Me too. And I like it so much, I've grown to tolerate less and less ill-intent from people. I'm nice and approachable and generous when I meet them, but if I walk into a restaurant and they immediately interrupt or shout at me, just for example, I just say, "oh well!," and walk out. 😁👍 Lololol!
Any man with a decent house, who looks half respectable and seems to have his life together will attract parasites like flies. did you ever meet the son of a wealthy man who didn't have a pregnant live-in girlfriend?.
You just need somebody you can interact with and get one of them automatic beepers I felt like I can't get up that's all you need is a lot better than having a woman up your ass all the time
I guess the bottom line is some folks do well being alone and some don't, you can never say all people. I'm in my 60's and with my grand pianos and pets, reasonably content. I see folks a couple of times a month but that is generally enough.
Same here. In my 60's. living alone up in the mountains and loving it. No mortgage, no debt, and no credit card payments. Able to live on a low income because there is no partner demanding high cost cars, clothing, or vacations. I have a life alert for emergencies and have all my legal papers are completed and my funeral services are prepaid.
I am right there with you buddy. I've been living alone since I was in my forties and life has been good. All my married buddies do is complain about being married.
Here's a tip to keep the dishes from piling up. Just have one or two dinner plates, forks, spoons, knives, etc. Put the rest away. Whenever you eat, wash your one dish and knife, fork and spoon as soon as you finish eating. Takes about 30 seconds, your dishes never pile up, and they are always clean.
I bought one of those small dishwashers that sits on your counter and drains into the sink. Works great, wish I'd done it years ago. Still have to handwash large pans, but I don't really use them much these days so it's fine (and Dawn Powerwash helps a lot there...)
@@thirdsamuel6643living alone doesn't mean not having any social interactions- how do you serve food to others ferchrissakes? rather than living the lonely one plate life you're suggesting, how about just recommitting to not being a lazy slob?
Great advice. My wife passed almost 2 years ago. Being by myself is not something I enjoy. Some say they like the peace they have. I had an opposite situation several days ago. I got a call from my 11 years old granddaughter's school. They couldn't reach her Mom so they called me. I was having a bad day dealing with my loneliness and cancer situation. My granddaughter was screaming her teeth hurt and was at the nurses office. I rushed to the school and took her to the dentist for a loose tooth. Thus my day was turned upside down. Yet it was great to spend the afternoon with my granddaughter and have lunch with her. It made me feel I was useful and can help when needed.
Clearly you are not doing the right things for your health. Where do you think cancer comes from? It comes mainly from your diet (except certain types of cancer such as lung cancer). This means they are mostly due to people's own lifestyle choices. Loneliness is also a choice, an emotional addiction to people that you refuse to see for what it is and dump it. Try developing a life philosophy like stoicism. You can't control everything. The things you can't control you must discard because they waste your energy. Focus only on the things you can control, your diet, exercise, etc. This approach can only improve your experience to some degree.
no children, widowed 6 years ago after 29 years. she wanted a dog 6 months before she died in her sleep. the dog is the best thing ever. i am a happy hermit by nature, but the dog drags me out for 4-6 walks a day. have met all the neighbors for blocks around, bring in the trash cans, tuck amazon packages closer to the house, shovel snow in the winter. @@jamesmack3314 I'm 68 male and live alone. I’m working on actually getting help when I need it. About 15 years ago, my former landlord’s wife passed away while he was out of town, and no one found her body until a few days later. So, I’m really aware of that risk, and I’ll have someone checking in on me regularly. I also decided a long time ago never to buy a two-story house-it’s gotta be one level to make things easier as I get older.
People often confuse being alone ( not a problem ) , with being lonely ( a problem ) . They do not necessarily go hand in hand . Great video , Great advice . 👍👍
After two divorces due to ex wives cheating on me ....20 yrs. Of single living ...is a calm, quiet, peaceful experience. No drama . No lies...no deception ...Just my own space ..! Awesome ...
