Does UNLV QB Matthew Sluka's move open the window for players to hit the portal DURING the season?

This would be the greatest tweet of all time “UNLV pays backup QB turned starter 100k”

Once Fresno State comes to town and beats UNLV this Saturday. They'll pay Sluka first thing Sunday.

F*ck UNLV, they should have upheld their promise to the player. His departure is going to cost them more than $100,000. Especially after he won the job and got them the 3-0 start. The sad part is that UNLV is actively trying to destroy the kid's reputation instead of acknowledging their error.

Danny you made zero sense bro…UNLV clearly and obviously offered him $100 thousand, albeit verbally…it’s still an agreement, and they told him he’d get a contract after enrolling…
Bruh the average QB is already going for $100 K so how is the player at fault in anyway
It takes one player to stand up for what was promised and I doubt we’ll see more of this because every player will want everything in writing prior to transferring or while they’re in the portal

Vegas has become a town of BS. I’ve lived here 10 years and it is RARE that someone does what they say, especially when it comes to money. It sucks that even at this level there is BS.

Until there are some set rules that every school has to follow, this sort of thing will continue to happen. The school already had him in the field winning them games without any agreement formalized. They thought they had won and he would just accept it. I am glad he is keeping himself and his family as his priority, and I hope he finds a more set in stone offer elsewhere. I also hope UNLV gets burned by this, and other top recruits avoid their sleazy practices.

Disrespectful to how good UNLV is on the defensive side of the ball. We will beat Fresno Saturday and get a good look at how much this really hurts the offense.

$100K? Cam Newton got MUCH more that at Auburn 15 years ago...allegedly.

Cam Newton would command millions if NIL existed when he played…you’re not really making any point here

That's a very negative post. If this young man was cheated out of promised money, why would you wish injury on him? Also he's not going to the NFL. This money really matters to him

Danny Kanell has to be the dumbest water carrier for college football commentary. So, an employer lures you to relocate. Ask you to put weeks in the whole. Still doesn't honor THEIR offer. Then renegotiates in bad faith. And it could be your fault according to Danny. Or like he said. ITS NO ONES FAULT! 😂😂😂😂😂
