- [Vlog] Heavy Shift Knobs vs Light Shift Knobs | Likewise Diamond Shift Knob Install
I wasn't planning to, but I did it anyway!
I goordered the Likewise diamond shift knob in Purple!
Something I forgot to mention!
These shift knobs are made out of aluminum, but
I have never burnt my hands during the summer!
I don't know if it's the way they paint these, but they are awesome!

Likewise diamond shift knob is lighter than it looks👌🏻
I cracked up when I caught ditto hanging out in the backseat
Haha, had to do it for the vlog😂
I actually had no idea about the heavier vs lighter shift knobs good to know. Also the matching like wise looks clean with the interior 👍🔥
Michael Wolf
People always talked about it and I'm glad I searched for the reason lol
Thanks always bro🤜🏻🤛🏻🔥
Purple gang strong 💪
🤜🏻🤛🏻🔥🔥🔥
I'm gonna need a roll cage like yours one day to finish off the interior😉
@@KiNOSTi mine is a Safety 21 5-point half cage. Easy to install, you can keep your rear seats, and doesn't obstruct the front/back movement of your front seats. 👌
speedmasterleetl Cusco right?
I probably need a custom made one b/c I need to pull my seat all the way back.
Because of the middle bars, I'd have to push my seat forward😭
YES‼️‼️‼️ another superb video. 👊🏽👍🏽
R-Mon Solace Thanks🙏🏻🔥
That's nice ..... keep up the good work HAWAIIAN!!!
Justin Kainoa ayyye, thanks brotha🤙🏻
That's dope I like the purple was the cherry on top
Nice vids shift knob are very Nice design is very cool 😃😃
The shift knob has perfect size and weight, I love it😍
Know, yoh can call it a "money shift" 😂 Great video!
Cédric Ced 😂😂😂
Great video brother. I like the new shift knob. The purple looks good with it. Stay up ride low bro ❤👊💯
sleepydreams /David Gleason Thanks brotha!
Can't wait to do more to it😉
stay lit bro🔥
Having just done a short shifter in my 2019 STI, I had to go underneath the car and use an Allen key to hold the reverse cable in the up position so that I had enough length to match up the hole in the cable with the one on the shift lever. Was still a PITA, but much easier than trying to pull it up with wire or cable. I imagine the older STIs are the same way.
I think it would've been a lot easier to line up the reverse cable the way you did
I was just too lazy to lift my car 😂
Interior is coming together nicely Kino!
Thanks brotha🤙🏻🔥
2nd view!! 🔥🔥🔥 but the shift knob looks great in matching with your interior 👍🏻👍🏻
Asian Ness ayye🤜🏻🤛🏻🔥🔥🔥
Thanks bro!
At work and what do you know new Kino video. Your interior is coming together very nicely. 👍
Thanks always David🤜🏻🤛🏻
I seriously gotta stop spending money on the interior to save money for the wing😂😂😂
I know how that feels but great things take time tho, but when you do get the wing tho I’ll be there to give you a like. Plus your car is slowly coming together no need to rush it.
It's the little mods that can really change a ride's appearance. Your interior is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 kino after the subtle changes! Nice PC rig you got there. Did you build that rig yourself? If so what's under the case? Awesome upload as always bro 🤜🔥🤛
Mr. Newton Thanks bro!
yeah, it's built w/ ASUS board
@@KiNOSTi nicesu! 🔥
Hello fellow bassist!
I just swapped out my stock Miata ND2 shift knob- not because it wasn't comfortable, it is because its super heavy- 303 Grams and all that weight is up top.
I put in a Voodoo magnum Derlin shift ball and it is hugely different- it clicks into gear and you can feel the fork move the sycro's, it doesn't warble around accelerating out of a stop and the throw is shorter. Think about it, if you have 10oz weight shaking around in the gate- that can't be too good for all the linkages, detents and sycro's over the lifetime of the car- this is especially so for a stick that is directly connected to the transmission.
To put in perspective, this shift knob weighs 84grams or 3 oz, the stock knob weighs 3.6X more.
I can see how some people might want the heavy weight knobs, it makes the transmission feel smoother and damps all the mechanical feeling from your hand, but it could be bad for your gearbox and it feels numb and disconnected- a heavy knob will not make you shift faster, it just makes the shift feel smoother in your hand- but not in your gearbox.
Exactly!
The woble is actually good for the gearbox because it's letting all the force out instead of having all the force get stuck on the fork;)
I agree with you strongly on the last paragraph you wrote!
Heavy shift knobs make it feel smooth on your hand, but not on the gearbox!
I couldn't have said it better!
What bulb you used for the key hole light, dash light and ac lights??
Jan Leyva
T5 for the key cylinder
T4.2 for the AC
Where you got your bulbs also, you think it’s gonna be the same bulb for a 2001 Subaru Forester sti?
Jan Leyva it probably is the same size, but i'd check on google just in case.
they're just random bulbs I found online.
Never heard of LW until this video...interesting products they have...
Pls link the jyuzu you bought.
Hey Kino do you still have the blue diamond? If so Wanna sell it?
They're not that expensive brand new!
If you really want one I can sell, but I don't really plan on dropping the price too much👌🏻
@@KiNOSTi i know they are still available but prefer the old logo. Since I miss the discountinued sale for the blue one Im a bit hopeless 😅
And RUclips decides to recommend this vid after i just placed an order on a 700gram HEAVY knob. Final sale non refundable. Facepalm.
RUclips does that all the time😂
What’re those (I hate to call them “bracelets” sorry if I’m insulting anyone) called? I really like them
Jyuzu or Juzu
and they are bracelets😉👌🏻
Hey! I got a momo knob which is 200 grams, but planning to install it with a k-tuned style extension rod. Do you think it would hurt my transmission?
Dániel Kerekes extension rods will give that extra torque
I've heard it'll leave damage in a long term
Where Did U buy the purple Bracelet at
Link pls
I only ever run heavy shift knobs. Never had a single issue.
It happens gradually😭
I know way too many ppl that hear grinding sound when they shift because of this and it'd cost them big $$ to fix
@@KiNOSTi I've been running a 1lb shift knob on my car for the past two years now. With the knob, extender, and quick shifter it feels like butter.
It feels like it's shifting smoother, but it's gradually leaving damage to your transmission
that's why the stock shift knobs never come heavy.
the manufacturers want the transmission to last long.
I used to use the heavy knobs myself until I met so many ppl who damaged their transmission...
when I say damage, it doesn't necessarily mean transmission blow.
It can mess up the sync and will end up getting you grinds every time you shift to certain gears.
If that happens, your car will drive, but it will be harder to shift gears.
depending on how you drive, it may take a little longer than 2yrs, or it can happen even within 2yrs.
I just had a conversion about this with a mechanic during the summer too.
My we are like wise shift knob is 415grams including the extensions. Is that bad or too have heavy? What are are your thoughts? ⛩
I personally wouldn't have the extention because I hear it's not good for the transmission.
my friends took it off for the same reason.
I think some where in between 200 and 300grams should be the max weight to be on the safe side.
it wont break in a short period of time, but it will gradually leave permanent damage
Do you still have it and are you willing to sell? I’m interested
Where do you get the beads? I can’t find them anywhere
look for jyuzu