If you call being lonely all the time awesome, then so be it. I had 2 divorces, one long term and one short. I am 62 well off and would love to have someone in my life. After being single for 11 years now it's one of the worst things in life being lonely all the time.
I hear you Randy, and you too Arliss. I lived and worked from home alone for a few years in my late 30's - it drove me bananas and I couldn't stay sober. Truly, if there was a switch you could flip and turn off the sex-drive, I'd easily be a millionaire by now. I wound up marrying the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen and now I'm constantly screwed up thinking she might be cheating on me.
To paraphrase a saying from Robin Williams - Being alone is not a problem. Having people around you that make you feel alone is the problem. Great topic. Best wish to you, Jen, and Rogan.
Any man with a decent house, who looks half respectable and seems to have his life together will attract parasites like flies. did you ever meet the son of a wealthy man who didn't have a pregnant live-in girlfriend?.
One final thing, sir, I wanted to thank you for your time and your wisdom I you and your courage to get online and share yourlife’s experiences and lifestyle. Can’t say I would go to the Philippines except for the pretty girls, but they will just use you better off being alone here in the states.
Living alone has its pro's and cons. The one thing that I think that is important is to have the proper mindset. Accept your life for what it is. Find your strengths and know your weaknesses. Do the things that make you happy.
I'm 64, best friend 70, we realized about 4 years ago that it wasn't so great financially to be on our own when we crunched numbers, we now share a 2/2 condo, enough room to have privacy, we have helped with medical appointments and other issues that have come up. If you find someone that's really a good match, you don't have to live alone in silence and you get human interaction which is invaluable. We also maintain our own interests, some friends in common, we are in a senior community, but this works in any community.
I resolved this problem. I have no family, they’ve all passed away. I certainly don’t care to remarry. I moved to a poorer country so I could afford to live off my social security. After a few years of getting to know the locals I made a deal with a young man and his wife, that I get to live with them until I die. They take care of me and when I’m dead, they inherit what I have, which is considerable in their country. Any day now we will have a new baby in the house. Never had children, so I’m really looking forward to being “a grandmother” and teaching the baby English. I feel like I’ve got new purpose in life.
Make peace with your past... like an emotional de-cluttering... travel lighter and have no regrets or unsaid things... Don't try to win old arguments with ex-wives or ungrateful children... just forgive them (even in their absences) and move on... forgive yourself and accept you did the best you could at the time... basically, don't live with the ghosts of the past...
I'm similar age (a little older) and in great shape physically. But I'm already planning for when my health and physical capabilities decline. I'll be looking to move to a town/city with at least one really good hospital where I can walk to get what I need, like to the supermarket, instead of driving everywhere. And have pets, of course. I don't want to be in a situation where I need help (through no fault of my own) and can't get it.
I agree that it's good to have a friend or friends to check on you. You have to learn how to manage your life whether you're alone or not. Life wasn't meant to be perfect. I was in an unhappy marriage for over 25 years, and am totally happy now. I make sure that I have a certain amount of social contact with people. I make time for moderate exercise, reading, as well other activities to keep my mind sharp. Whatever your situation, you have to make a plan that fits you and establish a routine so you can have structure. And make a conscious decision to be happy no matter what your situation. One thing I have definitely decided not to do is move to a foreign country like the Philippines or any other country as at my senior age. I allowed myself to have that fantasy for awhile but after watching expat videos, I have decided it is just not a sound idea for me. Thanks for sharing this valuable advise Mark.
The one simple thing as a whistle can be life saving in any situation at any age. I’ve been touting this for years. It’s louder and carries farther than your voice and doesn’t require a lot of effort to signal someone. I use one set of dishes and clean them after eating. When I’m lazy, I use paper plates and plastic utensils. Use once and done. My neighbor has a key to get into my house in an emergency. Great advice that a lot of seniors never think about until it’s too late.
I'm 70 years old and I'm one of the lucky ones. Both daughters & their families live less than 10 minutes from me. We help each other. It's a great support system. I know how fortunate I am.
