I'm clearly just a Tipton fanboy but he looks so cool chugging away at the this riff, focused and relaxed. The whole band's creating this giant wall of sound and he's just standing there all stoic-like, it really helps to show off his economy-of-motion style. GT is and always has been one of the greatest metal guitarists period.
Nicklas Sjödin if you look at it with a technical standpoint, this is practically Angel of Retribution. The whole verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-solo-chorus structure wasn't always in the Jugulator songs and so Demolition's return to this formula was a return to classic, 80's Priest.
well at one time people thought theyd lost touch from 82 onwards, there were probably fans who were young during their 70s period that disregarded painkiller as being bullshit. to me all priest is priest regardless. whether its sad wings, point of entry, turbo or nostradamus and eveyrthing in between
I get your point, but the main reason why this album and Jugolator is not seen as part of the "official" Priest collection is because of the near thrash metal sound they both had. I love trash metal so I really enjoy both of these albums but if you play these songs for a Priest fan that have never heard the Ripper era songs I think very few of them would be able to tell that this is Judas Priest from the sound.
And the logic behind this heavier sound I think has to do with the really positive reception of Painkiller which was much heavier sound wise than their earlier albums, so I think that they thought "hey lets keep going down that road".
gotta say youre wrong. they didnt do these albums becauase they thought fans love painkiller. they were trying their hand in the nu metal/industrial sound with priest stamp. bands like for example, fear factory or machine head. think about it turbo was very different to vengeance and defenders, just like ram it down was to turbo or vengeance was to point of entry priest have always done what they wanted. jugulator and demolition arent THaT thrashy, theyre post/thrashish
This kicks ass as does ALL priest. I personally separate the two, the Ripper stuff is heavier, Halford is well, Halford, nuff said, and its badass too, just in a different way. So just enjoy the music for what it is......METAL.
And they act like he is the cause of how "terrible" Jugulator and Demolition were (I personally love them), but they fail to understand that he had almost no part in writing the songs. That's why he started a solo project; so he would try his hand at songwriting. If they want to complain about the Ripper era, they better complain about Glenn and K.K. too, because they did most of the musical work.
Ripper fronted some decent thrash offerings from the Priest. But, he was NEVER a "Halford Clone", even though Priest offered him up to be one. Had Priest openly admitted that he was nothing like Rob, and that they "were moving in a new direction", people would've appreciated Ripper more.
its the song that sux, not the soundcheck sound or playing. generic boring wannabe thrash w/ singer trying to sound like rob zombie here. sux. and I love JP. just not this.
THis shit is ripping , I remember I instantly hated Judas Priest minus Halford out of pure prejudice... 15/16 years later I´m listening to some incredible4 Metal music !
The whole Demolition album is extremely underrated and full of talented Headbanging Heavy Metal. Ripper Owens totally rocks and he deserves a way more credit than he has ever recieved. Glenn Tipton's production was top notch on this album.
I respect what Rob Hallford did for Judas Priest and Heavy metal in general, but this vocalist is simply amazing. Too bad (in some way) Rob came back. Long Live Heavy Metal.
Excellent! I wish they would have played this when I saw them. Ripper was a great replacement for Rob. When Rob came back his high register was gone completely and now his whole range is going. Sad but true, people do age.
+Carlos Alberto Hidalgo Moreno Yeah I know right that's why I don't really like them in this era because the music they were making with Tim Ripper Owens was very heavy, it is too heavy for me so I prefer them in the era with Rob Halford much better.
+Stephen Grbavac of course, Rob Halford as Frontman is unbelieve! its I love Judas Priest and Ripper season as them Vocals was fucking great, a lot of magazines did not give to him a real named as Judas Priest singer, i think was amazing. Regards!
Though I can do without the expletive (only because it seems forced) this is a killer song and riff! Very underrated. Best Ripper era song. Awesome 😎🤘🏻
@@NguyenDuong-eo2tb ironicamente hizo de algunos temas de jp clasico mas potentes o termino siendo el vocalista kk priest (2 temas potentes) ojala kk gire tocando ese material y parte jugulator y demolition.
@gengszter01 What the hell are you talking about? All I said was that this song kind of sounds like it could be by metallica imo. And JP formed in 68 so around the time JP was 13 years old metallica was working on there first album. :)
God i miss him being in the band even though Rob Halford is the true metal god of this band! Who else thinks they should reunite with Ripper and do a ripper version of the band aswell as the Rob version at the same time, just like Black Sabbath did with original sabbath and Heaven and Hell?!!!

Legendary
Ripper Owens is underrated, sure this is not really classic judas priest but its still kickass metal.

If this is not a kick-ass song, I do not understand HM music! Love Ripper, Love Priest with Ripper, Love Priest with the GOD, Judas Priest FOREVER🤘
No way to find best replacement for Rob Halford than Ripper Owens in Judas. What a powerfull voice, jesuschrist..
One of my favorite Priest songs!!!!

