I have heard quite a few covers of this and wow , love what you did with this too . I am a 59 year old metal fan who grew up on Black Sabbath and then all the later metal bands . Hearing songs turned into metal versions is amazing when done right , and you did it right Jay .

went looking for a metal cover of this song because i had a "metal cover of christina perri's jar of hearts" shaped hole in my heart and you did not fail to deliver. i found another cover that's more traditional angry screamo metal and it's really good, but what i like about this cover so much is how you utilize the harmonies that perri uses in the original song, and how well that pairs with the guitars. something about your voice also reminds me of older, more traditional metal bands like pantera and metalika, so it's just a cool vibe all around. this is a fantastic cover and i loved it.
i also love the general low budget vibe of the music video. that probably wasn't an intentional artistic choice and was more likely from a genuine lack of resources to make something more high budget, but i promise you this video would not be the same with a higher budget / higher quality music video. something about it being like this makes it seem a lot more personal and effective as an art piece in general, so i promise i'm not making fun of you haha.
i know artists on spotify can see what playlists their music has been put on, so if you see your cover added to a playlist of a random anime character, that was me LOL.

When I heard the original I couldn't stop imagining the guitar and the drums in the background, the vocals were perfect for a metal/rock song. But this is a really good cover. All the best man.