I'm an ex military and keep a spotless house and often thin out stuff i collected over the years. I work 60 hours per week ,do home projects and play at the guitar. Life alone is great as long as you move it move it baby.
@@goofyjohn6191 Yeah that's right if you've got interests and hobbies Then being alone isn't really a big deal having friends is good And I find I socialise more when I'm out and about at the shopping centres I'm more talkative And I get to express myself and have conversation in ways like that
@@sagora3114Well hobbies and interests should be a given. And I think the problem with a lot of older women is that they don’t have any hobbies or interests, and just want a man to fill the void.

Good advice! I am 71. My dog and I start our day with a two mile walk before sunrise. That serves as the inspiration to stay active during the day. I push mow instead of using my riding mower. As a veteran, I stay active in the American Legion as the Finance Officer. There are so many activities out there for seniors. I do not drink alcohol or sugary drinks. I make my own healthy meals. It's easy to do if you make your healthy practices routine. Make your bed everyday. Simple things like that. Thank you for your video and your concern. Rob in N.C.
I turn 60 in December of this year. Was married for 22. Divorced 12 years ago. Initially was lonely. Dated for a couple of years just after the divorce. Most of the women I dated wanted a checkbook, a safety net, or were controlling or damaged. While I would still enjoy having someone to be with, it’s simply not worth going through the process. I work, go to the gym, and have family nearby. The only worry I have is being injured at my home. The upside is that I can do whatever I want and my whole house is my “man cave”. The downside is that I don’t have someone with which to share new experiences. We’ll see how I feel in another ten years.
I'm alone living here in the Philippines. I do like it. I have many friends I go with to do things and my neighbors all know I am in my mid 60's and check with me every day or so. I am in great shape for my age, but anything can happen at any time.
I've lived alone most of my life, but I'm very comfortable with it. 2 years ago, I was off of work for 7 weeks to recover from a hip replacement. I felt without purpose not having a work routine for about two weeks. Afte that, I began to organically develop new routines to make my days fulfilling. I have a ton of hobbies and interests that had fallen by the wayside and my interests in them returned. It was more of an adjustment going back to work and to a routine that I have to endure for the next year and a half. I saw that time off as a taste of my soon to be retiurment and I relish the day when I can return to that organic schedule and live my best life.
Every time I need that obscure tool that I haven't used for years, or a piece of material among my saved stuff, I feel rewarded for not having fallen for the "decluttering" craze.
I’m in my mid 70s, found a great part-time job two days a week. It’s an opportunity to meet with people, feel purposeful and continue my retired life five days a week.
Yes!! This is what I’m seeing with retired family members. They are alone but I believe they need a partime job. Somewhere where they can interact with people other than me or themselves. They been in the workforce and very productive and I think they miss that. Idle minds are the devils playground.
Same. I'm in my mid 60s and all my friends retired. I am working part time for the social interaction because all my family are dead. It is also great as an inflation hedge and it keeps my mind sharp. I notice how people decline rapidly as soon as they stop work (both physically and cognitively).. I still have plenty of time for non-work pursuits.
Congrats on getting a good situation worked out. I retired 4-5 years ago. Loafed for 9 months and got a job. It only lasted about 4 months, then Covid laid me low for a while. Never went back to work, and now I physically would be very questionable. I've cut and sold a little firewood, and enjoyed meeting new people. It's a mixed bag, to be sure. I hope you have a long and joyful reetirement!
As a cancer survivor at 62, I can tell you a big downside to not having a good woman. You need an advocate at the hospital, she noticed things before anyone else , she was there early until late in my room, and took care of me when I got to go home after months in the hospital. She even gave me the medications though my Central Line which could of killed me if not done correctly. I can never repay her for her dedication to me, except to love her unconditionally. I am now 69.