Great comment!
Everyone needs to stop hating on Ripper. Rob said himself that Ripper is a "true Rob Halford clone".
Ripper was just 'perfect' for Judas Priest :)

@@agentbuckwall2806 KK’s Priest exists, go check ‘em out :)
I like this rehearsal more than the studio version despite 2:24 👌
everyone saying this sux, please remember this is a SOUNCHECK ;)
I think this sounds even better

If you wanna see more of Ripper, check out KK’s Priest. They already released two albums.
I am a fan of KK's Priest.
This riff is addictive
Can't get it ouf of my head
A classic trike and great vocals and album as whole
Here,listen again
Mis 3 discos favoritos de Priest Painkiller Jugulator y Demolition
Joder la caña que metía Judas en esa época
My favorite song with Tim. Hail to Glen and Ken - without you no more Judas Priest!
If my local gym played this stuff over its speakers instead of the usual dance crap, I'd be a hell of a lot more motivated to work out.
The power of this song is blowing my mind out !!!!!!
Judas Priest...best reggae band ever!
Very well said. 😂👍🤘
Why didn't this era of Judas Priest get more attention? Such a shame
I totally agree!
19 people didn't see the machine man coming..

I respect what Rob Hallford did for Judas Priest and Heavy metal in general, but this vocalist is simply amazing. Too bad (in some way) Rob came back. Long Live Heavy Metal.
His name is Tim “Ripper” Owens.
you must be some kid who doesn't know anything about halford there is only one singer for judas priest his name is Rob Halford
Excellent! I wish they would have played this when I saw them. Ripper was a great replacement for Rob. When Rob came back his high register was gone completely and now his whole range is going. Sad but true, people do age.
UnforGiving.. yes sr they do he's been screaming FOR OVER 45years getting older takes it's TOLL for sure..
I do really hope Jugulator and Demolition get a remaster
The ripper, this man really sings !
Sounds good to me
Saw them in 2002, with Ripper, great show. Nice guy too, got to meet him and Scott Travis after the show
Perfectsong!
Great riff!
Ripper kicks ass here. Glad that he was part of Judas Priest.
that strong voice........lml
the ripper era was so Heavy, edgeing Thrash

Yeah, because Painkiller and Ram it Down were pure Turboesque songs.
+Dean Winchester Ram it down and Turbo were supposed to be a double album originally
not edgeing thrash it's heavier than thrash
This is gold.
Holy cow, that was awesome!
Wish JP would re-release Owen's stuff on Vinyl.
or just make it avability on spotify etc
This is the most underrated Priest song!!
Tim Ripper Owens...........It's like a shovel to the forehead......BLAM!!!!! And you keep coming back for MORE. 🤘🏻🎶🎶💪🏻🎤💪🏻🎶🎶🤘🏻
Though I can do without the expletive (only because it seems forced) this is a killer song and riff! Very underrated. Best Ripper era song. Awesome 😎🤘🏻
This is my favorite tune from the Ripper era, just wondering why the guitars are tuned so friggin low.
That's just where that golden range is for Owens.
nah he sounds better in D or D# instead of C.
amazing ripper owen
you got to be kiddin' me, man!!! A soundcheck should not be as good as this. . .
+ + +
Great performance. Great Ripper
ITS SO AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Machine man come in this is bad as hell man I'm just now getting to listen to it I've never heard this before it's just bad as f****** hell
Best of the JP
One helluva song!
Pure awesomeness!
Those kicks are hot *FIRE* 🔥
If THIS is just the soundcheck, I wonder what the is concert like!
Tipton is so badass, He would make a good James Bond.
@DONTCKLICKMYNAME 2 things :
1.- K.K. and Glen don't destroy their own solos like Kirk
2.- Scott is more cordinated than Lars
Of course, they practice constantly and are able to perfectly play their songs live
Dude Scott is beast you Cannot compare him to lars
This was in the middle of the nu metal era, and still destroys that shit.
Unless the ripper the band wouldn't exist now
bellissima sta canzone!

HERE WE GO!
Tipton is an awesome old dude
I LOVE this!
This kicks ass
good voice
LOVE THIS SONG
A hardworking machine men!
Ripper fuckin' rules!!! I still miss this awesome phase.
Pero que gran y energetica brutalidad, alv...
No etiendo por qué Tim "The Ripper" no fue admitido por muchos fanaticos de Priest, además dicen que era malo.

Mr Scream Machine Tim Ripper Owens... fuck yeah!
Judas priest - machine man

Love it

Can't fault Ripper on vocals. He's doing good with KK's Priest
Ripper kick ass!

Imho, best vocal for old-school metal. "Demolition" - is the only one album which i like from Priest, and "Jekkyl and Hyde" top song from it.
fucking great!!!
@Yosheek11 I mean that this is at high quality sound... there is no other link.
@pparadella Seriously imagine metallica on stage while listening to this.
i need the studio version
hit it Scotty
Ripper is awesome, stop hating him because he replaced halford.
I love him! It’s such a shame he’s criminally underrated!
heavy metal essentials 👊🏾👊🏾
@HHL1967 Scott is pretty good but Halford`s Bobby Jarzombek is up there with Queensryche`s Scott Rockenfield
Tim Ripper Owens is a Monster God.
How does Scott Travis hit every drum right on the spot? I always accidentally hit the rims of my drums during a fill regardless what song I'm playing
is there any chance of a link to download the mp3? It sounds better than the album version.
If only the album sounded this good!
fucking awesome!!!! LIKE
Fuckin Scott crushing it
@swordbutcher They're both good
Tipton⚡⚡💪👊👊💪
Who’s here after KK reunited with Ripper Owens in KKs Priest.
Ripper is a Fucking Vocalist !! \m/
@SovietSnorlax Really? I thought Metal Messiah and Hell is Home were pretty cool.
