I think both endings, original and alternate, would have been incorporated into the movie just fine. Obviously they didn't realize that they could have had the original ending of them speaking to their couple therapist and then added the alternate ending by adding "Five Years Later" to flash forward to when they had the kid. It would have been even better. But that's just my opinion.

As much as I LOVE this alt. ending, I'm glad they gave us the ending that they did in the actual movie. That way it left us with an opening for a possible sequel [with more to the plot hopefully & more action], then later they can give us an actual ending like this.
I like this ending but I think this should’ve took place after the credits rather than as the ending of the film. The original ending made more sense as they’re shown to be in counselling throughout the film so it made more sense to show they were a lot more happier in their relationship by the counselling being the ending.