@@sweetbeep Wrong assumption. You seem to think “the others” are God’s gift or whatever. best of your best videos! In my 70s and can agree with your comments. I live alone and those points you mentioned are spot on. When I do DIY stuff, I keep reminding myself 'pay attention, what are you doing, lock the legs' etc. In Thailand lots of retired guys stay in 'vacation mode' like eating and drinking at will, then their health condition plummets by and by. I like Freddy's comment of a month ago, '... get rid of toxic people' and I read that as people who unintentionally or not get on your nerves. I admit that I have not taken on a regular exercise program, like outdoor walking, but I usually have my apartment clean enough when I have visitors. Most older foreigners here do not adapt to a lifestyle where they do not become fat and with declining health markers.
I'll be 56 next July and I've been living alone for the last 21 years after me and my wife divorced. I dated here and there for 5 or so years then started a business that had me working 6 and 7 days a week. As of now I have some front yard chickens that keep me eating healthy with daily eggs, rarely ever eat out. But yeah way too much stuff! Gets any worse you may see me on an episode of Hoarders. But hey a good video definitely gives me some stuff to think about. Actually hoping and looking forward to meeting a nice lady that could put up with me. Good luck guys.
One way to stop time feeing like it moves too quickly is to do different things. Falling into a very strict routine for the sake of 'efficiency' really makes time feel like it speeds up. Do things out of the ordinary. Going somewhere you've never been to makes the journey feel long, whereas the way back seems shorter and if you start do it several times (like a commute) the route becomes over-familiar and so 'short'.
I live in a remote areal alone and missed the conversations that I would have with people so I looked into ham radio. I took tests to get my licenses for ham radio and now I use it daily to have conversations with people from all over the world. There are lots of very interesting people from all over. It was a great idea to keep human interaction in my day to day routine. It is a great hobby for those who live alone.

I listened to the first minute. If you are worried go to assisted living or get one of those medical alert things.. life is always a trade off, in this case for me it is a lot more freedom for assuming a little more risk. We must each make our own call. I’m only 70, maybe I’ll feel different at 80, doubt it.. Also, keep yourself physically fit functionally, strength train, stretch, do some cardio.. If you are stronger and practice balance you won’t worry so much about falling.. Cheers!

Lotta truth here. Especially about emergencies and nobody else around. I “do” keep my phone with me at all times while in my home. Another thing is having to be in the hospital for something, and not having anyone around. I know for a fact I was treated differently, because no one was there to fight for me, or know how I’m being treated. My lesson there was to tell someone I’m in the hospital, and get them to visit. I don’t like asking people for help, but sometimes I have to like it or not.
I can go either way with this one...Right now i'm 66 and live alone and it's great that I can do my own thing...But if a Love comes into my life...I can see where it may go..But i'm fine with my life right now..
Thank you for this video! I'm 47, and for now my mother stays with me but I know that won't be forever. So I often think about when I'll be alone, so the information you provided is really helpful!
Greetings! I might add: 1) make younger friends. Try to keep up with them. Be curious about them. Assume the role of 'senior advisor' as necessary. 2) be sure to ask someone you trust to take care of your pets - just in case soomething happens to you - preferably someone your pet is already familiar and comfortable with. In fact, everyone who lives alone with their pets regardless of age should do this - accidents can happen to anyone.
64 years old and learned to love to being alone. Maybe taking a big chance but willing to live with it. ALWAYS BEST TO BE ALONE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS THAN BEING WITH SOMEONE FOR THE WRONG ONES.
That's one thing that concerns me as a guy living alone in my early 50's -- getting tripping hazards out of the way. I'm always stepping over stuff to avoid tripping. I've got a lot of stuff crammed into my small bungalow, and I need to downsize on my possessions big-time.
Great points and well presented Mark. As you said when you live alone you’re your own emergency back up. The freedom of living alone can be a good feeling. However as we get older and that one time emergency and not having someone around can be the difference in life & death. Thanks for sharing a great conversation 👍🏾👏🏾!
If you lived with somebody, they could kill you in your sleep. And, not report your death to keep collecting your SS checks. Is that what you would rather have?
