  • Stored folded for 200 years, finally able to stretch his wings - that’s got to feel good! 🦅
Watch Alexa, one of our conservators, prepare this life-size depiction of a jabiru for his time in the limelight.
See the jabiru in all his magnificence in-person at our current exhibition Animals: Art, Science and Sound: www.bl.uk/events/animals

Her respect for the artwork is touching. Also referring to him as if he was an alive bird tells a lot of her relationship to the object she’s working with.

Fascinating, but needs more info in it. Who's the artist? Was the book produced professionally, including a variety of loose, folded pictures, or did someone buy the picture and then put it in a book for storage? And how did it look once it was ready for display?

Why the music over her talking? You wouldn't have this distraction in a talk.
