Joanna and Rob are such a good duo; loved their energy together both here and in the holiday binge tip video y'all did with Chris over on the new channel.
In regards to Amy Adams: 1) Arrival is one of my 2 favorite movies of this century. 2) Sharp Objects would have been, hands down, the best series on television in every other year except for the year with Chernobyl. I still think about that show every now and then and how devastating it is. 3) Her greatest performance may be as Giselle in "Enchanted." She is absolutely believable as an animated character come to life.
Not even yellowing Amy Adams in Her is a crime against humanity. Saying she has a nothing part is like saying her role in The Master is just the wife. She is the reason why Her's ending works!
A couple of things: What's Sean's extreme aversion to Man of Steel all about? I think that's a great comic book movie. Also, Rob is so right about American Hustle. I saw that movie in the theater, and I can't remember a single thing that happened
I always thought Bill was off base on his Amy Adams take but reviewing her career like this he's not that far off. She has some gems, but fewer than I thought...
Junebug (auto-GREEEN,the start really of her career, even though she was suppose to take off after 'Catch me if you can' - I was there w/her at Sundance) , Enchanted, The Arrival, The Fighter, Doubt, Vice, American Hustle, Night-bitch, Her, Sharp Objects (pulling from TV) - incredible filmography.
JESSE PLEMMONS in Civil War, normally nice guy punchingbag, is terrifying! The Bikeriders low key cool with some great performances, particularly Tom Hardy. Nomination for best Syd Sweeny performance, Reality, a movie that flew under the radar post COVID but pretty amazing as a dramatatic re-enactment of a transcript.
Like and respect them very much but boy did Sean and Jo completely miss the boat on Nocturnal Animals. For me one of the best movies of the last decade.
Totally understand the Austin Butler Dune Part Two love, but Chalamet owned the film in his extremely high stakes speech in Chakobsa to convince people to follow him. I was spellbound
What's so hard about doing a speech in a fake language? The cinematography made that speech good, not the acting. I thought Chalamet was mid throughout, but especially in the first movie.
I have always been a fan of Sean....but his take on "My Old Ass"...What the hell Sean. Wake up!!!!! Ms Robinson is so right. Maisey Stella gives one of the performances of they year. (Plus it is hard to believe that you haven't talked about the film. At the end of the screening at the WGA there were cheers!!!. Do you know how hard it is to get a room full of writers to cheer?!)
You're not really sold on those last three yellows that you turned to green. I know it's not a movie, but you should probably throw in Sharp Objects. Joanna was right at the beginning.
Agreed. I'm down with flipping Rob and CR; but Rob probably fits this show better. Amanda is slightly over hated, but Joanna is a far superior pundit in every way.
Joanna and Rob are such a good duo; loved their energy together both here and in the holiday binge tip video y'all did with Chris over on the new channel.
Joanna and Rob are great and Mallory and CR are great
Need more Jo and Rob on The Big Pic. A nice change of pace from the usual.
The suppression of Lupita Nyong’o’s star potential is one of the untold stories of hollywood’s last decade.
Arrival IS a MASTERPIECE
In regards to Amy Adams:

Sunshine Cleaning is one of my hidden gems movies. I wish it had made the HOF list.
Not even yellowing Amy Adams in Her is a crime against humanity. Saying she has a nothing part is like saying her role in The Master is just the wife. She is the reason why Her's ending works!
I love that movie but her role wasn’t that big in Her
The love for Miss Pettigrew lives for a day, thank you guys! Almost makes me forget the yellow for sunshine cleaning :D
Sharp Objects is Amy Adams best performance on-screen. No question.
shocked and disappointed no one is mentioning Daniel Craig in Queer. lights out performance and great movie. unsure why it's not getting the love.
There are so many insane opinions in this episode.
The Amy Adams conversation has more disagreement than the Big Picture usually has and I thought that was refreshing
Shout out to Willa Fitzgerald in Strange Darling, Laurie Pavy in Mads and Carolyn Bracken in Oddity
I LOVE the love for ARRIVAL on this!!!! Thank you!!!!
A couple of things: What's Sean's extreme aversion to Man of Steel all about? I think that's a great comic book movie. Also, Rob is so right about American Hustle. I saw that movie in the theater, and I can't remember a single thing that happened

I don’t get really get where Joanna is trying to go with the Brutalist/Nightbitch comparison
I don't know how anyone can NOT like "American Hustle."
Cate deserved her oscar
Not one mention of Chris Hemsworth's nose in Furiosa smdh
Not putting DOUBT into the Amy Adams Hall of Fame is crazy talk!! Sorry guys
Emma Corrin is nonbinary, they/them
The idea that 2-3 is the worst kid age and saying that "4,5,6 is awesome!" Is hilarious. Every age is challenging as a parent
the only other two performances i would throw in are two other Nicholas Hoult performances - in Juror #2 and The Order
This is good chemistry.

How could you think Amy Adams is anything other than one of the greatest actors of this or any generation?
Wait, a podcast about Amy Adams without Bill??? What a wasted opportunity!😀
Who is nasaling breathing into the mic the whole episode? 😂
"she's not Kwame Brown out there" was killing me
Amy Adams hasn't been on a DC film set since 2016. Saying it derailed her career "the last five years" (2019-2024) is a bit of a stretch.
When someone quotes PSH in Charlie Wilson’s War, we are obligated to pause and go watch the clip.
JESSE PLEMMONS in Civil War, normally nice guy punchingbag, is terrifying! The Bikeriders low key cool with some great performances, particularly Tom Hardy. The commercials are insane on the ep. Why so many?
Not yelling, but hoped someone brought up Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, Josh Hartnett in Trap and Willa Fitzgerald in Strange Darling.
Y'all forgot to shout out Chris Hemsworth in furiosa
Like and respect them very much but boy did Sean and Jo completely miss the boat on Nocturnal Animals. For me one of the best movies of the last decade.
I'm sorry, but Amy Adams speech in Talladega about why Ricky Bobby should race again is an all timer. YOU RIDE IT, BOBBY! YOU RIDE IT!
They didn't see Junebug before she got Enchanted, just FYI
Totally understand the Austin Butler Dune Part Two love, but Chalamet owned the film in his extremely high stakes speech in Chakobsa to convince people to follow him. I was spellbound

I agree with Sean. It's a nice film for sure, but it didn't really live up to the premise for me. Stella is good but it needed more Plaza imo.
You're not really sold on those last three yellows that you turned to green. I know it's not a movie, but you should probably throw in Sharp Objects. Joanna was right at the beginning.
Can someone tell Rob to stop breathing into the mic so hard?
This might be the worst HOF the Big Pic has ever put together. Core Amy Adams performances were just completely kicked to the curb.
Amanda free Big Picture has been amazing!
I thought the 3's were great
This should be the Big Picture lineup.
Agreed. I'm down with flipping Rob and CR; but Rob probably fits this show better. Amanda is slightly over hated, but Joanna is a far superior pundit in every way.
Holy shit it's
Bruce Vilanch!!!
Both Dune movies suck btw
You don’t like Van Lathan so no one should take anything you say seriously
@@reviewer0418 oh look, Van's burner account. Got your cowboy hat on?
Wow! Way to completely dismiss the work of one of the great visual stylists currently working.
@excharger are you literally shaking?
Okay edgelord