What is the difference between life and death ? Is one good and the other bad ? I don't understand why I should fear one and not the other. I've been resting in peace all my life and don't see any reason why that will change.

I never find solitude wears on me, it's people that wear on me. You made some good points in this video. Thanks.
You know, I came across your reply and I so much agree ! Today many crazy people out there. Whenever I am out , always talking to people starting conversations and so many got many problems and issues. Never see hardly anyone smile anymore and most talk about problems or issues either what they are experiencing or someone else. It's a screwed up world today for sure. A different generation and people out there no common sense or wisdom is lacking. I am internally lonely, but I keep pushing and going each day !!
I see me in many of the situations you discussed. Thankfully, many of your suggestions I already do., Especially having nearby family and neighbors check on me. Super good advise. Thanks
The things you shared with me on this subject will change my life. I have never had information like this available to me, nor did I even know I needed it. And you answered many questions, before I even knew what to ask
These are all great tips for seniors, not just men. I'm in my 40s and work a desk job. My physical condition has definitely deteriorated in the last few years and I'm making an effort to get more active. I also have a grandmother who now lives in a home with dementia. She shouldn't have lived alone as long as she did. Mental deterioration may hamper it, but seniors should be honest with themselves about when they should be moving to a facility with oversight. I come from a family of deeply independent people, but there comes a point when you just can't take care of yourself. Also can't stress the point about de-cluttering. It took months to clear out the house and we found items from as far back as the 60s that clearly hadn't been used in decades. Most of it was useless and thrown out.
I think people are having a blast being alone. Myself, I never knew how much I craved time alone and how awful it was to never have silence when I was married to the extrovert covert narcissist who loved to provoke me. Now I spend my days in the company of 3 dogs, 9 cats, and have my garden. I never knew how good I sleep by not having anyone on my bed. Been celibate and hermit for 7 years. This lifestyle fits me. I do things at my own pace, and the quiet and peaceful days have restored my nervous system. If I die alone, no problem. No one dies alone. You will see how this is true. Don't worry, relax, enjoy life. Pursue hobbies. DO take care of yourself, cook at home, be clean. You deserve it.
I m 63, was married for 22 years, divorced 14 years ago.. But your right. Excellent points With back pain I ended up on the floor unable to find a way to get up. Luckily family members were there but still had to call the emergency services for a paramedic. They gave me laughing gas and the pain went away and I was able to get myself onto the gurney, I had an x-ray and was cleared of any severe back problem. Lesson learned, if back pain returns, set up precautions, take strong pain killer if needed before bed. Keep pain killers, water, walking canes, phones near bed just in case. If I had been alone that morning, I would have laid on the floor for many hours unable to get up.
Very true what you say. I can highly reccomend getting rid of clutter! Know to many people who just stash whatever, because may they'll need it in the future. And it really pulls them down. So get rid of clutter, ALL of it. And you will never look back.
You have to take care of your physical well being as you get older. Continue to work out with weights and do stretches regularly for quality of life! And nutrition is key also!

I use paper plates
Don't put the rest away, don't even own the rest they become to big of a temptation to skip the wash job and grab one of the rest.
Two dish washers solve this.......then store the dishes in one, and alternate each day. The built in types are not that expensive.
I bought one of those small dishwashers that sits on your counter and drains into the sink. Works great, wish I'd done it years ago. Still have to handwash large pans, but I don't really use them much these days so it's fine (and Dawn Powerwash helps a lot there...)

Peace in Christ surpasses all understanding. Bible study class gives you peace. Thanks Lord for your peace and salvation. Peace negates loneliness

Living alone has its pro's and cons. The one thing that I think that is important is to have the proper mindset. Accept your life for what it is. Find your strengths and know your weaknesses. Do the things that make you happy.
exactly, its all relative.

The one simple thing as a whistle can be life saving in any situation at any age. I’ve been touting this for years.

I lost my wife almost 3 years ago now. You are spot on. When alone decline can be a stealthy, slippery slope.
