I laughed so much when you were explaining the "r" sound, my native tongue is spanish and we tent to roll our "r" A LOT, so making a soft "r" sound has been one of my biggest challenges learning thai 😂😂 i literally gave up an just use the "l"
I think it's fine to roll your R in Thai. It's supposed to be the correct way to pronounce it (as newscasters do). Thai people are just too lazy to roll their Rs.

1:00 Fun facts about the other 3 types that he didn’t mention: Green one with a jigsaw piece: suitable for kids in kindergarten age above 3 One with the smiley face: for kids age above 6 These two are only for kids shows (or sometimes they just use the house one) The scary one with lightning bolt sign: only for adults This one is extremely rare. I can’t even remember what kind of show has this sign(as a Thai person) Even the TV dramas with scariest scenes don’t have this sign(and there’s lots of times when they don’t even care and put the “suitable for all ages” sign for those show👁👄👁)
The tourist pricing thing is really everywhere, but damn those prices are different. I think it says 10 for the children and 20 for adult but the tourist one was like, “just add a 0 they won’t know.” 😂
Similarly, if you’re a resident expat, what price do you pay? In Morocco, listed prices for things like entrance fees are the same for tourists and Moroccans, but in-city taxis and artisan shops will often charge tourists a lot more (especially in Marrakech). I have to speak to people in Arabic and show that I know what it should actually cost before they give me the real price. Once they find out I live in Morocco and get paid in durhams not dollars, suddenly things get cheaper. 😁
@@Carmen_mejiaaa if you know the language enough that’s when you start bargaining for a lower price and once they know you’re on to them they tend to “lower” it for you. But they essentially charge you the same amount as a native.

It is really helpfull.
(I'm French too) I've been learning Thai with the Assimil method (and old book from the public library, it's from 1990 and comes with 3 CDs 😁). Well, I find that I sound the closest to the CD (and series) when I place my lips and mouth the way Gun does... It looked kind of funny to me, especially in NOT ME The Series, because it looks like he articulates a lot, but that's what gives me the best results 😅

@@Ocean8soul Nice! I'm not actively learning thai, but it is a nice tip. Also not French, although it is my first language, I am québecois. So our way of pronouncing things is definetly different.
@@hellomello258 I live in a country where you need to learn a second language fairly young but my experience was that pronounciation was only actively included in college courses. Though it may have changed now. I still think that the pronounciation part of languages classes is seriously understated from primary to high school in my country. It's only in my linguistic class I took in college that the way to correctly move our mouth and tongue influences the pronounciation was taught. It wasn't even in the regular English class. I had that class because I was studying languages!
I've been listening to coffee break Spanish podcast and they also mention about the sounds and how to use your mouth to make the sounds. There are a few parallels between Thai and Spanish with the 't' sound and the slightly rolled 'r' sound, which is kinda interesting! This is knowledge based from this 1 video and season 1 of learning Spanish, so there may be more 🤣

The rolling "r" sound is actually easy for me since I learned spanish years ago (though I am now unable to speak it since I am way out of practice) and it is the same sound almost. And the "tor" is also easier since the placement of the tongue is similar to what I do naturally. (maybe cause my first language is french?). The tones are what I struggle a bit more with. The languages I am most familiar with don't have tones so it's harder to understand and practice. Usually tones in the languages I know are to convey an emotion or irony or something similar, it isn't used the same way and it is harder to detect and imitate for me.
Ohh, que bueno que hayas aprendido el español. Por ejemplo, yo sé un poco de inglés, pero siempre practico el idioma con mi familia 😊😊. Y ahora por las series se aprende el tailandés 😅
@@fiorellamontero8136 When I was in high school, I studied in the International Education Program and we had to learn 2 secondary languages. I learned English and Spanish. However, it is so far back I don't even remember how to write or speak Spanish. I can understand it somewhat though. It is good to practice English with your family, but to expand your knowledge I reccommend wathing tv shows, listening to podcasts and/or radioshows, reading it and talking to native speakers. That is how my skill in English improved after I left school and didn't have classes anymore. I became much more fluent too. I actually learned some korean, japanese, mandarin and thai from watching series too. It is weird to assimilate languages simply by watching tv, but also really neat. Sorry that my answer is in English but as stated earlier, I don't really remember how to write Spanish. It is hard to find opportunities to practice my Spanish where I live.

Oh my, a truly original, clever BL video - of course from the one and only Perth, our learned, observant, and witty guide and teacher. It is the mark of every fan of Thai BL that we know these phonemes - by heart - in our sleep. And now the Master finally reveals to us exactly what the sounds are, what they stand for, what they mean. And we know his learning will be worn lightly, the whole of the lesson brightened by his radiant smile.
Lol that’s the basic songs every Thai knows, we grown up with them. Mostly used in school, university’s events, especially sport and orientation events. Kinda like a way of entertaining and let us be assertive. Actually you can briefly see a person’s personality when someone make them dance to those songs lmao, just judging by their expression/reaction.

