I finally got it. For those struggling, he leaves a fairly import tip at the beginning when trying to get the ship on it's belly out of the map. There's an area just before the first arch where shadowed area meets well lit area, and a distinct line separating them. You want to be over the line into the shadow area in order to not explode. I saw that explained in another RUclipsr's video and it's worked for me since then thankfully.

STRUGGLE WITH FLYING? if you do the tight corridors playlist, Midnight starts after the flying bit and you can power through on foot well within par time

Restart the level every 5 fucking seconds: the achievement
So im the only one here that can get out the map easy enough but the map wont load no matter how much i try and when it does the next part wont load and so on and so on
Same for me on Series X. First tunnel won't load after going out of bounds.
I don't know if it was 20 minutes back then, but year is 2022 and it is a 25 minute par time now. And you can complete it flying the broadsword all the way through the level. Just don't crash, though it's difficult to do. If you do crash it's best to restart and try again. The key is not dying once. Skip the enemies except for the hallway crawler section and the composer area. Use a light rifle and a combination of the promethean shotgun and incineration cannon in the composer area. I was able to pull an 18:45 just today. The QuickTime scenes take about 1:45 extra. Keep that in mind.
The ship section is so shitty, even if at slowest speed you barely scratch the ship it explode, even on easy, I tried this level more times than trial and error games jeez, so hateful
I was SWEATING during the quicktime sequence. Died a few times just trying too hard to run through instead of fighting. I managed a 24:52.
I hit 24:39, wild I've never tried so hard on a cutscene

Although I'm pretty good at this part of the mission I still hate it. I want to play Halo, a story-driven shooter, not an obstacle racing game.
Don't forget to check for invisible areas outside the trench battle area. Plus, before you head back inside the trench from the abyss, don't fly too far or your ship will disappear and you hafta go back to the last checkpoint, so make a sharp turn when you get to the opening.
Par time should not require you to glitch out of the map, i find it stupid that devs did this.

@@MacMashPotato Well, it is definitely easier to do it like him if you are trying to do it on legendary, but on normal it just required to fly really precise and knowing where to what to do, since I done all the halo games multiple times on legendary, I did not bother learning how to get out of map, it usually is not that easy, and getting back to map can be even more tricky. and this required more practise that flying it regularly.
@@PhilipProchazka Dude, i dont play lower then heroic, its just too easy below that.
@@MacMashPotatoyou are right about that. Normal is my easy, but for the purposes to get par time on some levels without glitches is sadly easy or normal the best way to go. For example this level, is so long, hard to do do par even on normal. Like told 4:16 already on my feet, but I did not listen to the guide and ended up at 45 minutes so I still have to do it again and skip more people. Which isn't that easy to do as it looks like. Or halo 2 is in general sooo hard to be fast on legendary.

Shadowed area on the first minute is where you lay flat with the airship.
I actually got this before watching the video thinking there has to be some silly or dumb way to get a better time than I did.
Lo and behold, there is! However, if you're like me and didn't do the belly ship trick, I skipped all fights except required kills and my time was 20:39, plenty of time to spare to be under 25:00.
Oh man this is the next Halo game I play LASO on. I am really dreading it, but thanks to studying your skips that and the stuff from haloruns I might just be able to pull it off.
Tried the Halo 4 playlist, Tight Corridors. Did this twice, within the par time, for no achievement. Will try the regular way, next.

Cleared all par times first try! Played all the Halos previously but never played 4 before.. I feel like most of it was running. I can see why this is one of the easier LASOs lol. Thanks Silver!

Update I'm still having issues par timing this terrible mission and probably never will,this skip even crashed my Xbox

I wish 343i did that for the flying part of this mission,I honestly hate playthrough it,it's so hard to see.
Also there's canons in the final part that will blow you up btw
the crawler in the beginning does have a binary rifle lol

I can't get the second portion of the tunnels to load. Does it not work on PC?

Same here, I exploded instead when I tried flying around a bit more. Bad guide in that regard.
Dam, 12 second's to slow, now that sucks for me lol
I really hate this level, running windows 7 and everything is glitchy sometimes the game refuses to respond to my controller at all and I suck to begin with so yeah lots of fun. hell even on halo 2 with full shields on normal came up to a shot gun flood before the combat could melee or shoot at me I instantly died when I tried to kill him with an energy sword for no bloody reason... there are times I will be moving around and come to a dead stop for 3 to 4 seconds whilst everything else is moving the game pad just stops respondingl, hate windows 10 but may end up going to 10 in hopes that bs goes away good lord. as is ODST cheated me out of audio logs, had most of them followed some of silvers guides to find some more but the lit terminals played some previously played audio logs and will not unlock the remainder and will no longer pop those terminals so I'm screwed on that....
Not going to lie you should probably just go through the flying section normally. Sure it's a bit slower but you won't be ripping your hair out doing it.
I can get out of bounds at the beginning. When I go to the part to load the tunnels they never load. That orange portal looking thing loads but not the other tunnels to drive though. Currently on a Xbox Series X so not sure if fast loading is an issue, a patch, or if I'm just doing it wrong.
Just did it on PC - I think you're just doing it wrong. I had some issues with load zones - try getting closer to the "spine".
What would you say the timing would be for those of us not skilled to bypass most of the flying area and have to fight all the way through it?

This 25m. par time is such a BS
This bullshit level is one of the reasons why I absolutely hate Halo 4. Seriously fuck Crawlers and Watchers. There is nothing more annoying than getting overwhelmed by those on EASY!