Peace in Christ surpasses all understanding. Bible study class gives you peace. Peace negates loneliness. Thanks Lord for your salvation and peace
Peace and quiet, priceless.
Though I do not live alone, I am on the air every week with my friends in neighboring states using CW for an hour on Thursdays. Ham radio keeps us connected! 73 OM
Just starting with HAM radio.
Always liked using a cb radio.
Can't wait to make new friends.
Hmm , that's probably a bit better then Morse code radio signal
i laughed throughout this video because it felt like you were talking about me. Thanks for the heads up and yes, I will try to avoid the silver from oxidizing together.
Im turning 50 next year, and I really needed to hear this, I never thought about these things.
Just want to tell you when I was around 50 to 60 , I was doing good and got around good, felt good but when I reached about 62 , life and body starts taking a toll on you and thinking starts changing. Things that were important are not important. Goodluck !!!!
Take up a sport as a hobby to stay fit, join a club , I cycle to stay fit and meet people..im 56 and in my best shape, and giving up drinking helped me alot..good luck!
Being on your own is the biggest pleasure in life. No old women.
I agree
Hahahaha😂😂
Haha 😂

I used to think that until I went overseas (at age 40) and married my Filipina Wife. True, marriage isn’t for everyone but that woman saved my life
I go long weekends without speaking a word. Christmas is the worst when you have no-one.
I know. I've been there used to hate Christmas. Now I love it.
New wife baby boy and lots of joy in my life.
Come to the Philippines and start a new life
My mother had an arrangement with another widow, who lived across the street: if one of them didn't have their curtains open by 10 a.m., the other would phone to check if everything was okay.
Your mother was smart
@@erik7386 Thank you! Usually people on the internet do not say such kind things about my mother ... !
What if Chucky is the who's opening curtains. 😳
I remember seeing a bunch of older men and women in the morning at McDonalds. Didn't really think too much of it. Then I realized that not only were they socializing and getting out for coffee and breakfast but it was a way of knowing who wasn't there. If someone didn't show up, they would know right away.
My folks had the same system. My dad was a truck driver and was on the road a lot, left my mom home alone.
Cheers!
I live in a senior veterans housing building… we all have our personal problems - we know that - this podcast is right on, as we look after one another… stay in a life of gratitude. Saying hello to a stranger may save their life…. Thank you
Lotta truth here.
That is an excellent point. I should have mentioned that. In the Philippines you must have someone to help you
Everything you've mentioned is exactly right. Their are a number of activities you can do to prevent yourself from wasting away.
Good advice. Especially about the walking group. I joined a bike riding group. Met lots of nice people. Everyone’s over 60.
Thank you. I'm not in my 80's yet like you, and I appreciate the tips.
I can go either way with this one...Right now i'm 66 and live alone and it's great that I can do my own thing...But if a Love comes into my life...I can see where it may go..But i'm fine with my life right now..
Perfect approach to life rather than being needy and co-dependent
If a love comes your way. Take my advice run like hell, the other way. 😁😂😂😂

Being happy with yourself means everything.
Excellent advice. Thank you for watching ☺️
I'm 65, I own a harley davidson it keeps me busy working on it most of the winter, ride in the summer, always something to tinker with on it.
Why are you afraid of dying? Too many regrets for not living a life true to yourself?
If you lived with somebody, they could kill you in your sleep. And, not report your death to keep collecting your SS checks. Is that what you would rather have?
Right… like sleeping with a grenade-on-timer ⌛️and hoping it takes care of your when the poop hits the fan. 🤡
😂🤣🤦🏾♂️
I strongly recommend people read the comments. They are often just as good or even better than the video itself. The video is very good.
Agreed.
What a great video! I know of more than one guy who’s gotten seriously injured falling off ladders. Just one of your great points
Been living by myself since 1988. It has its difficulties, and its rewards. I don't consider it being alone, I see it as being just me.