I had vaguely assumed that the 'Raikantopeni' announcement at the start of shows was giving the rating/classification for the show but hadn't given it much thought, and then I saw people selling merch and stuff, so I figured I must have been wrong and I was planning to look it up. And then Lo! You made this vid, explaining all. Thanks!
I sang for years in Australia in a large symphonic choir which performed some of the great classical choral works. We rolled the "r" in English, Latin and German, but it was always a strong sound. Thanks, Perth, for explaining the soft Thai sound. You do it well. On another note (no pun intended) I, like others, always say Raikantopeni when that message appears on the screen.
Oh Perth you’re the best 😂❤️. Now I kinda wanna see you do more iconic BL lines, cause hearing you say them would be amazing to hear. Can’t wait, loving the BL Fan series ❤️❤️

What a fun topic, especially with that opening!! Good to know that Perth's RUclips is suitable for all ages. Phrases like this and 「この番組はご覧のスポンサー提供で送りします」are such earworms. Even if they arent songs. At least we know how to pronounce this now. Potential topic request: something on Buddhism. I don't know if that's too heavy/complicated a topic for this series. But I don't know much about it and some things like making merits or feeding the monks come up quite a bit. Such as in He's Coming with You and Love By Chance. Or the ordination of monks like with Type in TharnType season 2, since that seemed to have a set expected duration. Which is different from ordination of priests.
This comes up in LOTS of BL’s… In Cutie Pie, there’s Syn’s character… is he already a monk? Is being a monk a profession (like being a priest)? It looks to me like the guys spend time learning and developing better thoughts/attitudes and then return back to your previous life but as an improved version of yourself. Is that remotely accurate? 🙈 In TharnType2 Type says he’s doing it to honor his parents, because he doesn’t intend to get married (am I remembering that correctly?)… In Cupid’s Last Wish it looks like there are rules re girls not handing things to the monks… I find all of this fascinating & very different than any religion I’ve ever been exposed to. I would LOVE to learn more! 😃💗

