime hill going into back spike was the drop on the second hill right after this segment. It’s kinda steep and I just remember having the time of my life flying down. And then the ejector airtime of Twisted Timbers really surprised me at the end of the ride. I have a hunch Der Schwur Des Kärnan will be making an appearance this year, but we’ll see😜 That ride looks amazing!

    I will never forget volcano the blast coaster. When I rode it in 2017, I didn't know anything about coasters at the time, so I was really shocked, especially since it was my first launch coaster, and I didn't know there was a second launch haha

    I'm glad you mentioned Verbolten because I agree with you 100%. As I commented on your video on the coasters that were the most shocking to you, I was caught completely off guard by the intensity of the indoor section of Verbolten. I get plenty of satisfaction out of seeing Nighthawk on both of your lists -- I'm looking forward to riding it in a few days (mostly because of its vertical loop). I was definitely surprised at how aggressive the quad down was on ArieForce One was during my first ride on it. By the end of the day, my thighs were definitely surprised as well.

    Great video! All great picks! I really enjoyed watching this! I was thinking a good example of this would be if a coaster dropped down into a ravine out of nowhere, especially if ridden for the first time at night and there are no lights around. Im really looking forward to the Vlogs coming up within the next few months!

    I’m a pretty new enthusiast and Arie is my most recent credit, being #29 (yes I know that’s kinda pathetic). As someone who’s only RMCs were New Texas Giant and Iron Rattler (on a cold day mind you), ArieForce literally blew my mind on my first ride. I was so happy when you put it at #1 because it validated how actually insane that thing is. The first outerbank is so strong and sustained, the ejector down the top of the double up, the whip of the arcade roll, the tight positives-filled turn into the finale, and of course, that finale itself. Oh my gosh. I literally found myself shouting every time one of those hills hit. Such a relentless and beautiful ride, and I’m so grateful I’ve gotten to experience something even you with all of your credits found absolutely wild. Great video, love your content!

    I immediately thought of the sideways ejector airtime at the top of fury’s treble clef. But I agree that loop on knighthawk is very intense and disorienting.

  • @RemsRides

    Some shocking moments I could think of:
    Backwards airtimes in Toutatis (same as you for pantheon, I have just not ridden pantheon before)
    Ride to Happiness finals bunny hops (incredible ejectors two times in a row)
    FLY second launch exit at front row (single best airtime moment in Phantasialand and the fact you're in the flying position made it even better)
    Taron first hill (think it'll be a floater and that was an ejector)
    Taron second launch (the acceleration is just insane)

    One thing that was always shocking for me was the backwards trip through the loop in the back seat on Montezooma’s Revenge. It was very dizzying there for some reason. A real gut punch. I hope we get that same gut punch back with Montezooma’s Forbidden Fortress.

    I forgot Hulk had the launch, so that was a shock almost 10 years ago. I also feel the end of Shadows of Arkham in Madrid feels different than my home Batman at Great Adventure, but I wouldn’t count that as truly a shocking element

      That’s an awesome ride with so many surprises!

  • @zacg_
    @zacg_ Месяц назад

    Obviously, it all depends on what you knew and what you expected. I think for me I have a few that caught me off guard because I was just getting back into coasters after not having ridden many in over a decade.
    First, I rode Verbolten without knowing what was coming. The indoor portion was a surprise but the end of that section completely shocked me because I hadn't heard about it.
    And speaking of being shocked, a year later I finally got to Over Texas after years of wanting to go. Nothing surprised me more than the drops off the turnaround on Shockwave. I had ridden a bunch of Schwarzkopfs years earlier but that airtime was insane and it doesn't look like it should have airtime. So that was a treat.
    Finally, I was just getting back into coasters when Lightning Rod opened. I'd only ever ridden one other RMC and I knew they were taking the coaster world by storm. But I hadn't been plugged back in long enough to hear about Lightning Rod and my fist ride was in 2016. I realize I was lucky because it had been down for a lot of the day. But I had no idea what was coming. I think the sensation of in inclined launch shocked me, but the wave turn and quad down were like nothing I'd ever experienced. I've now ridden a bunch of RMCs but none of them (not even SteVe or Iron Gwazi) compare to my first ride on Lightning Rod.