I'm 67, great advice thanks. I'll be retired for good in Thailand soon
I'm 56 years old, 3 years divorced, and as you say these things I look around and realize I resemble quite a few of your comments.
Even when I was married I lived in very rural Ky and fell from my garage at 12 feet and no one was coming but maybe the neighbor who lived 500 yards away as wife worked in town 45 min away.. No cell service..If have a heart attack or a stroke as far out as I was in the Ky Boone forest! Your done! The nearest hospital was a 45 min drive... Good advice..Thx!
i have lived on my own for the most part since 1994 and totally on my own since 2008. never had children and never been married. i go for walks for 2 hours almost every day. i have seen and continue to see the way people treat each other and that is not for me. i keep my place pretty clean. i have plenty of hobbies. i keep GOD #1 in my life and i will not live any other way unless GOD tells me other wise but this video is pretty good advice and good tips. thank you and GOD bless you.
I’m 75 and have lived alone for 7 years and have never been happier or more relaxed. 😊😊
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. Really great advice. Thank you.
"Living alone changes your perspective of time!!!" Amen.
Very well thought out! You can tell you put some time into this list. Many of these people don’t want to hear, but need to.
Excellent points
With back pain I ended up on the floor unable to find a way to get up.
This podcast is filled with lots of helpful (and potentially critical) information. Thanks for this!
Thank you for watching ☺️
It’s always lonely at the top, but after all isn’t that the whole point. Embrace your uniqueness and accept your unimportance in the universe.
Well said. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment 😀
Very true what you say. I can highly reccomend getting rid of clutter! Know to many people who just stash whatever, because may they'll need it in the future. And it really pulls them down. So get rid of clutter, ALL of it. And you will never look back.
You met my wife it seems.
Unless you're planning a build house,car,truck,motorcycle, etc.
You have to take care of your physical well being as you get older. Continue to work out with weights and do stretches regularly for quality of life! And nutrition is key also!
At 54, I lifted weights for 36 years. Recently put them down. Now it’s resistance bands, body weight lunges and a morning meditation of lymphatic drainage, basic yoga poses & Tai Chi.
Thanks mom 😁
What lifting weights does for you physically.. Bible study class does for you spiritually. Peace negates loneliness. Thanks Lord for your peace. Peace in Christ surpasses all understanding
Been living alone since 2009 when wife passed away. Thank God Me and my son have great relationship. Helps keep the loneliness to minimum. I’m 67
Great advice here…even for those who are not expats.
I once ran a program called “R U OK?” A senior can sign up when volunteers can call him, morning, midday or night to check on him. A volunteer group like that where you are would help.
Excellent idea. We could use that program here
This is a great idea
@lzu2860 My mother volunteered for a group that made check in calls like that to senior citizens about 25 years ago, when she herself was a senior (a very active senior). 😊
@@everymanhasastory Do you know of some guys there that really do not want to marry now but has a clean-up/ cook maid service that comes weekly or couple times a week ? Cause I do not like cooking at all & would be ideal for me, if I was staying there.
I am 67. I have lived alone for more than 35 years. I think that is enough thinking and considering. I am fine with living alone. I wouldn't have lived this long if I had had to deal with all the drama and quarrels that come with living with someone else.
Ditto... 73 here
Thinking about getting a medical alert device.
Hire a maid or a nurse to check up on you. It is 1% of the cost of a wife.
You don’t even need to go to that extreme just get a cleaner that comes in twice a week.
True! LOL
How about making an effort to be more healthy through diet, exercise, better life choices rather than resorting to other people.
Peace in Christ surpasses all understanding. Peace negates loneliness. Bible study class gives you peace. Thanks Lord for your peace
Dollars and sense! ;)
Good points. I won't worry too much about clutter. Sorry if it is such a chore for my kids, but hey, if you don't want it just throw it out. Your getting some good stuff for free plus my leftover cash. Count your blessings. If there is any room in my casket, just throw some stuff in that you think I might want to take with me.😉