Actually, The Raikantopeni has not just appeared in bl series but it's appear everywhere in Thai program😂
I would like to cosign how brilliant you're doing with all of this; and, I love that you're taking suggestions from the comments. To that end, I would love if you taught us how to say the entire announcement. That would literally blow our minds.
OMG! Thank you so much for actually making the video! And so soon too! I never expected that my comment could make something of itself!😅🤣 It's so cool you actually read the comment section and make what the silly BL fans want!😁💖 Thank you so much Perth!
Sheer amazement for the way you explained the difference in tones. You are a master at teaching!! Super impressed
I'm screaming with laughter Perth's a gem for doing this one. Im ashamed to say i thought it meant the business corperation lol 🥰🥰🥰
Perth is an amazing teacher. he thinks up all the things i'm wondering about before I even think to learn about them. he's shedding light on Thai culture while doing it. much respect! plus he always looks amazing. XD
Perth es increíble siempre escuchando lo que los fans pedimos maravilloso
目のつけどころが面白いですね👍
また色んな講座動画楽しみにしてます
ありがとうございます✨
this boy is gonna be the death of me, we love you so much Perth thanks for reading the comments and brightening our days, can't wait for the video :)
Bruh, the moment i saw the thumbnail, i started cracking up, Can't believe I am getting educated on a bl meme!! love it and appreciate it!!
@@eloietremblay7783 Sí, a mí me gusta mucho el inglés y también lo practico a través de las canciones.
No te preocupes, porque estoy aprendiendo a escribir en inglés, por eso lo hago en español. 😅
@@fiorellamontero8136 Canciones es muy bueno para praticar otros languaje. (Hope that was written ok 😅😅)
@@eloietremblay7783 lo escribiste bien, solo que al principios utilizamos "las" para que suene "las canciones son muy buenas para practicar otro idioma" y para que sea solo una es "la canción es muy buena para practicar el idioma"
I never knew I needed a guide to 'raikantopeni' but here we are lmao this was a very fun video. It still baffles me how bl enjoyers turned a casual announcement into something so hyped and fun, and if there's no announcement beforehand everybody already feels like there's something missing 😂
i learn a lot with perth, i pay more attention to him than to my classes at school.
I love that perth knows what content their audience likes.
I love you ♡
Omg I love Perth so much, he’s teaching us more about Thai culture than other chanels and best of all…he actually knows that some of us are into BL 😂😂😂
I love the “learning Thai videos” and this kind of sections where he explains some facts/things about BL series, to be honest his videos always make my day, baby you can talk about anything and I’ll be here for sure xD
"Raikantopeni" is my favourite word EVER!
You’re totally right! I didn’t know I needed a video about Raikantopaini but it turns out I do! This is very informative and entertaining!
I started watching Perth just por the series of For The Casual BL Fan and is the best decision that i've made, his videos are really helpfull and I love his charisma 🥺💚
I have no idea why I'm watching perth teaching me raigantopaini but he's more engaging than my Spanish teacher in college. Props to you perth!
I feel watched by Perth 💀💕he knows we all have at least once tried to say the whole intro. Thank u teacher Perth!
Thank you for your service, this is what ppl need. Also I file this under 'what I wanted to ask, but was afraid to and also didn't have anyone to ask.'
I can’t stop laughing. Cuz I’m totally sitting here, practicing a content rating system announcement over my breakfast. Lololololololololol
Omg Perth can't believe you actually made a content out of this 😍
3:24 We might be needing a Perth asmr vid at some point, that sounded so soothing
P'Perth, can you introduce the "ไก่ย่างถูกเผา" (The chicken song) next time? I think it appears a lot in Thai series😝😝😝 It sounds interesting.
I agreeeeee
PLEASE
I too wanna know about that song!! That one and the Papaya, Orange, Melon or whatever is the name of that fruit salad song 😂😂
yeah hahaha I've heard it a lot on college freshman
Lol that’s the basic songs every Thai knows, we grown up with them. Mostly used in school, university’s events, especially sport and orientation events. Kinda like a way of entertaining and let us be assertive. Actually you can briefly see a person’s personality when someone make them dance to those songs lmao, just judging by their expression/reaction.
I'm here not just because i'm a bl fan or someone who wants to learn more about thai language. But this is my second video that i'm watching of Perth in a short pan of half an hour and i really liked the way he explains it. I never thought the aloof guy from My Engineer would be this cheerful and funny. I'm glad that my curiosity made me watch this video. Now i want to learn a little bit of thai too thanks to Perth
I've been interested in learning Thai for quite some time (prolly cuz Imma BL fan and also love Asian cultures in general) so I'm glad that khun Perth trying to educate us fans.. khab khun na krub 🙏🏻💖
Note: I really wanna see you explore and educate us about Thai culture on your future videos, that would be interesting 😍
When I first saw you in the show your personality seems different from the rest of the cast specially your English pronunciation.
I fell for you😍 instantly
Gosh you know the BL fans so well 😂 waiting for the vid!
Esse é sem dúvida o canal mais necessário que existe pra quem assiste bl kkkkk OBRIGADO PELO VIDEO 👏🏻
This was so sweet and educational! Also, am I the only one who wants the merch now? xD
Perth is a great teacher, it really helps when the pronunciation is explained in this way! Keep it up, love it!
Thanks for this one Perth. Thanks!
I really love this series🤣 Raikantopeni had been our inside jokes for years🤣 was laughing so hard when i saw the tittle🤣 Perth you're the best!!!
The (for the casual BL fan) always gets me
😂😭😂😭
A short but entertaining video, this really made my day, thanks Perth!
Can’t wait, loving the BL Fan series ❤️❤️
the first yt video of perth’s i’m watching and i know i’m gonna be a regular already! this was so interesting and informative, he is so well-spoken and idk how but he deffo suits being a youtuber lmao
Oh my god this is way too iconic. We don't know Thai but we know Raikantopaini and Oishi. Thank you na kha ❣️
I SCREAMED SO LOUDLY AFTER I HAD SEEN THE INTRO oh my goodness Perth I love you
6:17 Muchas gracias Perth, aprendí mucho sobre el Raikantopeni, su pronunciación, significado, los 6 tipos que existen. Me gustan mucho tus vídeos son educativos. Saludos desde Perú 😊
X2
Perth's channel is the introduction to Thai culture that I never knew I needed. haha Loving all the content.
More videos on iconic and frequently used words and phrases from BLs, PLEASE! 🙏
Thank you for all of your hard work, Perth! 👏
I had ASSUMED this was a program rating announcement, but it's the only part that doesn't have subtitles so I am very grateful for this video haha
You are entertaining as always. Thank you Perth, keep it up!!
Perth, thanks for educating us! Very interesting to learn :)
man idek if its appropriate to say this but i kept laughing for the whole 6 minutes perth youre a legend for doing this
Perth, we all appreciate it you so much! This one was super fun. The "casual BL" series is my favorite!
Gosh, i really love this man
He even do this guide to us crwzy fans 😭💖💖♥️💕
Amo a este hombre lptm
I can't explain how much i love ur videos!!!! 😊 So informative and helpful, thank u so much!
It's literally 1 a.m over here and I've got nothing else to do than learning how to say Raikantopeni lmao
Perth just knows what we need even if we don't know it
oh i giggled when i saw the premiere announcement for this!!! Perth you are really a treasure to us international peeps ^^
i agree with everyone saying we appreciate p'Perth for reading the comment section. thank you for making us feel included, P! we hope you can do a day in your life soon and how it is conversing with your friends there. thank you!
